North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 450: 342 Lost Clue

Ruiz waited for the support personnel to arrive, and a few members of the Forensic Team were assisting with the investigation of the warehouse. Jimmy and his team were also nearly finished; Scott and the other two had already come out, and four members of the Forensic Team were in the process of organizing and packing up the evidence, and they would be ready to leave shortly.

When Jimmy arrived at Warehouse T14, Ruiz's laughter was already coming from inside.

Jimmy, "Ruiz, what's so funny?"

Ruiz, "Hahaha, Jimmy, you really are my lucky star. This is a warehouse we didn't know about, and we've already found several packages of goods. Those guys won't be able to slip away this time. That Scarface kid, I'll definitely make him bleed heavily."

Jimmy laughed too, realizing when he saw gang members taking things out of boxes and placing them on the ground that they must have been using these legitimate goods to hide the drugs inside. Now that it was confirmed, it was even better. Asking questions upfront wouldn't be considered a procedural error then; at most, it was just being too nosy in a project not under his supervision.

Jimmy, "Alright, then you guys continue searching. I'm just wrapping up things on my end, so we'll head back to the office first."

Ruiz, "Yeah, thanks Jimmy, you worked hard."

Jimmy waved his hand and left the warehouse. Scott and the others were also standing by the cars, a line of eight people across three cars, heading back to the office at Federal Square.

On the way back, Jimmy felt that something was off. He discreetly glanced at the rearview mirror and saw Joey and Harry in the back seat staring at him. He turned to look at Scott in the passenger seat, who also occasionally turned to glance at Jimmy, then looked back at the traffic ahead.

Unable to bear the atmosphere any longer, Jimmy asked, "Hey guys, what's the problem? Why are you looking at me like that?"

Scott turned towards Jimmy, "Jimmy, how did you do that?"

Jimmy, "What?"

Scott, "Six people, four gunmen, how did you manage to take care of them?"

Jimmy expressed his speechlessness with a sigh, "It wasn't hard, there were only two people in front, the other four came out of the warehouse later, I just used the time difference."

Scott shook his head frantically, "No no no, I mean the process, how did you handle it?"

Jimmy considered for a moment, and since a report had to be written anyway, there was no harm in telling them, "It was simple, I was smoking outside, they drove up in three cars, and when they got out I recognized two people as gang members from a previous case. When one of them came out from the warehouse, I approached and asked a few simple questions."

Scott, "Then what happened?"

Jimmy, "At first, only one person came out, then he called another one out. They tried to take me down, so I fought back. After knocking down two, the others came out shooting, and then I took down four guys. The first two were also intimidated, they surrendered on their own. Just like that, very simple."

Scott gaped, wanting to say something, but in the end, he didn't speak, "Alright, I get it."

After Scott sat upright, Jimmy turned his head, and sensing there wasn't much else to be said, the ambiance in the car finally relaxed. The eerie quiet and the chilling feeling down his back had been truly uncomfortable.

Back at the office, Jimmy and Scott headed to the conference room.

Scott, "Gordon, we've searched Abdul's warehouse. There isn't much contraband, just a few handguns and some bullets, no drugs, no explosives, no controllers, very clean."

Gordon, "What about his contact methods with his superiors?"

Scott, "We found two laptops on site, which have been given to technical personnel for cracking. We should have some results soon. Also, a smashed recording pen was found in the trash bin, but the chip is damaged, and it's probably completely impossible to retrieve the recordings from it."

Based on the clues provided by Jimmy, Ashi would carry his laptop and recording pen when he left home, so one of those laptops should primarily belong to him. However, we didn't find any notebook-related content, which means if Ashi didn't carry it with him at all, then Abdul must have destroyed it after getting his hands on it."

Gordon shook his head, "Time is tight, if it doesn't work out, we'll directly make Abdul unlock his computer, by force if necessary."

Scott, "OK, let's give the tech personnel a bit of time."

Gordon, "Half an hour, if there's no result, bring it back and make Abdul do it."

Scott and the others sat back at the conference table and continued to go through the paperwork. Seeing there wasn't much for him to do, Jimmy turned to leave the conference room and went to work on his report.

After Jimmy left, Scott couldn't help but retell the incident to Gordon, emphasizing how from hearing the gunshots to drawing their guns and running out of the warehouse, to seeing Jimmy in control of the entire situation had only taken about ten seconds. They had only paused at the warehouse entrance to assess the outside situation. Even though they couldn't completely deduce the battle scene outside, in about ten seconds, four gunmen had been shot, and Jimmy was also able to aim at the two fallen men; the speed, efficiency, and confidence were unbelievable. If they hadn't been part of the situation and had only witnessed the outcome, they wouldn't have believed it.

Gordon was also shocked, shaking his head, "This matter doesn't concern us, focus on the bombing case, don't get distracted by other things."
