Monarch of Profound Toxin [Progression, LitRPG]

Chapter 225: Fists of Furiously Protecting Intellectual Property

"Well then, fuckers. Shall we do this?" Eik said and stuck out his jaw, showing teeth as he got up from the comfortable couch, stomped a boot on the low tea table between them, and rolled up his sleeves.

The entire Gohkamorian delegation was stunned into silence. Then someone in the back let out a snort which opened the valve and set them all off, laughing so much that they had to put hands on each other's shoulders to keep their feet under them.

"We have heard of your impressive power, Eik Magnasen," the leader said. "You would surely best any of us, myself included. But there are twelve of us here. We're all mid or high A-rankers. I would urge you to reconsider, but I can't help but want to see your bloody face crushed into the floor."

"Ah, yes. True Gohkamorian diplomacy, isn't it?" Eik laughed. "You're like children with rocket launchers. You just can't hold yourselves back, can you? How you managed to survive this long in the Unified Mass is truly a mystery to me."

Some of the Gohkamorians grew angry. The leader just chuckled. "You enjoy spitting insults."

"Nah, I could take you. All of you. No problem."

"You're very arrogant, I'll give you that."

"Maybe, but in this case I'm just realistic. You guys are wimps to me."

That seemed to hit a nerve in them. Auras flared up again but this time Eik didn't just let them. Like an explosion his aura rushed through their bodies, the toxic properties making their skin feel as if it had caught fire. The leader fell backward over the couch he was sitting in to get away, the eleven others stumbling backward, bumping into things in their confusion.

They roared as they lost control of their own auras. The moment Eik let his aura settle a bit, the Gohkamorian leader shot forward, tears running from red eyes as if he had been cutting onions for four hours straight. He had a heavy mace on his hip but didn't draw it. That told Eik that, at the very least, they didn't intent to murder him here outright.

The giant went in for a palm strike, his body moving quickly as lightning, belying his size. He certainly earned his title of A-ranker, but it just wasn't enough to fight Eik. The others were already recovering and scrambling to join the fight.

Eik elbowed the enormous palm away, the bones in the leader's hand creaking but not breaking, and followed up with his own attack—a hook slamming into the man's side. It folded him in half at the hip and put his head in the perfect place to take a fist right in the nose. And that's what he got.

Impact knocking him backward as if he had been hit by a truck, his body felled three more large Gohkamorians like bowling pins, sending them to the floor. The wooden wall broke and the leader slid across the ground outside, groaning as he tried to sit up.

Six more Gohkamorians were upon him in the next moment. Eik evaded three initial attacks, batted two away, and ate the last one with his cheek for the hell of it. An uppercut took one of them in the chin and sent him through the ceiling where only his legs hung out of the hole in a very cartoony fashion.

Letting the momentum of the movement carry his light body into the air, he kneed another in the nose and brought his foot back down in an axe kick, cracking the bastard in the back of the head and knocking him into the floor boards, unconscious.

A variety of abilities rained down over him but he wasn't really able to identify all of them. Instinctively, shells of crystalline Profound Toxin snapped in to block everything.

A green, billowing haze oozed into his nose and he felt his Resistance: Toxin react, cleansing whatever effect it was and buffing him with Noxious Invigoration. Releasing a pre-loaded dose of Potion of Mighty Strength class 5, further boosted by Perfect Consumption, he leapt into the middle of the large bodies and went on a rampage.

The only hit he allowed the whole fight was that one to the cheek that he took on purpose. By the time all twelve of them were on the ground either groaning in pain or fully unconscious, many other Gohkamorians around the compound had gathered. Many of them held weapons.

"Well, damn," Eik sighed, looking around at the downed delegation. "And here I was thinking we were having fun… You guys okay down there? What can I get you? Blankets? A cup of warm milk?"

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

The leader looked up but couldn't actually sit up. Eyeing the many onlookers he coughed an order through his teeth. "S-Seize him. Do not let… Do not let him get away."

"Seize me?" Eik asked, genuinely surprised at the turn of events. "What on Earth do you hope to gain by doing this?"

"It is as you say," he said, groaning as his A-rank body quickly healed and he slowly got to his feet. "We're desperate. Your baseless accusations of invasions will put us in a tough spot in the Alliance."

