North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 368: 310 Ruiz's Rage_2

Jimmy, "Ruiz, is there a case?"

Ruiz, "Yes, tonight we plan to raid a port warehouse. An undercover agent has confirmed that it is a drug distribution center for the T14 gang."

Jimmy, "T14? Is that a new gang? How come I've never heard of them?"

Ruiz, "They were just a small gang before, and we hadn't noticed them. However, one of our undercover agents coincidentally got a lead. The boss of T14, Scarface, used to be with the Mexican gang and was in charge of smuggling operations."

"After over a month of investigation, we have confirmed that the Mexican gang has a maritime smuggling route from Manzanillo to New York, which was taken over by T14's Scarface and distributed to other gangs. Hidden within this smuggling route is a drug smuggling line, which is our target."

Jimmy, "Shouldn't this be handled by the New York Port Authority Police?"

Ruiz, "Yes, we have already notified them, but we will definitely still need to handle it. The Port Authority Police are monitoring at a distance now. We'll go tonight, and the monitoring team is tracking Scarface. He will be at the warehouse tonight, and then we'll catch him red-handed."

Jimmy, "What about the search warrant?"

Ruiz, "Yes, we've got it."

Jimmy, "Great, when do we head there?"

Ruiz glanced at his watch, "In an hour, we'll head directly to the vicinity of the port warehouse."

Jimmy nodded, and Ruiz left the office to prepare. Jimmy didn't have much to prepare; he just checked his gun and bullets thoroughly, and was OK. The bullet-proof vest was kept in the trunk of the assigned car.

At 9:30, Jimmy and Ruiz arrived at the warehouse area next to the port. To avoid alerting them, Port Authority Police monitored from the crane, and several points were set up around the perimeter of the warehouse area. Jimmy looked at the warehouse area, it was late at night now, there were no regular personnel entering or leaving the warehouse area, and the lighting was only limited to the high surrounding lights, there was no illumination on the warehouse buildings themselves.

Jimmy, "Ruiz, are there any of their people over by that warehouse?"

Ruiz shook his head, "No, this is their transit warehouse. After the cargo ship arrives, they store the goods inside the warehouse, and transfer them normally the next day. However, if there's special cargo, Scarface will arrange for people to come and handle it the night before. We know there's cargo here this time because Scarface decided to come himself."

Jimmy, "Then you wait here for a moment, I'll check the terrain near the warehouse to facilitate our operation later."

Ruiz nodded, Jimmy pulled out his Glock, and, holding a flashlight, walked towards the warehouse. The warehouse itself was not lit, and of course, Jimmy didn't turn on the flashlight, he just carried it as a backup, using Heart Eye Observation was more convenient.

Arriving at the target warehouse, Jimmy roughly scanned it, found no large surveillance monitors, which was a good thing as it made his movements easier. Approaching the warehouse rolling gate, he looked inside and then discovered a major problem—the warehouse was empty.

It wasn't completely empty; some boxes could be seen inside the warehouse, but from Heart Eye Observation, the boxes seemed to be empty. Solid objects and spaces appeared completely differently under Heart Eye scanning.

Jimmy looked around left and right, it was indeed this warehouse, something was wrong, someone had leaked the information, and they had moved the goods ahead of time.

After looking around more, circling the warehouse, Jimmy returned to Ruiz's side. It wasn't time to tell him yet, because apart from the rolling gate, the warehouse itself had no windows to see inside, so he couldn't explain. Moreover, since Scarface did it so thoroughly, not leaving any regular goods behind, Ruiz would definitely be furious upon seeing the scene later, and Scarface would become a major target of Ruiz's attention from then on.

Ruiz took a phone call and told Jimmy, "Scarface is on his way."

The two returned to their car, it would take at least half an hour for Scarface to get from his place to the warehouse, it was more comfortable in the car.

"Depart," Ruiz's voice came from Jimmy's walkie-talkie, Ruiz drove ahead, Jimmy followed behind, with three Port Authority Police cars following, their sirens blaring towards the warehouse.

Two sedans had already stopped in front of the T14 warehouse, several people were stepping out using the roller gate, and upon hearing the sirens, they immediately grabbed the car doors, preparing to board, then found themselves surrounded by police cars and FBI vehicles at the front and back.

"This is the FBI, everyone stay where you are and don't move, raise your hands above your heads," the car's public address system announced, warning the two cars trapped in the middle.

Everyone got out, Port Authority Police held guns next to the police cars, aimed at the T14 members in the middle, Ruiz walked up to the car in front, knocked on the window, "Scarface, come out for a chat."

Scarface glared outside at Ruiz, clenched his teeth, nodded, then opened the car door and stepped out. Scarface was Latino, surrounded by vehicle lights that brightly illuminated outside the warehouse, capturing Scarface's expression clearly. A scar that looked healed extended from the right side of his neck to his right cheek, likely the origin of his nickname Scarface.

Scarface, "I don't know what brings you here at this time?"

Ruiz took out a folded search warrant from his pocket, "We need to inspect your warehouse, this is a search warrant."

Ruiz placed the search warrant in Scarface's hand, pointing to the warehouse door, "Open the door."
