The Lich of Glory Knight Spirit: Moving towards Krimasha!

Chapter 35: Trading (3)

Sneakily, Angel took advantage of the fact that her mother hadn't returned yet, donned a hat and scarf, and stepped outside, covering her face and head completely.

"Are you sure you want to do this? Using fire under the sacred tree is a very serious crime... After all, everything here is made of wood."

"Do you know what the principle of legality is?"

"I read about it in a book."

"Then that's it. Only the Elf Judge can convict you. Before being convicted, you're innocent. If you don't get caught, who could convict you?"

"And what if I do get caught?"

"Trust me, you won't get caught."

Standing on the balcony, Jones watched as Angel sneaked down the spiral staircase, blending into the bustling crowd of the marketplace.

About half an hour later...

"I'll head to the training grounds to practice, and then pass by the boiler room on my way home." Staring at the only spot in Cartier with a chimney, Angel muttered softly to herself: "Since I'll be all sweaty, I'll want to take a shower. I'll go in... and just so happen to encounter a fire in the boiler room..."

"Exactly, just like that," the devil egged her on from beside her ear: "Go for it, pal. You just need to start a fire, you don't even need to be hurt. As long as your parents hear about it, the problem will be solved."

"I get it now." Taking her first steps, Angel made her way toward the boiler room.

Before she could get too close, the flower fairy guarding the entrance stopped her—a fairy no bigger than a hand, complete with wings.

He stared at Angel and said, "Hello, the bathhouse is that way. This here is the boiler room."

"Oh... okay, sorry, I went the wrong way." Angel had no choice but to retreat: "What do I do now? I forgot that taking a bath doesn't require entering the boiler room. The boiler room and the bathhouse are separate, and there's a guard posted here."

"Figure it out! You can't keep relying on me; must I solve even simple problems like this for you?" The devil grumbled.

Angel's gaze flickered uncertainly.

After some hesitation, she slipped into a nearby corner, watching the flower fairy at the entrance from a distance.

"Use whatever trick you used to defeat Amos. Solving one flower fairy should be easy, shouldn't it?"

"Okay... fine, I'll try." Angel drew a deep breath, quietly casting a blessing spell on herself before sneaking closer to about five meters from the entrance. Then, she threw a stone to another area, creating a mild disturbance, and took advantage of the flower fairy's distraction to slip inside. As she walked, she muttered under her breath: "If only I could use psychic magic, none of this would be necessary."

"Well then start learning it! You've already been admitted to the Magic Academy, so you should focus on psychic magic next." The devil responded softly.

Perhaps for fire safety reasons, the boiler room was constructed differently from the other buildings; it was built entirely of stone.

Upon entering the boiler room, the first thing Angel saw was a long corridor. She hurried down it, taking two steps at a time.

"This way!" The devil screamed.

Angel quickly turned back and came to a stop in front of a heavy iron door.

She gently pushed the door ajar, revealing a large room.

The room was filled with piles of coal, and even the walls were smeared with coal dust. The temperature was at least twenty degrees higher than outside, and the entire space was bathed in a fiery red glow.

In the center stood a massive furnace, with two burly centaurs shoveling coal into it with great effort.

"Every door is iron... I feel like it's practically impossible for this place to catch fire."

"It wouldn't have been possible before, but now that you're here, doesn't that change things?"

"But a fire will surely attract attention quickly. How am I supposed to escape? And what about those two centaurs—how do I deal with them?" Angel's face was full of panic.

The devil gave her a meaningful look, and the atmosphere grew tense.

After a long while, the devil finally said softly, "Angel, I don't believe you can't find a way."

"Alright..." Angel hesitated, then lowered her head.

...

"Bang!"

A thunderous blast rang out, fire burst forth in all directions. The back wall of the boiler room collapsed.

...

Jones, who was on the balcony with his "water drop" spell active, heard everything clearly and hurried over to watch from a distance. From his position, he could see thick smoke billowing into the sky.

"What's going on?"

...

"What's going on?" The elves in the bathhouse looked at one another in bewilderment.

Wrapping towels around their waists, several bolted outside to see what was happening.

"Not good! The boiler room exploded!" One of the soot-covered centaurs, the coal-shoveler from the boiler room, shouted as he ran out: "Quick, help put out the fire!"

"Help put out the fire! Hurry! Where are the buckets?" Chaos erupted as elves dashed about frantically.

"Are there mages here? Quick, use water magic!"

"I'm a fire mage!"

"Fire mages, step aside!"

A swarm of towel-clad elves grabbed buckets and charged into the boiler room in a frenzy.

Black smoke and white smoke intermingled, creating utter pandemonium.

Angel quietly slipped out of the scene, smearing soot on her face and grabbing an empty bucket someone had dropped. Blending in with the firefighting crew, she joined them in pretending to extinguish the fire.

She muttered under her breath, "Combining wind magic with fire magic can amplify the power of fire magic."

"Yes, you're quite clever; I always knew you'd figure it out." The devil nodded approvingly.

At long last, the fire was finally put out.

The bathhouse owner stared at the half-collapsed boiler room, the chaotic mess of the bathhouse, and the injured individuals, utterly speechless.
