"It's Panda God! We're out!" "Wrong, wrong. It's Panda Boss!" "Right, right, Panda Boss!" "Look, look, a Panda Goddess!" "Panda Boss found a Panda Goddess!" "Panda Boss and Panda Goddess had a baby panda!"
The area was instantly filled with lively panda chatter.
"Huh? Hahaha! They're calling you Panda Goddess, Anda. They're really smart," Leyvi laughed.
It made sense that they would call him Panda God due to the Panda Affinity benefit effect, but calling her Panda Goddess too? That was unexpected. Then again… maybe Anda had a natural panda affinity herself. That would explain it.
Also, with everything going on lately, he hadn't taught them the human language yet, so she wouldn't be able to understand their words.
Even so, Anda's eyes sparkled like twin stars as she stared at the group of pandas.
Oh my goodness. They're such cute beings! I want to hug them! Their fur looks so fluffy! she screamed in her heart, but on the surface, she maintained a calm and composed expression to preserve her image in front of the adorable pandas. However, her round bottom still swayed left and right, her excitement leaking.
She took a breath and gently blinked. The light faded from her eyes as she began studying them seriously, her gaze moving left to right, then back again, examining each one in turn.
"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven… Leyvi, where did these seven cute pandas come from? Is it from the magical bamboo forest you mentioned?" Anda asked, eyes glued to the group. The pandas were still making lively noises, happily chattering among themselves about the Panda Goddess in front of them.
"Hahaha! You're right. They came straight to me thanks to the Panda Affinity benefit I possess. The moment we were about to leave, I thought, 'It doesn't feel right having only one panda in the house,' so I invited them. From now on, they're your followers. Do you like it?" Leyvi asked with a warm smile.
"I love it!" Anda wrapped her arms around his neck and showered his lips with quick, affectionate pecks.
"Look, look. Panda Goddess kiss Panda Boss." "Is she teaching us?" "Right, right. That must be it!" "Everyone, practice with Kanda. We learn!"
The six female pandas immediately took turns mimicking Anda, kissing Kanda, the only male panda in the group. Their oversized fluffy bodies and clumsy movements made the entire scene look absolutely ridiculous and adorable. Their chubby forms wobbled, making it more of a rolling tumble than a proper kiss.
Leyvi and Anda burst into laughter at the sight, the pandas' awkward proportions turning their imitation into a comical pile-up.
"I didn't expect this cutie to be the only male among them. Looks like he's heading for a harem life too. Perfect. He can just follow your example," Anda giggled.
"Eh? You can tell their gender? Which part do I look at to differentiate them?" Leyvi asked, genuinely surprised.
He couldn't tell at all. Dastan had also failed miserably at identifying their genders. But somehow, Anda saw through it all instantly.
"How? Isn't it obvious? You just look at them and you can immediately tell. Like how we look at a man and a woman, don't we just know right away?" Anda replied confidently.
Leyvi was dumbfounded. He stared at the pandas again, squinting slightly as if that would help reveal some hidden clue.
Hmm... I don't know where she's coming from. Where exactly is the obvious part?
The more he looked, the less it made sense. No matter how much he examined their faces, fur patterns, or even their posture, nothing screamed "male" or "female" to him. After several more seconds of pointless scrutiny, he finally reached a conclusion.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
"Anda, I think you were really a panda in your past life. And a little of your panda destiny carried over to this one. That's why it's so obvious to you. Because I seriously can't see it at all," Leyvi said, fully convinced.
He started picturing Anda in her previous life as a panda, probably rolling around goofily and tumbling off logs like them. The image made him grin.
Meanwhile, Anda was struggling to hold back her laughter, one hand gripping her stomach as it started to cramp from resisting the urge to burst out laughing.
Seeing her like that, Leyvi figured she was still amused by the pandas' antics.
The truth was, Anda could easily tell their gender apart by scent, just like she could with many other species. But Leyvi had clearly forgotten about that little ability of hers. Since it made the moment funnier, she had no intention of reminding him.
