Tokyo: Rabbit Officer and Her Evil Partner

Chapter 428: The Roar of Justice (Part 2)

The shockwave directly blew him away, his back clothes burned to shreds. In mid-air, he did a full Thomas spin, face hitting the ground, rolled in the ashes of grass and trees, and barely escaped death, surviving by sheer luck.

Minamoto Tamako rushed to support him, carrying Fushimi Roku to the inflatable raft's hiding spot, just in time to meet up with Kazama Tatsuya and the others. The five achieved their goal and, worried about Cat Island pursuers, quickly fled to the coastline.

When Fushimi Roku got on the boat, his skin color had changed — he was entirely black, with only his eyes and teeth visible. Officers cleaned him with a water gun, and paramedics carried him into the cabin for wound examination; a more thorough check would happen on land.

Don't be fooled by how he seems fine now, as ruptures in the internal organs can easily go unnoticed and cause death, which is very common on the battlefield.

After a blast attack, a comprehensive examination is necessary first and foremost.

The group refrained from disturbing the patient and stood around Minamoto Tamako and the others, asking for details about the assassination mission — the officer had privately indicated that the five-member team was handpicked by Chief Kujo, elite operatives secretly sent to the island to execute the assassination mission, aiming to eliminate the terrorist leader.

Now that the five members completed their mission and returned safely, it clearly showcased Chief Kujo's talent recognition, foresight, and effective leadership...

No matter what, Chief Kujo deserved the most credit.

Minamoto Tamako was uncertain of the situation, and the others were just as confused, except Watanabe Shunichi, who was as unfazed as ever.

Because he never understood the situation clearly.

With so many inquiries, Watanabe Shun felt it was a good opportunity to boast and was about to recount his heroic deeds on the island, like 'outsmarting the enemy by pretending to poop' and 'a single smoke turning to ashes in the flick of a finger'...

But before he could speak, the officer asked everyone to disperse and led them to the cabin to meet Chief Kujo.

Minamoto Tamako felt a bit guilty; as she passed across the deck and entered the cabin, she quietly asked Moriyama Yasurou, "Yasurou, why is my mom here? Did she see the capture action report I submitted? I thought the director wouldn't scrutinize it closely. Would she blame me for acting on my own?"

"Don't worry, she's still your mom."

Moriyama Yasurou looked at the situation openly; however it went, Minamoto Tamako was still Kujo Yua's daughter. Even if they caused a big stir, Kujo would just have to deal with it quietly.

Watanabe Shun commented from the side, "It'd be great to have a mom like that."

Kazama Tatsuya told Watanabe Shun to shut up as they were about to meet the chief. He hoped Watanabe Shun could restrain his impulsive words and think before speaking.

"I actually learned to think before I speak," Watanabe Shun complained, "but now I've reverted, and it's certainly not my fault."

Kazama Tatsuya's forehead showed veins as he had tolerated Watanabe Shun all night: "So what you're saying is that the problem's with me?"

Watanabe Shun said nothing, but his expression said 'yes'.

Kazama Tatsuya was about to give him a playful knock, but the officer stopped walking, signaling them to enter as Chief Kujo awaited inside. He had no choice but to glare at Watanabe Shun and whisper: "I'll deal with you later."

The four entered one after another, with Kujo Yua sitting on the office chair, already starting to write the report.

"No need to be too formal, just tell me what happened," Kujo Yua spoke casually, avoiding the prisoner's dilemma approach. Her gaze fell on her daughter: "Officer Tamako, you start."

Minamoto Tamako's back and neck were covered in soot, which she hadn't had a chance to clean. Caught off guard by her mother's call, she felt an itch on her neck, wanting to scratch it, but she stood upright.

"Yes! Chief Kujo!"

She shouted energetically yet guiltily.

Kazama Tatsuya and Moriyama Yasurou exchanged glances, quickly recalling in their minds whether they had done anything bad in front of Minamoto Tamako tonight.

Since this figure couldn't lie, Chief Kujo, being so astute, knew that Minamoto Tamako couldn't keep things hidden, and she'd definitely tell the truth.

A mother knows her daughter best, which was why Kujo Yua intentionally first asked Minamoto Tamako to report.

Minamoto Tamako dared not hide anything, and she spilled it all out truthfully.

"Initially, Mr. Deer speculated that the bomber was Uesugi Shion and opted to call in communication staff to monitor calls, which is why he wasn't present for the bomb-disposal mission..."

She long-learned her lesson and discreetly slipped in some personal content during the report, explaining Fushimi's reason for refusing to partake in the bomb-disposal mission.

These matters were truthful to her and, instead of lying to her mother, she had promised Mr. Deer to clarify this issue with her mother and the Police Department.

Then, Minamoto Tamako detailed the island landing and mission execution, recounting all her actions, making Kujo Yua's expression somewhat intriguing, her gaze towards her daughter had slightly changed.

Finally, Minamoto Tamako reached the highlight, namely Uesugi Shion's demise.

"Mr. Deer and I agreed that he'd walk ahead, and I would definitely cover him from behind, providing backup whenever he needed..."

"He surely trusted me, which is why he complied with Uesugi Shion's request, voluntarily dropping the knife, handcuffing himself, and renouncing any resistance..."

"At the critical moment, he called me, but I didn't answer, knowing he was signaling me to shoot, so I pulled the trigger..."

"Because I had been aiming from afar, secretly adjusting a few shots, and ultimately, the crucial bullet hit Uesugi Shion's head..."
