The Immortal Seeker: Legend of Bronze Mirror

Chapter 348: Asura Banner (Part 2)

Xu Qing curiously asked, "What exactly are these top-tier magical artifacts?"

Zhao Jing explained, "These types of magical treasures are called Innate Spiritual Treasures, all of which were born from the essence of the Great Dao at the beginning of time."

Xu Qing further inquired, "With the strength of our Pure Yang Dao Sect, couldn't we acquire one or two Innate Spiritual Treasures?"

Zhao Jing shook his head with a bitter smile, and said, "There's an unknown case here. Back then, the Four Great Daoist Sects made an oath together: if anyone outside of the Four Great Daoist Sects possesses an Innate Spiritual Treasure, then the cultivators all over the world would rise to attack them."

Xu Qing said in surprise, "Such a thing exists?" In his mind, he instantly thought of his own bronze mirror and the old demon's Taiqing Bell, and silently mused, "If these two treasures were known to the Four Great Daoist Sects, that would be disastrous..." Thinking of his usual conflicts with the old demon, Xu Qing couldn't help but have the thought of reporting the old demon.

Zhao Jing continued, "Even though there is this oath, if someone truly holds an Innate Spiritual Treasure, the Four Great Daoist Sects would find it difficult to determine exactly who they are. After all, these people often possess great Qi Fortune, and if they fail to subdue them, they would only make an enemy in vain. Junior Brother, are you aware of the Jiuli World?"

Xu Qing nodded and said, "I've heard a little about it."

Zhao Jing lowered his voice mysteriously and said, "In the Jiuli World, the Barbarian King possesses a treasure called the Asura Banner, and this treasure is categorized as an Innate Spiritual Treasure. The Barbarian King has cultivated Chiyou's True Body and has control over the Asura Banner. In our Pure Yang Dao Sect, it is feared that only the ancestors Pure Yang and Chongyang could surpass him."

Know that the Ancestor Pure Yang and Ancestor Chongyang are quasi-Sect Leader-level existences within the Four Great Daoist Sects. The term Sect Leader here does not refer to the usual Sect Master but specifically to the founders of the Four Great Daoist Sects. In the Taixu Universe, those who reach the quasi-Sect Leader level can essentially walk anywhere unhindered. As for those at the Sect Leader level, they are powerful enough to challenge the Three Pure Ones Realm, even able to battle against once renowned figures like Ziwei and the Longevity Great Emperor without falling behind.

In the Pure Yang Realm, Xu Qing's true body was sitting quietly in a secluded chamber, cultivating in closed-door meditation. Suddenly, he opened his eyes sharply.

At this moment, a simple bronze mirror was floating in front of him. The bronze mirror quivered slightly, emitting a faint humming sound. The surface of the mirror rippled with waves, gradually revealing a shadowy vision of a strange world.

The sky appeared an eerie blood-red, as if soaked in blood, with a million barbarian warriors, led by a Barbarian King, dancing madly around a massive bronze altar. They wore beast skin armor, their faces painted with mysterious totems, and their mouths emitted deafening shouts, reverberating throughout the heavens and earth.

At the center of the altar stood a massive black banner, its surface embroidered with grimacing skulls, each flagpole entwined with the flesh, organs, and divine souls of powerful beings, exuding a nauseating bloody stench.

Xu Qing came to a realization that this was indeed the Asura Banner, and the Barbarian King should be the Jiuli Barbarian King.

Each eye on the banner seemed to come alive, spewing out billowing black mist as if to devour the whole world.

Suddenly, the bronze mirror began to shiver intensely, its surface undulating like tumultuous waves. Xu Qing's pupils constricted sharply, his gaze fixed on the scene within the mirror.

Under the blood-red sky, the Asura Banner slowly unfolded, and every fold of its surface resembled a colossal black hole, frantically consuming the surrounding void. Simultaneously, a hundred thousand barbarian war drums resounded, the dull thundering like rolling thunder, causing pain in the eardrums of those who heard it. Black blood congealed on the drum skin dripped continuously along with the drumsticks, quickly gathering around the altar to form a foul-smelling blood river.

