After discussing the case, Hughes said, "Jimmy, the Court Police's SOG division called and they hope you can visit for an exchange. What's your opinion?"
Jimmy raised an eyebrow, "Do I have to go?"
Hughes: "It's up to you."
Jimmy thought for a moment: "Is it because of the last mission?"
Hughes nodded, Jimmy: "Since they even called you, I might as well go. Is there a scheduled time?"
Hughes: "You arrange it yourself, just sometime in the next few days, and let them know in advance."
Jimmy: "Understood. I'll go back to check my current caseload, arrange things, and then get back to you."
The cooperation between the Court Police and the FBI is still extensive, but it mainly involves the enforcement officers of the Court Police. Special units like SOG theoretically should only be in contact with teams like SWAT or HRT for this type of interaction. It's probably because of that fight at the crossroads a few days ago; Jimmy was too ruthless, all the gunmen's lethal shots were fired by him. That's why SOG had this idea for an exchange, they definitely have the surveillance video of the crossroads, and having Jimmy come over is probably for a drill.
The problem shouldn't be too big, as long as he doesn't come across as overly impressive, there shouldn't be any issues.
Jimmy didn't return to his office, but turned and headed straight to Ruiz's office. "Knock knock," Jimmy knocked and entered.
Ruiz: "You met with him?"
Jimmy nodded: "He's not just an ordinary informant."
Ruiz: "Don't ask, that's not for you to know. What did he say?"
Jimmy: "Took the suspect's photos, didn't say anything."
Ruiz: "Okay, then you wait for his notification on this lead. Just continue investigating the rest. Anything else?"
Jimmy shook his head: "No, just came to thank you."
Ruiz: "No thanks needed, oh, that Reina from the Dixie Family, he has already left New York. The surveillance team tracked him driving a sedan heading for DC, but then they lost him, the tracking failed."
Jimmy clenched his teeth and inhaled sharply, "He got away cheap, never mind, there will be other chances to get him. And the paparazzo?"
Ruiz: "It's confirmed, it was the video Reina provided. Reina must have recognized you, probably investigated you after his associate died."
Jimmy nodded: "I get it, he still harbors ill intentions, just trying to cause me trouble. Let's leave it for now. I'll be going back, give my thanks to your brother for me."
Ruiz waved his hand, Jimmy turned and left, heading back to his office. Things seem to have not been going well lately, with Reina, who's constantly plotting to stir up trouble for him in the background; this guy definitely needs to be dealt with sooner rather than later, too much hassle. Jimmy isn't the type who likes to attract attention; making big news isn't something good.
Jimmy reviewed the files in his hands; currently, only two cases remained unresolved, one involving a taxi driver and the other today's explosion. It looked like this visit to SOG might just offer another opportunity to slack off for a while.
After work, Jimmy went to see Nia and mentioned his schedule for the coming days. That night he directly booked a flight for the following day to Alexandria, Louisiana. SOG's Paul Fleet brought someone to pick up Jimmy outside the airport; they were headed straight for the William F. Deegan Tactical Operations Center and would not be staying in the city area.
