RISE OF THE MARTIAL GOD

Chapter 127: ATTRACTING EVIL EYES

Anthony noticed two of the thugs communicating with their eyes, probably trying to sabotage the treatment. And he smiled, shaking his head at their stupidity. As if he would let them cause havoc with him around. They seemed to agree that the poison was above Anthony's capacity, making them mellow for a bit, while waiting to cry fool once he failed.

"Young master An, are you sure you want to do this? I will hate to drag you into this mess. How about…" Miao Miao whispered, holding Anthony by his sleeves.

"How about I ignore it and let them die? Was that what you were about to say? Your bright solution?"

"I didn't mean that, I…"

She felt exasperated and distressed, not knowing how to explain her thoughts to Anthony.

"It's alright. I fully understand the consequences before me. I wouldn't have volunteered if I was not confident. The only thing you need to ensure is adequate security to avoid someone sabotaging the treatment. There are traitors beside you, and they're closer than you think, the people you call friends might be a part of the enemy camp. And the thugs creating chaos were definitely paid. They will try to mess with the patients. You have to stand guard over them. Do not let anyone else come close, especially that Chu Lan and his girl." He whispered, patting her arm.

"Ah? But why? A'Jiu is a good person, she's someone I trust with my life. She certainly won't harm me."

Anthony smiled, barely stopping himself from rolling his eyes.

"I never said she was bad. I asked you to personally keep watch over the patients to avoid casualties."

Just then, the first batch of guards carrying the victims to an empty booth for treatment arrived and Anthony quickly moved there. He rushed to the first patient and moved his palm over the man's body in a flash. The pattern continued till the tenth person, with his frown deepening by the second.

"What's he doing? He's not even touching the patients or taking their pulse, how will he be able to diagnose them? I say he's just showing off."

"I think he's really checking them. Can't you see his face getting more serious with each patient he checks?"

Truly, Anthony was in a dilemma. The poison was truly potent, but it was nothing he couldn't cure. He had suitable herbs that could counteract the poison, just that they were all immortal ranked herbs which must not be taken out. Mortals can't bear the spirituality in them unless refined into pills. And the herbs he gathered while on earth were not strong enough.

He looked through his storage ring again and noticed a batch of spirit herbs at half step immortality evolution level. In addition to the lowest grade sacred lotus-lily, they could be used for detoxification.

"I will just dilute it properly with water and stabilizing herbs. It won't harm them."

Anthony quickly drafted a four step healing plan for them, first use baikang to expel the poison and reduce its potency, use his needle technique to stabilize their body and ensure there won't be an overload, use the lotus-lily alongside other specialized anti poisons to neutralize it. Then use another acupuncture technique to strengthen their organs and body to prevent a relapse. They must not be allowed to fall sick anytime soon, lest they say it was as a result of the poison.

"How many are the victims?" Anthony asked, turning to Meng Meng who had joined him at some point.

"One hundred and thirty five have been discovered so far, and the guards are still combing the surroundings in search of victims that might have collapsed in hidden corners."

Anthony squatted down and brought out a bowl from his storage ring. Meng Meng was startled for a while, wondering how he managed to pull such a huge bowl out of thin air. She was not the only one. Many of the onlookers were in confusion as well, especially the locals. But Anthony didn't notice, coating the bowl with his soul power. Next came the box of herbs. Anthony had moved everything he needed to the same box using his spiritual consciousness to avoid rummaging through his treasure trove right before the greedy eyes watching him like a hawk.

The moment he brought out the herbs, everyone gasped. The cultivators in the crowd instinctively began to take deep breaths, even before they saw the source of the immense energy that hit them.

Chu Lan's eyes narrowed, same with that of other people from decent cultivation clans that came to join the fun and find pretty village girls to deceive.

One wearing a dark green robe tapped his companion.

"There are golden glows around those herbs rippling like waves, and the spiritual energy is truly strong. I feel myself approaching a breakthrough by merely breathing in the scent of it, the spiritual energy seeps into my pores without me needing to refine them. Aren't they the legendary immortal herbs?"

His companion nodded, same with three others behind them from the same sect.

"That's right, those are immortal herbs. I have only ever seen them described in ancient texts and scrolls. Even first rate clans don't have so many immortal herbs. No, scratch that. Most first rate sects may not have a single immortal herb in stock, talk more of one that has this kind of quality."

"Who is he? Why does he have so much? Enough to fill that box."

"I heard he's from a powerful clan, there are even rumors he's from up there, in a higher realm. An experienced senior who we asked about his clothes commented that such materials are not available in this world. So he must be from up there. Also, the emblem on his boots are unknown. Apart from the mark on his boots, there are no other symbols on him. Someone overheard one of the girls telling that boy from the Chu clan that he came here for his life experience for his coming of age ceremony, the heir of a powerful clan."

"How powerful do you think he is?" A slightly older one asked, coming closer to join the group from the sect wearing a green colored uniform.

"He seems pretty strong, I felt his aura when he pushed the crowd aside to save that brown haired girl. But I couldn't tell his cultivation or the real extent, it was very quick." A youth of about twenty years said, looking at Anthony contemplatively.

"I don't think he's that strong." A shifty eyed man said, a malicious intention forming in his mind.