"Well, is that supposed to be a mystery at this point? Everyone who's seen me probably already thinks that way. So, it would be disrespectful not to act the part. If these adorable little ones believe I'm a panda goddess, then why not? I don't dislike it at all." She smiled brightly.
"Hahaha! That's my panda wife!" Leyvi said with a grin. "Alright, from now on, our family's official mascot is the panda! When we return, we'll design our family logo with a panda as the main symbol. After that, we'll ask Lilian to build a large bamboo garden, a sanctuary just for them. Every panda in the world will have a place there. Our Leyan Family will forever be linked with pandas. How does that sound?"
Anda's excitement reached its peak. She jumped into Leyvi's arms and hugged him like a true panda, showering his face with kisses. "Muah, muah, muah! Hehehe. What a wonderful idea. My husband really knows how to make his panda wife happy."
"Look, look! Panda Goddess demonstrate panda hug!" "We learn! We learn! Goddess teaching very precious!"
The female pandas eagerly tried to imitate Anda. They took turns leaping at Kanda's face, aiming for hugs and kisses, but ended up bouncing off one another in a clumsy pile.
Anda couldn't help but laugh watching their adorable failure.
After that, Leyvi introduced their names when Anda asked. She couldn't help but roll her eyes at the way he named them. They weren't much different from her own name, since they were all variations derived from "panda." Anda, Kanda, Wanda, Yanda, Fanda, Janda, Randa, and Manda.
She sighed. What if more pandas showed up later and all the letters in the alphabet were already used? Would they start using numbers too? Then she suddenly remembered how Lilian had already done exactly that when naming her demonic plants, and so she sighed again, this time deeper.
From the very beginning, Leyvi had intended the seven pandas to be a gift for her. To make it official, he dispersed his spiritual imprints from their sea of consciousness and allowed Anda to place hers instead, forming the bond of beast tamer. When these pandas eventually had children of their own, she would command a fluffy army capable of defeating enemies through sheer hilarity alone.
And with that, Anda was now one step closer to becoming a real Panda Goddess.
As they continued walking toward the mine, Anda spent a lot of time talking with the seven pandas. Now that their mental connection had bridged the language barrier, she was able to understand them clearly. Her curiosity grew as she asked them about their lives in the bamboo forest.
The pandas, in return, were just as curious about the small panda Anda carried in her hand. At first, they assumed it was her baby, but since it hadn't moved at all since they met her, they began to have doubts.
Anda explained that it was actually a spirit artifact, a weapon in disguise, though she doubted they would understand that concept. So instead of explaining further, she decided to demonstrate how the plush panda worked.
Leyvi also perked up with interest. He hadn't seen it in action yet and was clearly excited to find out what it could do.
She activated the spirit artifact's ability and aimed it at an empty area nearby. The plush panda immediately expanded, growing far larger than any of the seven pandas could manage at their current level. It leapt high into the air, then came crashing down with a massive butt slam that shook the ground and cracked the earth beneath. Without pausing, it followed up by furiously clawing the ground, kicking up dust and debris in all directions, until it finally ran out of power and shrank back into a harmless plush toy.
"So this is the attack pattern President Albert mentioned, huh? You used this to save Tamina, right?" Leyvi asked while nodding thoughtfully. He could tell the attacks packed serious power, as long as the first strike actually landed.
"Hehe, yup. I was pretty annoyed that it didn't finish the job before it ran out of spirit stones. After that, I tried to recruit Tamina, but failed because she already had a fiancé. Who would've thought her fiancé turned out to be someone who traveled with you." Anda chuckled at the coincidence.
Leyvi rolled his eyes. Of course. His panda wife never missed a chance to recruit someone, even in a situation like this.
Meanwhile, the seven pandas had been watching intently and came to a completely different conclusion. They thought their Panda Goddess was demonstrating a sacred combat technique. Inspired, they immediately began practicing it themselves.
And so, for the rest of the walk to the mine, the path echoed with the sound of pandas jumping, slamming their butts into the ground, and clawing wildly at the dirt. A moving parade of adorable chaos.
