North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 521: Does someone invite 367?_3

Winston really jumped when he acquired Jimmy's file. Whether it was the previous county police records or the FBI's Manhattan office records, the data seemed fake. In decades, Winston had never heard of a cop with such extraordinary combat achievements, especially acquired within a mere two or three years.

One might find a Delta Force member's kill count credible on the battlefield, albeit still exaggerated, but how could Jimmy, a police officer, achieve so many kills? Even the hitmen of the Continental Hotel, under normal circumstances, couldn't possibly have such extensive kill records. Those with such numbers were seasoned veterans.

According to Harry's report upon his return, Jimmy's own combat abilities could not be matched by the records stated in these files, as the majority of his kills were ordinary criminals whose combat skills couldn't compare to those of the Continental's hitmen. Even rookies were far stronger than most criminals outside.

As a senior assassin of the hotel, Harry himself was immensely capable, even considered a top hitman. He observed the villa for hours starting from dusk; there were no lights in the villa, and he made no mistakes as he entered late at night. Had anyone else been in the villa, be it the FBI or court police, they definitely wouldn't have withstood Harry's assault.

From the moment Harry entered, he was pinned down by Jimmy in a corner, afraid to poke his head out. Such endurance, marksmanship, and judgment of the situation confirmed that Jimmy's abilities were indeed above most at the Continental Hotel. Perhaps only John Wick, Cassian, and a few other well-known figures could compare to Jimmy. Even according to Harry's judgment, Wick himself might not necessarily be able to break through Jimmy's defenses head-on.

Jimmy's impressive combat strength was highly attractive and, with Justin, who had been observing Jimmy for two years, acting as a go-between confirming that Jimmy's character and conduct were very much in line with what Winston looked for, it was no wonder Winston wished to recruit him.

He had been in charge of New York's Continental Hotel for decades and although things had always been smooth without any significant incidents, he wasn't at the top of the system. A person with no foresight must have immediate worries; Winston needed to prepare some backup measures for himself.

Jimmy was completely unaware of Winston's thoughts, but he wasn't at a loss either. Jimmy wouldn't be sought out for major issues, and in normal times, he could still utilize the resources of the Continental Hotel, though he still had to pay when necessary. Winston also promised to keep Jimmy's involvement secret and not let too many people disturb him. Meanwhile, the hotel's intelligence system could also provide help to Jimmy.

Jimmy's two guns had been with him for a long time, but since he primarily used a revolver, the M686-1 with .357 Magnum bullets, they didn't match the other two firearms he admired. He was interested in a Colt Python, but its ejector operation was completely different from what he was accustomed to. The best course of action would be to have a gunsmith custom-make an M686 core revolver with the design of a Colt Python.

Jimmy also casually inquired with Winston about this, and although the Continental Hotel only provided finished weapons, Winston indicated he could help him find a reliable gunsmith. Later on, Jimmy could communicate with them directly. This gesture might be considered good faith from Winston, offering some benefits upfront before Jimmy had done anything to close the gap between them.

Back at his apartment, Jimmy opened a bag to find two boxes of coffee beans. He hadn't expected that a mere compliment on the taste of the coffee would result in such a gift from Winston, who had been completely silent about it. It must have been Justin who decided on this independently. Could his relationship with Winston have reached this level?

Jimmy put the coffee in the kitchen and pulled out his phone to contact the FBI support squad's training center. The training regimen he had in mind couldn't always happen in his own house; he would need to go elsewhere. Fortunately, Jimmy's reputation had spread internally, so there was no need for Ruiz to make a reservation for him anymore. Once he reported his name, the other side agreed to accommodate some training time for Jimmy.
