The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office is the headquarters building of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, one of the iconic buildings in the Shinjuku subcenter.
Construction began in 1988, at the peak of Japan's bubble economy. Its luxurious governor's office and high maintenance costs sparked controversy over "wasting taxpayers' money," and it was mockingly referred to as the "Bubble Tower."
At the end of last December, this Bubble Tower was officially completed. By April of this year, the Tokyo City Government officially moved in, replacing the old office building in Marunouchi.
Bombing the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office is equivalent to declaring war on the government.
Minamoto Tamako felt a jolt of electricity from head to toe.
Her first reaction was 'could it be that Uesugi Shion is the real culprit of the Heavenly Punishment,' and only the second reaction was 'is it true they're going to bomb the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office'... What on earth is that guy after? If he really bears a grudge against Fushimi-kun, he should just go after Fushimi-kun, what kind of skill is it to bully innocent bystanders!
Fushimi Roku's premonition was confirmed, Uesugi Shion did what he said and really released Taira Sakurako, then issued a terrorist attack warning in the name of Heavenly Punishment.
Even One Piece wouldn't dare draw it like this, declaring war on the World Government would just burn a flag at most, while Uesugi Shion directly went to bomb the Holy Land Mary Joa, you could only say reality is more magical than film.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department went into a state of level one alert, the entire first to third sections of the Public Security General Affairs Department were dispatched, conducting a thorough search, vowing to drag out every member of the Uesugi family.
The Police Protection Section escorted politicians out of the government building, the Traffic Investigation Section blockaded routes, and the recently established Organized Crime Countermeasures Department also allocated many personnel, temporarily pausing efforts against gangs, all focused on investigating the source of explosives.
The whole of Tokyo was in a state of panic, with a foreboding sense of a storm brewing.
Minamoto Tamako saw off Sister Yalan, exchanged pleasantries with Taira Sakurako. The latter wasn't too frightened, maybe because she previously had dealings with Uesugi Shion, her brain waves were on the same wavelength as that lunatic, so her emotions were relatively stable, and she was even in the mood to ask Minamoto Tamako what she was eating and if she had prepared her dinner.
Fushimi Roku temporarily added to the meal for Taira Sakurako, Minamoto Tamako's appetite slightly recovered. The two of them sat at the dining table, eating heartily.
Originally, Minamoto Tamako's poor mood affected her appetite, she planned to just nibble on a couple of bites to get by, but she didn't expect the food to taste better and better, she just couldn't stop chewing with her cheeks puffed out, she ate two bowls of rice in a row, burped contentedly, and put down her chopsticks.
"Thank you for the meal."
She put her hands together and expressed gratitude according to Japanese dining etiquette.
Taira Sakurako, lacking in manners, or rather hadn't been taught such things by her family, just threw her chopsticks down after finishing, placed a 100 yen coin at the bottom of her bowl as dishwashing fee, and slapped her backside, ready to head back to her room to rest.
Fushimi Roku didn't mind, he was used to it, after all, it was Minamoto Tamako who would end up washing the dishes, he wouldn't be the one getting tired anyway.
Right now, he had more important things to do.
Once Taira Sakurako returned to her room, Fushimi Roku brought the topic back up, "Where did we leave off earlier?"
Minamoto Tamako hadn't forgotten, her memory was quite good, they were discussing "things couples should do."
Now that Sakurako was back, there were no worries, they were both full and satisfied, it seemed like they should, could, maybe have that conversation.
Adults should talk about adult topics!
Minamoto Tamako's face felt a little hot, she instinctively straightened her back, looked down at her toes, palms slightly sweaty, couldn't help but rub them back and forth on her knees.
"Just... that thing... things couples should do... burp!"
Minamoto Tamako was just full, her stomach was a bit stretched, she straightened her back, her lower abdomen was pressed, couldn't help but burp.
Oh, how embarrassing! How could she let out such a burp without any decorum, as a lady?
When she lived with Mother back in the day, she'd never do such things, would just keep her mouth closed, let the burp pass quietly, then exhale.
Now living with Fushimi-kun, it felt like her etiquette in life was becoming more relaxed, she didn't even properly arrange her shoes at the door earlier, just kicked off her little shoes and ran inside.
Perhaps it was because Fushimi Roku usually didn't pay much attention to personal image, she was influenced by him and went astray.
Hmm, it must be Fushimi-kun who led her astray!
"Oh right, you almost made me forget," Fushimi Roku feigned ignorance, continuing to play dumb, "What exactly are those things couples should do?"
Minamoto Tamako sensed Fushimi Roku's malicious intent. She was already a bit shy, but Fushimi-kun kept pressing, he was definitely doing it on purpose!
She huffed, turned her face away, hands on her knees, and looked outside the living room, "It's nothing."
"Eh — if you don't make it clear, I'll be very troubled," Fushimi Roku pretended to be distressed, giving off a look like a pure big boy who "completely doesn't understand adult topics."
"Now's not the time to talk about this," Minamoto Tamako employed the same old trick, "Uesugi Shion hasn't been caught, Jun's revenge hasn't been achieved, how can we waste our energy on such matters?"
"You're right."
Fushimi Roku acknowledged, he also wanted to settle scores with Uesugi Shion, "So, what do you think we should do now?"
Minamoto Tamako was at a loss.
Thinking about it closely, there really seemed to be nothing they could do.
Kujo Yua made it clear that as involved parties, they should, in principle, step back. The Public Security Section wouldn't allow them to partake in anti-terrorism operations, and the Police Department had no extra manpower to allocate to them. Even Watanabe Shun, who'd always been slacking off, had been redeployed. Now, they had no people, no clues, and could only wait for news at home.
