North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 525: 369 got a ticket for the first time_3

Traffic parking violations in the United States still need to be dealt with, otherwise the white ticket turns into a yellow ticket, the fine doubles, it affects insurance and driver's license renewal, and it might even directly turn into a pink ticket, for which the court will issue an arrest warrant, and it leaves a permanent record.

Don't be overly optimistic, the American institutions never forget when it comes to fines; the ticket records are always kept and further escalated in severity. Many people have been caught off guard by a sudden arrest warrant.

Jimmy looked at the white ticket, feeling a surge of anger, sat in the driver's seat, thought for a while, and decided to head back to the bureau first. There were no leads here for now; he should get this ticket sorted out first.

Jimmy was driving a bureau-issued vehicle, and most FBI vehicle license plates are disguised, with no obvious connection to the current user, only traceable internally. So, how to handle this ticket would depend on the arrangements of the administrative department. In fact, the outcome would be either paying out of his pocket or having the bureau's vehicle management department take care of the ticket.

Jimmy started the car, feeling dejected, turned on the radio to listen to music, and hurried back to the Lower District of Manhattan. Before he reached the bureau, the radio suddenly broadcast a breaking news alert: "Breaking news, NYPD has just issued an Amber Alert; an 8-year-old girl has been abducted outside her school. We now provide information on the little girl and the abductor..."

Jimmy immediately slowed down, pulled over to the side of the road, and stopped the car. His phone had received a text message alert a while ago, but since he was driving and didn't have time to look, and the phone was on silent vibration mode, he did not hear the ringtone.

An Amber Alert is a special kind of notification issued when a confirmed child abduction has taken place and the police have verified the clues fit the standards set by the Judicial Department of the United States, thereby applying for the activation of an Amber Alert.

The Amber Alert uses the United States Emergency Alert System (EAS) through the internet, commercial radio stations, television stations, outdoor billboards, traffic signs, and wireless communication systems to issue a call for help to the public by disseminating the victim's information, the kidnapper's identity, and other relevant details, relying on the power of the masses to find the missing child.

There are four criteria set by the Judicial Department of the United States for issuing an alert: the abducted must be a child, 17 years old or younger, the legal authorities must confirm that the abduction has indeed taken place, the child must be in immediate danger of serious injury or death, and there must be detailed information about the abducted child, the kidnapping suspect, or the kidnapper's vehicle.

Of course, in actual practice, each state has its standards for issuing alerts, and often, if only the age and complete information criteria are met, an alert is issued.

After listening to the Amber Alert broadcast on the radio, Jimmy picked up his phone and called Nia directly. The conversation with Chuck this morning hadn't been pleasant, so it was better to talk to Nia, at least she wasn't abrasive.

Jimmy, "Nia, are you dealing with that child abduction case?"

Nia, "Yes, just now Agent Kimberly Rice already authorized the issuance of the Amber Alert; we're hoping for some good news."

Jimmy, "How's the situation now?"

Nia, "It's not good, we only have information from surveillance footage, but the car disappeared after turning a few blocks, and we haven't found any further traces of them in the footage. We've already arranged patrol officers to check the area where they disappeared, and I'm going to join Chuck there."

Jimmy, "Well, if Agent Rice is on it, there should be no problem; she's our bureau's expert on abduction cases. As long as you're all right, that's good. I'll let you get back to it, I'm heading back to the bureau. Goodbye."
