Peach Blossom Divine Medical God

Chapter 1413: Who's Behind It

Chen Yang was silent, carefully pondering the problem in his heart.

But no matter how hard he thought, he couldn't figure it out.

"I really can't think of anything," Chen Yang said.

Seeing that Chen Yang was also clueless, Wu Kexin and Li Han's expressions grew more serious.

"This could be troublesome. If we can't figure out who is causing the trouble behind the scenes, there's no way for us to solve the problem."

Chen Yang understood the severity of the matter.

If this continues, the cost of their project will double.

"Kexin, Li Han, there should still be a lot of accumulated materials at our construction site, right? How long can those sustain the progress?" Chen Yang paused and stopped discussing who might be behind it, instead asking how long their remaining materials at home could last.

"At the current pace, three days at most, and they'll be completely used up," Li Han replied.

"Three days." Chen Yang thought for a moment and then said, "Then let's not order new stock for these three days. I'll try to investigate and see who is behind this. If we can't clarify or resolve the issue in three days, we'll think of other ways."

Upon hearing this, Wu Kexin and Li Han nodded in agreement.

For now, that's all they could do.

Once they finished discussing the issue, Chen Yang didn't stay in the office much longer.

After chatting with them about other topics for a while, Chen Yang left the office alone and returned to the clinic.

He had rushed out in the morning, leaving many things at home undone.

By the time Chen Yang finished his chores, it was almost dark.

Just as he was about to make dinner for himself, a medium-sized truck drove into the village and stopped in front of Chen Yang's clinic.

Hearing the commotion, Chen Yang came out of the house.

As he reached the doorway, he saw Tan Jing, wearing work clothes, stepping down from the truck.

"Tan Jing, what are you doing here?" Chen Yang was quite surprised to see Tan Jing.

With a smile, Tan Jing approached and pointed at the truck, saying, "The case has been resolved. I brought the wild chickens back for you."

"Oh, thanks, and sorry for the trouble of coming personally," Chen Yang quickly responded politely, expressing his gratitude.

Tan Jing rolled her eyes at this.

"Why are you being so polite with me? Are you teasing me?" Tan Jing said.

Chen Yang quickly shook his head. "No, no."

Tan Jing rolled her eyes again but didn't dwell on it.

"The wild chickens are back. Find a place for them. They've been in the police station all day. Don't let them get hurt," Tan Jing suggested.

Chen Yang thought the same.

These wild chickens had been locked up all day without food or water, which could indeed be a problem.

"Alright, I'll take care of it," Chen Yang nodded, then immediately went to the truck and opened all the cages.

Tan Jing was amazed by this scene and quickly ran over.

"Chen Yang, what are you doing? Aren't you afraid the wild chickens will all run away if you open the cages like this?" Tan Jing said anxiously.

Chen Yang chuckled and said, "Don't worry about that. I know my wild chickens; they won't run away."

After speaking, Chen Yang turned to look at the wild chickens still inside the cage and ordered them to fly back to the farm and find food.

A moment ago, the wild chickens were still sitting quietly in their cages, but the next moment, upon hearing Chen Yang's command, they went wild, rushed out of the cage, and flew toward the overgrown grass in succession.

Seeing this, Tan Jing was quite shocked.

But then she thought about what had happened at the market that morning and decided it wasn't all that strange.

It wasn't anything out of the ordinary.

"Impressive, you can even tame wild chickens! I'm finding it harder and harder to understand you," Tan Jing said, giving a thumbs up.

"Haha, it's nothing special. Just learned a couple of rural tricks," Chen Yang said lightly, waving off the praise, then jumped off the truck and returned to Tan Jing's side, asking, "Want to come in for some tea before you go?"

"Sure, I'd like to sit for a while and see what your place is like," Tan Jing was very interested in Chen Yang's life, so even though it was getting late, she wanted to stay a bit longer.

Chen Yang had no objections and warmly invited Tan Jing into his home.

Once inside, Chen Yang initially arranged for Tan Jing to sit in the clinic while he poured her a cup of tea.

But Tan Jing couldn't sit still. Like she was visiting a new place, she sipped tea while wandering around assessing Chen Yang's home.

She started with the clinic and, following the layout of Chen Yang's house, looked at the infirmary, living quarters, kitchen, and finally arrived at the backyard.

Chen Yang's home was a typical farm setup.

While the house wasn't new, it wasn't old either. It had a rural feel, comfortable to live in.

Especially with a large yard behind the house, it gave a secluded, rustic farm vibe.

"Your place is nice, seems very cozy to live in," Tan Jing remarked with a smile in the backyard.

Chen Yang had been following her, walking side by side.

Hearing this, he smiled slightly and replied, "It's alright, typical farmers' yard layout, nothing unusual."

Woof woof.

No sooner had Chen Yang finished speaking than there came the sound of Wang Cai barking from the doghouse, and something black darted out swiftly.

It finally stopped at Chen Yang's feet, wagging its tail, looking for food.

Most girls might be scared when a wolfdog suddenly rushes out.

But not Tan Jing. Given her profession, she's often interacted with police dogs and showed no fear, even expressing fondness for Wang Cai.

She reached out, intending to pet Wang Cai.

Wang Cai was good-tempered with familiar people but was notorious for putting on a fierce act with strangers, as fierce as it could be!

Woof...

"Wang Cai! Quiet! This is a friend, no barking!"

Just as it was about to act up, Chen Yang noticed and immediately scolded it to prevent any outburst.

Aw oo...

Upon hearing Chen Yang's scolding, the dog instantly deflated and stopped barking.

Allowing Tan Jing to pet it at will.

Tan Jing smiled brightly as she patted Wang Cai.

"You have a dog, too. It looks great, probably quite smart, right?" Tan Jing said with a smile.

"Yes," Chen Yang nodded without modesty, affirming Wang Cai's extraordinary abilities.

Being a spiritual beast, after all, it's far superior to an ordinary dog.

"I usually take Wang Cai with me to gather herbs in the mountains. This guy's nose is incredibly sensitive; it can sniff out good herbs from afar," Chen Yang said with a grin.

Hearing this, Tan Jing looked quite surprised. "Really? Is it that amazing?"

"Of course, why would I lie to you?" Chen Yang nodded assertively, affirming its remarkable skills.

Woof woof.

And Wang Cai, it seems, understood Tan Jing's words.

Upon hearing someone doubt its abilities, it barked twice to express its dissatisfaction.

Tan Jing was amused by Wang Cai's reaction.

"This fellow does seem really smart and clever," she said, patting Wang Cai's head with a smile and standing up.

Chen Yang then casually took a couple of elixirs from his pocket and tossed them to Wang Cai.

Wang Cai caught the elixirs and, without wasting a moment, dashed back to its kennel like the wind.
