Anthony screamed in horror with his eyes wide. The door was closing really fast and might crush him if he rushed in. But there was no time to think. He quickly dived through the door without thinking much. The statue went after Anthony immediately, and made a slapping motion towards him. Anthony twisted his body into a narrow vertical position as the stone walls closed in on him, it was already scraping his skin. Within a second, Anthony had flipped into the outer room, just in time for the stone door to completely seal up, crushing the stone statue's fingers.
Anthony gasped and wheezed, looking at the door with a palpitating heart.
"My daggers." He whispered and quickly checked himself. Luckily, the daggers were still in place. They automatically attached themselves to his body the moment he tried to leave. It was one of the advantages of having a sentient weapon spirit that could think for themselves.
"Wait, were those treasures real? Did I drop them while running?" Anthony asked hesitantly, taking a peek into his storage ring. However, the treasures he gathered were still lying lazily at the spot where he moved them, making him beam with powerful smiles.
"Not bad, not bad. Even though that demonized statue was scary, I still gained a lot there and came out unscathed. I'm pretty lucky. They sent me here to die, but I have a feeling I will make a lot of gains in here. What if no one has successfully crossed over to the cultivation world? What if no one has ever survived the perilous lands? I'm Anthony Meyers, not just anyone. If I could get the twin dragon daggers to follow me, I will naturally create other miracles." He declared quite arrogantly with his chest puffed out.
He looked at the dead evil bird beside him and made a face, quickly getting himself off the ground.
"Damn it! This adventure is a little slow because I'm the only human around. Apart from god fiends, monsters, and evil creatures, there's nothing interesting around." Anthony muttered as he moved out of that partition.

After walking around for sometime in the cave, the size didn't diminish, rather it kept increasing in width, mass and length. A day had passed and he rested at intervals to eat from his storage ring and also take some water. His water was running out, making him incredibly worried. So far he has not seen any body of liquid clean enough to pass for drinking water.
Soon, he came into a different section which looked nothing like the cave, but at the same time, Anthony was certain that he was still buried meters below the ground. The only strange thing was that despite being below the ground, oxygen was still sufficient. But the environment was hot. It didn't take him long to realize the reason for the intense heat, there were volcanic eruptions at a few corners of the cave.
However, the area he was looking at had no volcano so far. It looked well designed like a mansion with mighty gates. But the gates were wide open at the moment and had signs of forced entry around them. Some parts of the wall were pulled down, and there were discarded formation discs around, suggesting that the place underwent a siege some time in the past. And the culprit probably broke through the defense array using brute force. He took a deep breath and entered the mighty court. The moment he stepped foot inside, bone chilling coldness enveloped him, making him summon his daggers. The wind howled loudly, and with it came the cries of a woman wailing on top of her voice.
Anthony looked around with a frown but there was no one in sight. The little light in the cave was not available in this section, everywhere was dark, looking as if it was enveloped in perpetual evening. It was bright enough for a cultivator to see in, but dark nevertheless. The cries increased and he saw dark shadows zoom past him. It didn't take long for him to figure out what they were, making his eyes widen in shock.
You guessed it right, it was vengeful souls.
"This is not a mansion, this seems more like a city. What happened here?" Anthony muttered, as he slashed against the black shadows. However, the daggers didn't seem to do much harm on them.
Anthony quickly brought out a few paper talismans and threw them out. It seemed the vengeful spirits he met were the weaker ones because the talismans made them move away from him.
He suddenly heard noises of loud banging against the doors of the surrounding houses in the street he was walking down on, followed by piercing howls and shrieks that messed up the mind. Anthony had initially used his energy to protect his mind and slowly moved in, making him not to be affected so much.
"Let us go! Set us free! You can't get what you want from us, set us free."
"My poor baby. Don't kill him! What have I done to deserve this? What has my poor baby done? You're not even going to let a child go? You monsters, you have gone crazy."
"I'm going to kill you! I will kill all of you! Ahhhhhhhhh! You're a bastard, none of you will die a good death."
"No! No! No! Don't kill him! Don't hurt him! Let him go! You can take my blood instead, please let him go. I beg you. Don't hurt my son, he's still a child. If you want to hurt anyone, you can come at me. Please come at me, he's so sick. He can't stand it anymore!"
"Hahaha Hahahahaha!" Amidst the pitiful wails, an arrogant voice was laughing loudly, his voice filled with disdain and contempt. Anthony could hear everything clearly in his mind, as if he was personally witnessing them. The voices in his head threatened to drive him crazy. He was feeling a pounding headache and couldn't help but scream out, willing the noise in his head to go away. There was obviously nothing before him, everywhere around was empty or occupied by vengeful ghosts, there was no living entity around. He hasn't met any so far. Yet he could hear their voices as if the tragedy happened just yesterday and he was personally witnessing them. The voices wouldn't stop, making cold sweat to break out on his skin.
"What the fuck is going on?" He roared, his eyes wide with pain.
