The second chance of the uncrowned king - (Isekai)

Chap 212: Provocation and Consequence.

Salei tried to use some skill and Imra at the same time. I used my own abilities to stop his, managing to paralyze his stupid lackeys; everyone behind me froze like statues. Some of them are Emerald rank or new Sapphires — they couldn't break my prison.

The two people in front of me try to fight the pressure I generated; after a few seconds they half-broke the cage. I didn't move — to show them the difference between us. "If that's all you've got, you'd better leave, idiots." I try to provoke them a little more.

Salei almost broke my Laws, Banner and pressure completely — I appear in front of him before that happens. "You're nothing compared to me, little rat." My words seem to work; his face flushes with rage. His friend almost frees himself; I'm a little surprised because I'm giving everything I have right now.

"If you want, we can go one on one." As I finish speaking, a fog surrounds me — apparently the same affinity as his younger brother.

I land a blow to his companion's stomach; I nearly see him spit blood. Salei looks desperate and squirms behind the others. "Shut up, idiot, you won't get away with talking about me." The whole bathroom fills with thick fog; I start to feel pressure and activate some skills.

Salei moves quickly inside his skill out of the bathroom and I discharge electricity to try to contain him. My skill destroys the foundations of the tiny bathroom, almost bringing it down; the young noble tries to catch me with a blunt ability and I manage to dodge.

The duke's son's ability shatters the last beams, causing parts of the ceiling to fall onto his friends. If he doesn't care, I care even less. I watch the desperate faces trying to escape my cage; I don't free them and they collapse inside the building.

I exit thanks to my movement skill from the bathroom rubble; the weakest are trapped inside. The stronger companion almost escaped after my blow to his gut, but he vomits and ends up half buried.

Simple bricks can't stop Emeralds, and certainly not Sapphires — they keep trying to break my prison. I turn to them to say, "You'd better stay under the rubble and not interfere." I release a bit of bloodthirst to add weight to my words; each one carries a murderous intent.

They all look at me, frightened by the pressure I generate. The only ones unfazed are Salei and the other idiot who was with him.

"No one else will help you — repeat those words." I stop a few meters from the duke's son, a final signal of danger before I attack without thinking of the consequences.

"Shut up! You're the son of a mere baronet in the Empire! Do you think that Imra of yours scares me? You don't know your place, simple idiot." Salei doesn't look cowed by the pressure I created.

I move as fast as possible toward his friend to land a blow on the jaw and quickly check the others' situation. No one else will free themselves fast enough or stop me once I start.

Salei attempts to trap me with his fog; I move like a snake. I move like a fish in water to avoid his chains. "Is that all? Your brother is on another level." My words detonate something — his strength grows second by second, anger forming on his face in an instant.

I close the distance with my movement skill, catch him off guard, and my kick hits his ribs. The blow sends him a few meters back; when I try to approach again he teleports to another position.

Salei ignores his friends and the bathroom finishes collapsing; the rubble knocks them to the ground while the weaker ones try to force my cages. I stop worrying about those idiots who tried to act cool by ambushing this brat.

"No one will help you — be a man." I try to provoke him into making a mistake.

My provocation works: Salei forms more fog-chains to trap me; parts of his fog take shape as spears and water to pierce me. I dodge the chains and stop the other attacks with my own ice constructions.

"Quit playing, come at me with everything, idiot." The words leave my mouth before I think; my anger shows. I notice the duke son's face twist in fury.

"You'll regret each of your words." He becomes completely serious, begins creating all sorts of constructions to injure me; I can even see his will moving inside the fog around us. Something has changed in the mist — I feel it trying to cling to my body to restrict my movement.

I coat my body with Imra, Laws and Banner; that manages to stop the fog's restrictions. "That's more interesting." I finally take one of my Thundersnow Fangs from my cube to defend against his constructions. The kid is an idiot, but I can't kill him or seriously wound him — if I hit him it'll be with my fist.

Slowly, he begins to panic at not being able to trap or hurt me; Salei just keeps escaping from side to side, turning his body into fog to move inside his field. He doesn't become intangible because I managed to land a punch on him earlier; it's just hard to find him and follow his speed in that state.

My control over the prisons wavers; I must concentrate on many things at once to avoid being hurt or captured. I activate my Crushing Zone to generate even more pressure on his companions on the ground, and I notice Salei's discomfort at feeling the new pressure on his fog and body.

I get close again; he transforms into that intangible state. I had planned that move — I release my Electrifying Raging River in all directions. I hear a scream a few meters away and his body appears again, although that attack isn't very powerful it can still cause some damage if you don't defend.

I move as fast as I can to his new position. Salei tries to become fog again but I press him with my concentrated Crushing Zone; I manage to counter his skill somehow thanks to the pressure. I position myself to his side, land a punch to his face and his head slams into the floor.

I didn't control my force and his head bounces on the ground; he's still conscious but bleeding from the mouth and his face swollen from the blow. The fog around me begins to dissipate.

"You son of a bitch, fucking idiot…" When he mentions my mother I almost lose control. I thrust my sword at the side of his face, making a small cut in his ear.

"You must die and be reborn thousands of times before you can talk about my mother — you'd better shut up, idiot." I can see fear in his eyes; he moves his mouth a little and finally shuts up.

I release the pressure on him and the prison fades from his entourage. I can feel some other people entering the range of my Personal World; they're running toward us at full speed.

"You shouldn't have brought them, Glia — I was about to come back to you." My little sister had been speaking to me during the swift encounter; I let her know everything is fine.

"I already let you beat them up; let me get some help to calm things down." I receive her words directly in my mind. Glia can't speak directly to them; apparently she released her Imra towards all of them and then ran. At first they all stood, but they followed her.

"What happened? Are you okay, Maki?" Brendu is the first to arrive at my side; she grabs my face to check for injuries.

"These idiots tried to ambush me in the bathroom." The entourage is getting up from the rubble; I speak aloud so the whole group hears. The first to react are Areci and Shawu — both release their Imra on the entourage, making them tremble. The faces of my friends are terrifying in that moment.

"This idiot started it with provocation and tried to attack me first." I point to one side; Salei has turned his face away when he notices who approached.

"Salei? Salei Vallac?" Brendu looks surprised at first, then frowns and clenches her hands.

"Did you try to hurt Maki?" Brendu's cold voice surprises me — her pressure is no joke. She tries to approach the idiot and grabs his hand; she stops when she feels my fingers link with hers. "Maki? Why are you stopping me? Let me tell him a few things."

"You can do it later — I don't want to ruin the night." Areci and Shawu have already asked the entourage for names after realizing they are students from the same school. Humyr releases a threatening pressure; the twins stand close watching Salei with contempt and anger; Ogine asks if anyone needs urgent healing, but her pressure is chilling.

I look one last time at Salei — he's staring at me with clear hatred. "There's no point wasting time with people like that." I give him a look full of contempt.

"Bastard…" I hear Salei whisper; I ignore him completely. Everyone else nods and we leave the place.

That idiot at least has some sense — all my companions are children of Obsidian ranks and have backgrounds as formidable as his or even higher, like Brendu, Areci and Humyr. Salei pounds the sand as he gets up, spitting some blood, and starts shouting at his companions before leaving with them.

"Are you sure?" Brendu grabs my hand tightly; I nod and smile gently at her.