"Mate, several groups have already taken us up on our offer to provide corpses for their own confirmation. It's a little more than baseless accusations at this point. You were just unlucky that Earth rose to prominence too quickly. How do you think getting your hands on me will solve this issue for you? If anything it's only going to make everything worse for you."

Along with seven of the other A-rankers of the delegation, the leader finally drew his weapon, yellow energy emanating from the heavy head. The energy ran up his arms as well.

"This attack was never sanctioned by Gohkamoria," the man said with a wicked grin, blood staining his teeth. "We are acting on our own. This is wholly my responsibility and I will take that responsibility to my grave." The look in the eyes of rest of the delegation showed that they were all on the same page.

Aha, a loyalist. Well, that certainly made things a lot more unpredictable. Eik had expected to make a show of force, tell them to drop it, and then basically skedaddle out of there and go home. Maybe it wouldn't be that simple after all, but then again, when the fuck was it ever?

"Whatever you do, even if you kill me, it's going to change nothing about your position. You will still have a shitty reputation and you still won't get your oversized mittens on my amazing pills."

"We don't need to buy anything from you if we can figure out how you make them," the representative snarled. "So all you need to do is tell me how you do it and we'll leave Earth alone for good."

Aah. If they could produce Eik's Legendary Mystery Medicine on their own why would they care about something as dumb as cosmic street cred? They could presumably pave the way through the Unified Mass all on their own.

This certainly wasn't the outcome Eik had expected today, but he couldn't pretend to be surprised either. It wasn't like this was the first time anyone had tried to force the recipe out of him. As a matter of fact, it happened all the time. Now that the Gohkamorians were attempting it as well, it was actually a little strange that they hadn't until now.

Maybe they had? They could have hired any of the thugs who had tried it until now. Their desperation was showing.

Eik hammered his fist into his open palm. "All right, okay. Yeah, I get it now. You should have started with this. I've been waiting for an opportunity to exterminate some Gohkamorians."

Just by the way they moved, he could tell that many of the others in the compound were also around A-rank. Even more were B-rankers. It wouldn't have been difficult to anticipate that Eik would bar them entry to Earth so they had probably set this up in advance. Fuckin' tricksters.

The members of the delegation had taken healing potions and were back in moderately good shape. At least fifty Gohkamorians surrounded him. Luckily none of them seemed to be S-rankers. The stronger you were the more your travels were scrutinized. If they had sent an S-ranker to Gimleh and an Earthling had been murdered on one of their properties, it would have been even more difficult to play dumb than it would with what they were doing now.

But Eik was an A-ranker. One, lone A-ranker. And although he was powerful, this many high-rankers would obviously be enough to take him down, right? If one were to think about it, it was really their own fault that they didn't wait until the rumors of Eik's killing of an S-ranked cultist began to spread. They might have reconsidered this foolish venture in that case.

As the enemies charged in, Eik activated his many personal buffs one at a time in rapid succession. With each boost, his perception of their movements slowed, until they felt like angry children compared to fighting Oru the Devourer and Bobopahn the Reacher.

Backflow.

Another dose of Potion of Mighty Strength class 5 along with Potion of the Sharp Mind, which helped focus. This was another potion which he had made into a permanent effect. He had taken many already, although the effect was mostly combat-oriented and didn't do much for his general tendency to become preoccupied.

Next was Monarch's Will, the crown of the king rising languidly into the air.

Armor of the Scourge settled across his entire body.

Aura flared up stronger than ever, the sheer spiritual pressure of it making it difficult to approach him.

And finally Profound Unity. He hadn't had much chance to test it yet. All he knew was that it intensified Profound Toxin to an extreme degree and therefore both Monarch's Will and Backflow in turn. It was essentially a power magnifier.

And by the way his aura crackled through the atmosphere, that was also strengthened significantly. Eik of the Blue Death, eh?

He didn't need the Living Manifestations for this.

Some of the Gohkamorians had already stopped dead in their tracks, eyes wide and frightened. Eik's might could be felt all the way into their souls. As if some primal instinct urged them to run.

But it was already too late to flee.

The weakest of them died as the toxicity of the blue aura overwhelmed their systems. The rest lived long enough to feel poison strong enough to kill an S-ranker flow through their bodies, scorching tissue and consuming them from the inside.

With a bestial grin, Eik leapt into the middle of it all, vibrant stream of deadly toxin whirling about his body.
