Tempest of the Stellar War

Chapter 1341 - Troubled Times

Chapter 1341: Troubled Times

This was the most violent incident since the establishment of the Milky Way Alliance.

There was opposition, but it had no effect. This incident completely angered the Arbiter Republic. It didn’t matter whether or not the Arbiter Republic did have any relationship with the Saint now. The Arbiter Republic certainly wasn’t going to take it lying down. There was one point worth fighting for. The Arbiter Republic had military strength, and the domestic emotions were running high, all the more so now that they had been trampled on.

The Arbiter Republic wasn’t about to carry this responsibility. They issued a direct broadcast to the Milky Way Alliance and the Arbiter Republic simultaneously.

Arbiter’s President, Matt Wheeler, recounted painfully to the citizens of the Arbiter Republic about the happenings at the Milky Way Alliance. Parliament had become the minions of the Aslan Empire. Innocent statesmen of the Arbiter Republic had been killed with no evidence nor trial, even though they clearly represented the Arbiter Republic there.

This was all a ploy of the Aslan Empire the whole time. The Arbiter Republic would not bow down to any invaders. Not only that, the Arbiter Republic had the ability and responsibility to defend the lives and dignity of every citizen, with the latter being more important.

The Arbiter Republic was declaring war on the Aslan Empire!

After only about half an hour, Kashawen, the Prime Minister of the Aslan Empire, had also made a public speech with more anger and hurt than Matt Wheeler’s. Her speech provoked more passion and ridiculed the “invaders” of the Arbiter Republic artfully. The Aslan Empire had always been committed to maintaining world peace and democracy. In the face of such provocation, the Aslan Empire swore to defend the freedom of every human with the royal family leading by example!

There were only that many countries in the Milky Way Alliance that had such prowess. The only ones with advanced technology and civilization were Aslan, Atlantis, and Maya, with the Atlanteans and the Mayans being completely different. They had therefore been strengthening their hold in the democratic party, promoting the strengthening of parliament. This wasn’t a very good sign. Once they tasted the sweetness, it was a matter of time before royalty became a thing of the past. Therefore, they had been strengthening the image of the royal family and the image of the two princesses. These were still superficial nonetheless. Kashawen knew that the people desired war.

This wasn’t only a matter of ambition. The democratic party could be destroyed completely whether they won or lost the war. The royal family would continue to reign even more strongly.

Kashawen knew her place and position because of all these factors. That was why Constantine didn’t need to use too much effort to convince her all those years back. However, Aina was now a headache.

Rationally, Aina should be the one addressing the crowd, influencing and encouraging them. She was influential amongst the people. A great number of people would fight for her. Even shouting a slogan would have a great boost and become one of the greatest weapons.

However, Aina rejected this role. She was unable to betray her country and family but was also unable to deceive others. Aina didn’t feel that the Aslan Empire really needed a royal family either. Perhaps it was because of her education and exposure, but Aina felt that the royal family did still have certain advantages. They could perhaps even try to combine with parliament. Their power would diminish, but so would their responsibilities. That wasn’t a guarantee that the Aslan Empire would degrade.

Of course, she also knew that these were all an illusion, a “naive” way of thinking. There was no need to talk about it at all.

Aina was watching Kashawen’s speech. She knew the passion of her country would be ignited and the outcome was now fixed. No one could stop this war. The two major empires and their allies had already begun their preparations.

The war might begin any time. They were now seeking support and allies because they knew that this battle would determine the next major power in the Milky Way Alliance. They would try to make the other countries an ally, or at least neutral with all their might. One enemy less was always better.

Wang Zheng and the rest on the space shuttle were dumbfounded when they saw it. If Old Merchant was right, this meant that the Aslan Empire had just destroyed the effective power of the Milky Way Alliance without breaking a sweat. The Arbiter Republic wasn’t that weak, but this blow wasn’t something to be ignored. Arbiter would have a hard time, especially with the hidden dark forces of the Saint.

Mars and Olivios were silent. The others could feel their determination for the glory of their country, especially when they were framed. They might not be able to show the truth, but they could fight for Arbiter.

Wang Zheng wasn’t of much use in this battle. He was an outstanding warrior, but in war, one person was very small. The attitude of the Solar System Federation wasn’t important, what was critical here was the attitude of the Federal Republic of Manalasuo.

Mars and Olivios begged Jondi Lilick for help. At least he could report to the higher echelons of Manalasuo if he were to go back.

Jondi Lilick naturally agreed. It was the truth anyway. Moreover, Aslan probably had something even more sinister in mind.

Meng Tian would also head back and talk to her father, Meng Ao. Wang Zheng was caught in a bind as well. He was certain about the truth, but was he going to lead a bunch of titans to war with Aslan?

Only Xie Yuxin kept his cool. “At this juncture, the truth is not important anymore. What can be gained will be the deciding factor to determine which faction they will join.”

That silenced everyone. Even if there was evidence, it would probably be a chip on the negotiation table. This was the world they were facing, not their school, where one was one, two was two. No leader of a country would lose countless warriors for a “truth.”

“Yuxin, we might not be able to decide our fate, but we can think what we can do,” Wang Zheng said.

“It’s our greatest honor to know everyone. We might not be on the same side in this war. If such a day comes when we are on opposing sides on the battlefield, please don’t go easy on us!” Mars said in a deep, low voice filled with pride.

In the Arbiter Republic.

The Aegis Star was the gateway to the empire. The strongest Gaia Fleet was stationed there.

However, at this time, there was only one third of the force present.

The Arbiter Republic had sent their greatest forces out with the possibility of gaining control of the Milky Way Alliance.

At this time, a black space shuttle approached from outside of the Aegis Star’s defense system.

It had a sharp and prominent shape and had the special engravings of the Saint at both sides of the ship.

“Master, please give the order,” Tan Yuyang said respectfully.

“Connect us to Somnus.”

The communication screen on the other end lit up and a gloomy old man appeared on it.

“What are you doing here now? Haven’t we been hurt enough by you?! You’re courting death!” Somnus’s narrow eyes looked at the Second Elder and became even darker. As the chief of intelligence of Arbiter, he knew who this was. All these years, Arbiter did have some level of connection with the Saint. That was the truth, but they had really been framed this time.

“Hehe, don’t jump the gun. This matter was set up by Constantine and Aslan, it has nothing to do with us. Don’t you think we have a possibility of working together? I also believe that you’ll need our power!” The Second Elder smiled.

“How would I know if this is a ploy or not!?”

“My dear Chief, my goal is to become the ruler of the Saint, your goal is to get rid of Aslan. Our desired results are the same. I’ll contact you again.” The Second Elder cut the connection off once he was done speaking.

It wasn’t time now. Arbiter would need him after the battle went on its way for a while. His bargaining chip would be better then. Before that, he had to find Wang Zheng and obtain the Oracle. Adding on to Arbiter’s power to all of this, his era was nearing.

Did those gentry have blue blood?
