"Worried about this job?" Poli asked softly, pulling Oliver from his wandering thoughts. "If you're having second thoughts, we can easily call it off..."
Shaking his head, he sighed softly as he tried to refocus on what was ahead of him. "It's not that. More just... this is the first time your mom is looking after Jal..."
"I think she can handle one twelve year old girl- even one as hyperactive as Jal." Poli smirked, nudging him with her shoulder. "She raised me, after all."
"I know she can handle it..." Oliver said softly, visibly struggling to find the words to express what was on his mind. "Just... I know how excited they both are, and I don't want anything to go wrong for their first time bonding without us there."
"Does that make sense?"
"It does, Oli." Poli reassured him with a warm smile- she knew that, while he was certainly worried about the two of them and the night they were having, it was really the wait that was making it worse... Not that they had much more time to wait, anyway- there was only a half hour left before the job was to start, and they needed to decide soon if he was going to take it or not.
But first, they intended to scout things out... Which is also why they were already in position a mile from the meet up location.
"It's time to send up the drone, hon." She quickly reminded him as his eyes got that far away look he always had when he started to overthink things.
"Right." Oliver nodded, already releasing the shining silver orb that was his Tactical Personal Drone. A small smirk flashed across his face as it disappeared from sight and he focused on his cell phone screen. "Awful nice of them to add the meetup location to the Bounty, wasn't it?"
Chuckling to himself as the drone zipped along, it only took a few seconds before the place in question came into view...
"This...is kind of amusing." He snorted as he realized what the building was...
Despite the lack of iconography, it was clearly an old, abandoned church.
White paint, flaked and chipped with age, covered the wooden exterior of the mostly rectangular building. The glass windows, though mostly intact- as very few people were willing to desecrate even an abandoned church- were covered in dust, and the occasional fingerprint. Surrounding the property was a waist height brick wall, a few bricks missing in places. Though the building lacked a steeple, the fade outline where a cross once hung on the door and the broken sign lying in the grass that read 'Pleasant View Baptist Ministry' were easy enough to spot- from his drone's perspective, at least.
But what made it obvious that this was the place was the dozen FBI agents surrounding the building.
"I guess no one told them not to wear their monkey suits; These guys stick out like a sore thumb..." He snarked as his eyes scanned across the agents.
While the property itself was small, the agents clearly weren't slacking, with an agent posted at each corner and more patrolling between them in rotation. While none of them had a weapon in hand- clearly they weren't expecting problems- he had no doubt they were all armed.
And, standing right out front, were the familiar figures of Agents Doe and Smith- though Agent Doe looked less like a government agent and more like an odd mix of modern soldier and medieval assassin, wearing a tight fitting leather chest guard and bracers, a tactical belt with multiple pouches and a combat knife hung on it, and black cargo pants and combat boots that looked well worn...

"Damn, she looks kinda hot in that." Poli whistled softly while peaking over his shoulder. "I mean, she can rock a suit, but the leather definitely works for her..."
"Time and place, hon." Oliver muttered as his attention was drawn to the last figure standing with them- one he almost hadn't noticed, so perfectly still were they...
And, now that he was looking at them... They looked incredibly familiar.
"Fuck, I'm not sure whether to hope it is him or not..."
The lustrous blonde hair, pale green eyes, prominent cheekbones... the pointed Elven ears... even down to the forest green cloak he wore, the man was a dead ringer for the Elf he had met- and fought- on a pirate ship not that long ago.
"I'm pretty sure that is Alton Oakheart..." He quietly told Poli, focusing the drone- which hovered a safe distance away in stealth- on the Elf in question.
"That Elf you fought back on Lily's world? Seriously?" She hissed, staring at the slender figure on the phone screen. "Didn't you say he was a total badass?"
"Can I see?" Lily asked softly, leaning in close to them- Oliver wasn't entirely comfortable bringing the gentle princess along on this, but Poli needed someone to watch her back... And Lily was very insistent that she help, especially since she wanted to go along with them on jobs in the future...
If it wasn't for the fact that the two of them would be staying well away from the agents- and hopefully any trouble- he wouldn't have even considered it.
"He looks quite similar to a human... except for the ears, of course." Lily muttered softly before returning to watching their surroundings- she was at least taking her role seriously, he could admit.
"Yeah, he was kind of a badass- and yes, Elves look pretty similar to us." Oliver answered them both almost absently, his mind already running through what this development meant for the Bounty- Oakheart's presence meant success was more likely, and that it would probably be safer overall... But it also meant another dangerous fighter for if things went sideways.
Of course, Oakheart also seemed more focused on completing the job than anything else when they spoke, so it was likely he wouldn't get involved in anything else... Oliver hoped.
"Just put the babies to bed..." A soft voice crackled from his radio earpiece- the code they had set up with Ed and Gary: since they couldn't be sure the FBI weren't monitoring all frequencies, they had decided on an innocuous sounding phrase as the signal that things were in place for if distraction and extraction were needed...
"Time to make the call, Oli: Are we doing this?" Poli asked softly, making it clear the decision was his to make.
"I still don't like the risks those two or taking." He muttered softly, still mulling over what to do. "Or that you two will take; I really don't want any of you getting close enough that-"
The words froze in his throat as another late entry to this little dimensional expedition showed up unexpectedly...
Strolling casually down the road, as if she didn't have a care in the world, while wearing a lavender miniskirt, thigh-high platform boots, and an oversize black sweater with the image of a burning dumpster and a caption that read 'Your Life' on it... was Oliver's own pint size vampire stalker, Evelyn Hart.
"Is she fucking crazy!?" Poli growled. "She's a wanted fucking terrorist!"
"She is crazy." Oliver sighed. "But she isn't stupid. There has to be some reason she would willingly walk into an FBI operation like this; Maybe she's trying to get on their good side?"
"Or hoping to cut a deal with them to get them off her tail." Poli grumbled without taking her eyes off the screen. After several long seconds, she sighed and shook her head. "I may like her, but we're not responsible if she gets herself into trouble- and we're not going to kill ourselves just to save her from herself..."
"It's still your call, Oli."
Wanting at least a few more seconds to consider the situation, Oliver waited until he recalled his drone to answer.
"I guess we're doing this... Though she is going to owe us big."
