Maid with Necromancy

Glimpses - Twelve

Threnody- 12

On the edge of pulling her hair out but unable to want in any other way, Threnody set the copy of volume two of Lady White's observation on skills down, with the reverence and respect one would give to a deadly snake. The deeply personal text would be the source material for a new curriculum to train staff and students. The Gave Society would call the information heretical, and that was only the part she could understand because the book referenced dozens of texts she'd been unable to track down.

"Harmony read the entirety of Lordy Tyler's collection of unusual texts. You can skip the references you don't recognize."

Ambrosia's off-hand comment made it all the more frustrating. It's not like she could corner Harmony with her off in the Ascendant Games, nor would it be appropriate to accost her new employer in that way if she were available. Ambrosia had to know Harmony spent pages contemplating the woman's singing skills as a natural talent outside of the maid and beast tamer's class and professional skills. Detailed notes about pursuing talents unrestricted by their choices, and how those should be embraced. The Songstress's muse also used her as a muse when writing theory!

A knock. "Theonody, do you have some time?" Gustov asked through the door

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

The boy she'd dragged with her to Hazeldown after hearing of Lady White's departure, A genius better served away from the Grave Society. The perfect tool to test the theories that their new royal necromancer presented. "Come in."

The bashful young man was more tongue-tied than usual. "Training has, um, been going well. The visualization techniques have pushed my [Burial] skill past my class level. I'm hoping to do another run at old bones so I can finally get a new choice. I was wondering if you could help arrange a team for me."

Organizing that fell under her new role as Head of Training and Development at White Manor. But she'd left a sign-up sheet in the meal room for people to find groups. "I can't imagine you'll have a difficult time finding a group."

"No, I was wondering if you could arrange for me to be on a diving party with Bea. Our schedules are so different, it's one of the few ways I might be able to get to know her."

Bea. Bea. Bea. The name wasn't ringing any bells. The staff was growing large, but there were only a few people she'd never met personally. A night shift worker? They usually tried to alternate those on the night shift to have some day ones as well. Had to be a person who requested to be only on that shift.

The boy was clearly smitten. Workplace relationships were not banned, but they were frowned upon. Too much drama could cost someone their job. If Gustov required her to arrange for a team dungeon dive, then it was clearly unrequited. It would be best for him to earn his broken heart early. "I'll see what I can do."
