North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 490: 356 Leisure Time (Happy New Year)_3

Nia: "So, do you want to chat with them? Have a little fan meeting?"

Jimmy: "Huh? I have fans?"

Nia: "Of course, you don't think everyone can't see how tough the situation in the video was? Besides, you're a rising star!"

Jimmy: "What about you? Do you think I should go?"

Nia nodded: "Of course, but it's best to wait until you're free."

Jimmy: "OK, you set the time. By the way, is your detective exam over?"

Nia: "Yeah, the exam ended, and I'll be able to change out of the police uniform soon."

Jimmy: "Then we should definitely celebrate. How about a drink?"

Nia gave Jimmy a glance, although the reason was somewhat arbitrary, it was reluctantly acceptable.

The bar Jimmy chose was still the one next to his apartment, where he had met Nia for the first time. Speaking of which, this was only the second time they drank together, the first being during New York Fashion Week when Nia came to the bar with friends.

Jimmy still restrained himself, not taking advantage of the case to check her information. But it didn't matter, Jimmy wasn't like Peter, petty, who, after meeting Elizabeth, immediately used the FBI database to check her information. He was shocked when he first found out, never expecting such honorable-looking, straight-laced Peter to have his moments.

Oftentimes, everyone's aesthetic is very consistent, young girls who are blonde, tall, and beautiful are always everyone's favorite, just like Hollywood's standards for an American sweetheart.

There was no need to talk about work or other messy stuff while drinking, Jimmy and Nia talked about hobbies and things they were interested in, along with a few dirty jokes, which made her laugh out loud, a stark contrast from her usual self.

Of course, this was the result of Jimmy intentionally steering the conversation. Nia wasn't like the other girls he flirted with at the bar, this was the first time he actively pursued someone, so there were no excessive physical hints or anything, everything progressed at a normal pace.

With Jimmy's initiative and the influence of alcohol, the two gradually grew closer, moving from sitting at right angles to side by side, until they kissed. Who initiated it no longer mattered, the progress they made was significant.

Nia was clearly intolerant to alcohol, her face had turned red after just a few drinks, and her eyes were slightly blurred, but she still seemed very sober, leaning on Jimmy's shoulder, lost in thought.

After a while, the waiter suddenly brought over a cocktail, saying with a smile, "Hi, Jimmy, this is from Woody, the drink's name is 'True love'." The waiter placed down the cocktail and left after speaking.

Jimmy looked towards the bartender Woody in the bar, raising his glass to Woody, who responded by picking up a glass of water. Jimmy tasted the drink, a blend of lemon and honey, mildly sour and sweet, combined with the spicy hit of alcohol and some flavors he couldn't identify. The mix really wasn't bad, making him feel like finishing it in one gulp.

"A Woody special, tastes great. Nia, want to try?" Jimmy offered the drink to Nia, who took a small sip and nodded with her eyes closed.

It seemed like Nia had drunk a bit too much, Jimmy checked the time, "Nia?"

"Hmm?"

"Do you want to continue?"

Nia shook her head, appearing quite sober, but it looked like it was time to leave the bar. Jimmy and Nia finished the drink Woody sent over, then Jimmy held Nia as they got up to leave.

The bar was right next to Jimmy's apartment, and after leaving, Jimmy holding Nia asked, "How about going up for a cup of coffee?"

Nia looked up and kissed Jimmy, "I need to go back, otherwise my family will go crazy."

Jimmy nodded, hailed a taxi, and sent Nia home. It wasn't midnight yet, but since they had been drinking, it felt better to send her home.

Passing through the Upper West Side around Central Park and coming to the Upper East Side, Jimmy felt a bit numb, not having investigated Nia beforehand seemed like a mistake. How could an ordinary officer afford to live in the Upper East Side? He couldn't even afford a house in that area.

"Please wait a moment." After instructing the driver, Jimmy and Nia got out of the taxi, Nia looked at Jimmy, embraced him and gave him a kiss, then turned and walked into the apartment building with a smile.

Jimmy watched Nia enter the apartment, then got back into the taxi and returned to his own apartment.
