My Favorite Game Followed Me!

Chapter 594

Anton's squad was one of the units in the Special Forces army that did not appear to be victims of a hurricane onslaught. All the other people who surrounded them looked extremely haggard and tired.

It was expected, as it would take some time for everyone to adjust to the pace they were traveling at. Squad 13 had a huge advantage because of Anton's Pearl of the Ocean magic item; a few hours of sleep would feel like each of their squad members had slept for several hours.

During breakfast, Captain Leonard informed the squad members of the results of the captains' meetings. Starting from that day, every 100 squad would have a group would have its own cook and helpers for every lunch, dinner, and breakfast. The cook helpers would be from members of some of the squads, and that day, Captain Leonard chose Anton to help the cook. The next day would be someone else, and so on. There was also going to be a special location where people could relieve themselves. The toilet would be constructed by mages, so it would be sanitary and would not harm the environment. After that, the journey to the kingdom of Mendoza started that day.

Because of what happened the day before, Anton chose to walk instead of using his skills to fly. He did not want his squad member to develop some sort of friction because of his traveling mode. He could lift everyone, but if the other squad noticed, Anton was sure that it would cause a commotion.

Suvina, Fran, and Mauri were severely disappointed and could not help but glare at every male member of the team. After a while, they had accepted that the journey would be that way and finally stopped blaming the men and enjoyed the walk. The day was nice, the weather was warm, and they were traveling slowly enough that the hike wasn't too hard. They were all young and healthy, and a walk was not too hard to do.

Even Anton started enjoying the weather and the scenery. It was summer, and the breeze was enough to cool them off from the sun. The trees were green, and the mountains in the distance looked beautiful. There was no danger on the road since there was probably no monster that was stupid enough to attack an army. An army by itself was one huge monster.

At around noon, the army stopped, and Anton joined the cook who would cook for their teams. Anton was impressed by their cook's professionalism, who expertly commanded everyone. Anton was tasked to chop some vegetables, and using Telekinesis, he did fast enough that the cook praised him. Once the food was ready, everyone lined up to get some, and it was extremely orderly since every squad captain made sure that there would be no chaos.

Anton was sure that each of the squad captains had the same idea as Captain Leonard. To do a good enough job so they could climb in Ormunda's hierarchy.

The toilet constructed by mages was huge and was sorted into cubicles, so there was enough privacy. After it was used, a mage would then clean the toilet using a cleaning spell.

After lunch, the journey continued. Once Anton was used to walking without thinking too much, he checked if he could continue to do so while using his system. He didn't want to waste the journey doing nothing, so he tried to level up his current ladder character, which was now a level 85 Druid. He warned his team members that he needed to meditate for his magic, and everyone was good enough to him to help mind him while he was walking absently.

Since he was walking while leveling up, Anton had no choice but to choose a location safe enough that he could absently kill monsters while still minding the surroundings in the real world. Because of that, the leveling process was not fast, but at least there was progress, even if a little. The hours spent traveling until they stopped for dinner caused his Druid to level up to level 90.

During dinner, Anton joined the cooking and started chopping vegetables again, but this time, the cook assigned him the task alone since he was fast enough to do so alone using his Telekinesis.

"Captain Leonard, can I talk to you privately?" Anton told their squad captain while they were eating, so after they were done, Captain Leonard cast some sort of privacy screen magic that allowed the two to talk privately.

Anton did not have a spell like that and thought that it was a mistake for him not to check out the shops of Ormunda that would provide him with that type of spell. The only spell that he had retained from the time he studied regular magic was the cleaning spells. He already dispelled all the other spells that he had memorized that came from regular magic, since Anton did not want them cluttering his mind, and he thought that his Diablo II spells had enough spells that he could use for daily life.

"What do you want to talk about?" Captain Leonard asked.

"My magic is special, and I would need to meditate for several hours a day or else my magic would degrade. Normally, I could do so even while traveling, but that was on top of an animal like a horse. Can I summon an animal that I can ride upon so I can meditate? Otherwise, by the time we arrived at our location, my magic would be severely degraded."

"I will need to ask permission from the major, but I'm guessing it would be allowed. Let me ask right now," Captain Leonard said immediately.

Anton was surprised. He was prepared to haggle with the captain like sharing his powerful ability to heal. That was the reason why he said that he wanted some privacy, but before he could do so, Captain Leonard already dispelled the privacy screen spell and left to ask permission from the major who oversaw their squads.

After around 30 minutes, Captain Leonard returned.

"The major agreed since they know how powerful you are. In return, they are not going to allow you to use your tiny home again. They said that your tiny home could cause some sort of envy in others, and once you ride an animal, it might foster some questions."

"What if my riding my summoned animal resulted in discontent and questions were asked?"

"According to the major, they would simply say that you're an archmage capable of completing the 65th floor of one of the highest-level dungeons in Ormunda and needed to meditate on top of a riding animal to make sure that your magical capability would not degrade. If they had the same power as you, they would be allowed to ride animals as well," Captain Leonard said with a smile.

"What kind of animal are you summoning?" Captain Leonard asked.

"It's a Dire Bear. It's a little huge and specialized for battle. It had powerful skills it could utilize against enemies, and since it's a summoned entity, it didn't need to eat or defecate. Can I construct a tiny tent on top of it during the day? It would allow me to maximize my meditation. In return, I will assign the animal to you, Captain, and you can command it against enemies. It's very powerful and could literally fight against an army. The good thing about my Dire Bear is that if it dies, I can simply summon it again."