"Hummm—" The bronze mirror emitted a sound akin to a dragon's roar, and the scene within the mirror suddenly became crystal clear. Xu Qing clearly saw eight hundred and ten beating immortal hearts on the flag's surface, each potent beat unleashing waves of blood-red ripples, spreading outward like the ripples of a stone tossed into water.

When the Asura Banner fully unfurled, the entire world's space seemed seized by an invisible giant hand. The million barbarians raised a collective, inhuman roar, their voices crashing down like a landslide, causing the bone banners on the bronze altar to shake violently, rustling loudly.

Without warning, a blood rain poured down. A drop of blood rain hit the forehead of a barbarian soldier, his skin splitting instantly like parched earth, revealing beneath the blackened, wriggling veins, resembling countless little black snakes.

His body expanded rapidly at a speed visible to the naked eye, growing more robust, his ribs piercing through his skin one by one, transforming into sharp bone spurs gleaming in the sunlight. His initially ordinary leather armor, inundated by the surging demonic Qi, instantly melded into dark golden scale armor, emanating a chilling aura. His bronze battleaxe spontaneously split and reorganized into a Bone Knife entwined with blood-red lightning, the runes on its blade flickering, exuding an endless intent of slaughter.

"Kill!" The mutated barbarian warrior roared, swinging the Bone Knife.

The three cultivators forming a defensive formation had no time to react before being slashed into a bloody mist, the scene gruesome beyond words. Even more terrifying, the other barbarians stained by the blood mist also began to mutate, and the entire battlefield devolved into a furnace of flesh and blood, filled with battle cries and screams that chilled the soul.

Xu Qing's gaze was tightly glued to the mirror's image, noticing that the blood and viscera entwined around the Asura Banner's flagpole seemed to come alive, with hundreds of demonic eyes opening momentarily, their blood-red gaze brimming with a bloodthirsty light.

The black banner at the altar's center moved without wind, gradually displaying images of the Jiuli Demon God Catalogue, each Demon God grim and menacing, seemingly devouring the souls of the cultivators in mad frenzy. As the first strand of blood light swept over the cultivator ranks, they hardly had time to escape with their souls before being directly refined into blood-red runes on the banner, adding an eerie power to the Asura Banner.

"This... this is the terrifying power of an Innate Spiritual Treasure?" Xu Qing muttered to himself.

He saw clearly that in the depths of the blood river, countless vengeful spirits struggled and wailed in torment, all being cultivators devoured by the Asura Banner, now trapped in endless suffering, unable to escape.

What shocked Xu Qing even more was that each time a cultivator was slain, the blood color of the Asura Banner deepened, seemingly absorbing power and growing increasingly formidable.

Suddenly, the bronze mirror vibrated violently once more, transforming the scene into a sea of blood, waves surging fiercely as if intent on submerging the entire world. Xu Qing's ears filled with the murmurs of countless vengeful souls, each sound like a piercing dagger, painfully pricking his Heavenly Demon Consciousness.

"Enough!" Xu Qing shouted angrily, instantly unleashing Tai Shi Demon Qi within, erupting like raging black flames, sweeping toward those illusions.

Under the bombardment of Tai Shi Demon Qi, these illusions dissipated in an instant, everything returning to tranquility.

Xu Qing took a deep breath, quickly realizing that what the bronze mirror showed was the barbarian invasion of the Jiuli World against other cultivation worlds.

"Truly gruesome..." Xu Qing's face was filled with gravity.

He vaguely sensed that once the Great Yu Immortal Dynasty's cycle tribulation erupted, it too might face such a terrifying disaster. At this thought, an urgency filled Xu Qing's heart, making him aware that time was pressing, and what little time he had to prepare...

Jiuli World.

"My Lord, a representative of the Supreme Dao has arrived."
