Sigrdrifa arrived at the Great Arena and saw that it was already in complete ruins.
The decay and ruin were to be expected. In the Solomon Empire, there was a tradition when they couldn't defeat outside enemies—they would release the gladiators, saying "you're free," and then arm them as part of the garrison.
Considering that Constantinople had changed hands thrice, from the East Solomon Empire to the Latin Empire, then to the Seljuk Empire, and finally back to the East Solomon Empire, even the city's citizens had been shuffled several times, let alone the gladiators here.
Sigrdrifa silently passed the betting booths for the duels, heading down to the training ground area. She saw that everything was gone, from the weapon racks to the benches and blankets used by the gladiators for rest.
Her fingers lightly brushed the walls, which bore distinct chisel marks on the black stone bricks, marks she had made while practicing axe strikes out of boredom.
Each chisel mark represented a bit of confusion in her heart.
She once thought she would be a pirate for life, but unintentionally provoked nobles, resulting in all her pirate comrades being killed, their ship lost, and she escaped death by jumping into the sea.
After that, she wandered from the North to here, stumbling along aimlessly, not knowing what to do the next day, just wandering toward life's end until she collapsed.
Someone like her didn't deserve to have any dreams in the first place.
After being a gladiator for a while, she wanted to leave Constantinople and continue wandering eastward... Fortunately, in her final days there, she miraculously met Aske.
That encounter changed her life forever.
"Aske..." Sigrdrifa said softly.
"Actually, I just wanted to find a place where I could belong."
"Thank you."
The North Wind Axe suddenly appeared in her hand.
"Now, I have a place to go," Sigrdrifa said with a smile, looking at the chisel marks on the wall, "Let my past..."
"be buried here."
She raised the North Wind Axe and swung it lightly in a spin.
Time seemed to stand still for a moment—this was her fifth law skill, [Termination].
The essence of the "Extinction" law is "nothingness." If Peggy's Death Law forcefully imposed the result of 'nothing,' then her Extinction Law imposed the process of becoming 'nothing' upon the target.
It seems somewhat similar, yet fundamentally different.
As the North Wind Axe swung, everything around was briefly severed: mass, heat, and... time, as if all things came to a standstill for an instant.
Sigrdrifa emerged from the arena's basement, squinting slightly up at the warm sun above.
Then, behind her, the entire arena suddenly collapsed—the pillars in the basement were the first to break, as if cut by something, followed by the surrounding supporting walls. The cracks from this structural destruction quickly spread until the entire underground part of the arena was completely ruined.
The surrounding residents rushed out of their homes in a panic and stared at the now-collapsed Great Arena in shock. They initially thought it was an earthquake, but now it seemed more like the decay and collapse of a building that had been standing for years.
Then they saw a Norman girl with long white hair walking quietly away from the arena, her silver-white hair so pure that mere observation felt like their gaze was being devoured.
Gradually, her figure turned to nihility and vanished into the air.
The sudden collapse of the Great Arena was quickly reported to the Golden Governance Palace. Theodora looked at the reports from the Church spies, and just from the description of "a girl with long silver-white hair wielding an axe," she already guessed who it was.
Sigrdrifa, oh Sigrdrifa, why did you unreasonably demolish my Great Arena?
Theodora thought irritably, losing focus for a moment before looking up and sensing the disturbance in the cosmic law spectrum.
This disturbance was stronger than before, even exceeding the intensity of Miel's Fate Law, approaching Aske's War Law (though still slightly below), and then the symbols representing the Extinction Law whirled before her eyes, ultimately forming a title.
The End of Frost.
Frost, meaning deprivation of energy; End, meaning termination, the annihilation of time. From the literal meaning alone, one could tell that a formidable demigod adept at battle and destruction had been born, attracting the attention of all demigods on the Helel planet, including those across the three major planes, who all turned their gaze toward the main plane's Constantinople.
So, did the newly ascended demigod originate from the Orthodox Church?
In Nicaea City, Anatolia, Emperor Solomon stood on the city wall gazing at the distant Sea of Marmara, tightening his robe without any change in expression.
If he hadn't heeded Camellia's advice to retreat from Constantinople in time, he would now likely be facing the power of extinction from this newly ascended demigod.
In the Sunken Palace, little Mia was rowing a boat with Miel when they saw flickering lights ahead.
Several people quickly intercepted them with their rowboat, relaxing slightly when they saw the intruders were two little girls.
Since the Seljuk Empire had conquered Constantinople, Emperor Solomon had issued a three-day order to not sheathe swords, allowing his troops to slaughter, loot, and capture the Christians in the city.
Some residents fled into the Saint Sophia Cathedral, surviving after three days thanks to the Emperor's order not to damage the cathedral.
Another portion of residents—typically those connected with the Thief Guild—secretly hid in the Sunken Palace, surviving self-sufficiently for four long years.
After the city was recaptured by Theodora, the residents here learned of the outside news and quickly split into two factions.
One faction intended to return to life under the sun, while the other believed the Seljuks had merely retreated to Anatolia and could return anytime, so it was better to remain hidden for a while longer.
However, as the situation outside stabilized swiftly, the atmosphere in the Sunken Palace gradually relaxed, and residents began moving out daily. Given this, when little Mia and Miel suddenly barged in, the people extended a certain degree of kindness.
If it had been during the Seljuk rule, not to mention two little girls, even two pigs rowing in would have been met with gunfire.
After explaining the situation outside to the residents there, the two girls gained the freedom to move around. Mia eagerly dragged Miel around, explaining that this place was once the Thief Guild's hideout for stolen goods, over there was Uncle Mastero's residence...
Suddenly, the two looked up, also sensing the disturbance in the cosmic law spectrum.
The law of that newly ascended demigod... could make space static and time fracture, causing both Mia and Miel to instinctively feel apprehensive.
