The second chance of the uncrowned king - (Isekai)

Chap 75: Meeting full of surprises.

Point of view – Jarrid: All the sadness and tension had vanished from the room, as if our Maki had only gone on a long expedition and was now back to tell us his tales. Seeing him uninjured, decently dressed, and speaking like nothing had happened brought us peace.

When he finished recounting his story about the tournament, I felt proud—one of my sons had won the rookie tournament, being two years younger than the other participants and still showing a massive advantage. My chest swelled with pride. I could feel the joy from my wife beside me; she must also be proud of our youngest son.

"As I was saying, we heard some screams right before using the portal, and when I opened my eyes, we were in the middle of a dense forest." My son resumed his story, focusing carefully not to skip any detail and keeping his narration fluid.

His story captivated me from the very beginning—not just me, I could see the serious faces of my mother and wife, listening intently to not miss a single detail. His first steps in an unknown place, venturing out alone at first, fighting rabbit and goblin-type monsters, training his teammates—and finally, the most thrilling part so far: his battle against a small settlement led by a Hobgoblin.

Can I feel twice as proud of my son? Seeing how an Amethyst-rank boy took the lead and dared to fight monsters of a higher grade. We always knew there was something special about Maki—he's destined for greatness, a breaker of limits. This story might be the beginning of a name that will remain in the books.

Emotion fills me. He's not just talented with weapons since childhood—he's gifted in magic and has had immense luck gaining various advantages along the way. The way he tells his story draws me in—I feel like going out to hunt monsters myself just from hearing him speak. But not everything is perfect. Worry creeps in too. What if he had made even the slightest mistake? He could have lost a limb—or worse, died in that desolate dungeon. That must be what my wife is feeling. I sense her joy and pride in her Imra, but also deep concern and sadness.

Point of view – Rita:

This was within my expectations. At that point, Maki should have been able to defeat a grade two monster with some difficulty. What caught me completely off guard, though, was a voice speaking directly into their minds. At the very least, that requires someone of Diamond rank.

My son opened his mouth slightly in surprise, and my daughter-in-law widened her eyes a little upon hearing it. The three of us knew clearly how powerful one has to be to pull something like that off.

The story took a familiar turn. Apparently, the dungeon's creator teleported the others out and asked Maki to clear it. Maki said he was given the chance to leave with the others, but something in his instincts told him to stay. That staying would grant him something greater.

While Maki paused for water and gathered his thoughts, we had time to process the information. I still can't tell if it was good or bad luck for both sides—to cross paths with a limit-breaker and someone so powerful.

So, is that when young Lady Arisa fell for him? After Maki stayed to clear the dungeon? I'm happy to see my grandson possibly marrying a Count's daughter—but I'm also happy to see him with Camux's daughter. Sol is a good girl. Will Maki choose monogamy or polygamy?

He resumed the tale where he left off. Taking on missions, killing groups of goblins and Hobgoblins along the way. I wonder if Maki even realizes how difficult that is. The higher the monster's rank, the harder it is to take them one-on-one. You need a strong foundation to pull that off. Maki shattered expectations, killing multiple high-ranked monsters with almost no injuries.

My foolish son only thinks about fighting—just like his older brother, all brawn. His Imra was obvious: while Maki recounted his battles, his Imra pulsed with a desire to fight.

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

Thankfully, my daughter-in-law is composed and competent—I only felt concern and curiosity from her.

Huh? What did Maki say? All his skills? That froze me. Not just me—the others also stopped moving and froze their expressions. So… is the creator going to reveal themselves? That was unexpected. Time to pay even more attention.

Point of view – Celes:

I pinch my husband's side gently to calm him—our son's story was making his Imra react quite strongly. He probably needs to go monster hunting soon; he's been stuck in papers and ruling for years.

"At that moment, I finally pushed all my skills to rank (III)." The pressure in the room dropped suddenly. Maki also noticed our shift in mood and paused for a moment. "I'm okay, I fixed it. Please let me continue. You can ask me questions soon." His words did little to calm us. Doing something like that with such a small body could have killed him. He must be fine now since it's been three years…

So it wasn't a person? A monster created that dungeon—and not just any monster. It was the first Marquis' companion. Again, the tension in the room rose. Maki glanced at us to see if he could keep speaking, and we all nodded.

We were all worried, shocked, and amazed by this boy's luck. Maki is someone destined to make a major difference in this world. So many emotions can't be good for me. In just a few hours, I've felt more emotions than I have in an entire year—and they're all strong, crashing over me like waves at sea.

Point of view – Maki:

Two revelations have already been intense enough to shake them. What will they say when they hear about me taming a beast—and having her daughter with me? There are several more revelations equally or even more shocking...

"I want to say something before continuing. Brace yourselves. What's coming will be just as hard to believe..." My grandmother gave me a suspicious look; my father's expression was harder to read—he seemed happy, or something like it; my mother looked at me seriously, visibly concerned. I let out a sigh and continued.

Their emotions began leaking out as I picked up the story. I explained how Sus shared stories with me, how she opened her heart to do what she did.

Their reactions weren't just surprise—I could see on their faces a mix of disbelief and desire to believe me.

"Here's the proof," I said, lifting the sleeves of my shirt so they could see the tattoos from my shoulder down to nearly my elbow. My right arm is almost full—I don't know what will happen when it's completed. Will I get to meet Sus' daughter?

I began to explain what each tattoo meant, the benefits of becoming a beast tamer, and how it saved me from dying of internal overload.

Their mouths were already wide open at this point—three bombs dropped in a row. It was natural for them to react that way. The cherry on top came when I told them I had gained two new affinities after fusing with Sus' power. Their jaws nearly hit the floor. I was surprised to see even my grandmother react like that—I almost burst out laughing.

"Little boy, give us a moment to think—this is too much to process at once. Can we pause to ask a few questions?" My grandmother interrupted. My father nodded at her words. I looked at my mother—she just waited for my decision.

"Grandma, just give me a moment. Act Two is almost over. One more 'bomb' to go. After that, I'll answer everything." She looked at me with eyes that said she didn't trust me but reluctantly agreed.

I ended Act Two by explaining how I gained my healing ability and told them that without it, I wouldn't have survived everything in that dungeon.

Their reactions were less obvious this time—they had prepared themselves for something like this. Still, their reactions varied. My grandmother began sealing her Imra—though from what little I felt, she was surprised and deep in thought, calculating the future as always. My mother felt relieved after so much worry, though her feelings were still hard to read. My father was different—he was a whirlwind of emotions. The main ones: excitement and sadness. It's strange to feel such opposing emotions at once.

With that, I ended Act Two, and the questions began just seconds later. They'd been processing everything, now ready to ask every question possible. This would take time… Their questions gradually put them more at ease. Some asked follow-ups until they got a clear answer.

I tried to answer as openly as possible, withholding only what concerned my past life. Telling the truth felt good. They deserved to know what I went through and how strong I've become.

To my surprise, my father asked many questions—especially about my battles before I met Sus. He was very intrigued by how I defeated them.

The rest focused on my new affinities, healing skill, how I felt after gaining that power—and finally, what I would do when Sus' daughter is born. My answer was clear: She'll be like a sister or daughter to me.

I'm not just linked to Sus—but to her daughter too. I can feel it clearly in my core: the fusion is both of them. There's no middle ground. The three of them breathed a sigh of relief. They were happy to see how caring I was—some tamers see their companions as mere monsters. They were relieved to know that I saw her as family.
