Mage Legend

Chapter 574: Travel and Travel Beyond Chapter Sixty-Two Struggle_2

The mage had no choice but to accept the reality that had unfolded; now he must struggle and strive for his own survival. Lynch reached out a finger, beckoning to the Horror Demon boss, then placed a Blood Heart Sapphire on the table.

"What can I do for you, sir?" The Horror Demon's massive body seemed to have shrunk significantly. With dexterous fingers, he slipped the gemstone into his pocket and asked in a sycophantic voice, "What orders do you have?"

Lynch caught the scent from the Horror Demon, a bizarre mix of devil's stench and cheap, overpowering perfume. Wrinkling his nose in distaste, he shifted his body away from the demon. The mage tossed the heart and eye of the Flame Demon onto the table, giving only a single command: "Sell them well for me!"

The Horror Demon gingerly picked up the two items, backed away from the mage's table, bending as he went. He was now even more convinced that the young man before him possessed profound strength—able to take down a creature like the Flame Demon, who was four ranks higher than himself. The slave market owner hurried the items to the auction platform as quickly as possible, not daring to delay in the slightest.

The Desire Demon smiled at the mage's decisive actions, pleased with his swift decisions. Thus, she bit the tip of her tail, focusing her gaze intently on the mage. Lynch could feel the Desire Demon's attention on him, like a beauty lightly scratching his back with her hair. "She's fully exerting her charm ability," thought the mage. "Why didn't I prepare a spell to resist such allure?"

The devils present could no longer contain their excitement upon seeing the Flame Demon's heart displayed on the platform. Typically, when devils die, they revert to their first form, with their original bodies disappearing instantly. To obtain a devil's heart, or summon them to another realm, one must first strip them of their ability to downgrade; or use an exceptionally quick method to kill them instantly, leaving no time for transformation.

The Flame Demon's heart is an extremely powerful magic item, especially for devils, as its hell-infused innards can rapidly enhance their abilities. The devils, eager for advancement, began bidding competitively. This was far more valuable than any ore or weapon!

Even the two Horror Demons holding Eryies joined the bidding frenzy, though their offers were clearly not very competitive. All eyes were on the mage Lynch, having noted that he was the one who had just presented the Flame Demon heart. The devils listed various types of goods—scrolls, magic wands, casting materials, and mage robes—while simultaneously watching Lynch's reactions, hoping to discern what he most desired. But Lynch remained stern, waiting for the offer he wanted to hear.

"I will also wager this Desire Demon!" The Horror Demon's voice rang out behind Lynch. "She became our contract slave after fleeing on the battlefield, and now I wager her ownership as well."

Lynch's lips curled into a smile, and he gave a slight nod of acknowledgment toward the Horror Demon boss. A group of devils suddenly shouted, "I have three Enchanting Demons, they are my captives!" Another said, "A Beast Woman from the Wild Expanse! I can provide her."

Lynch used his spiritual power to lift the Desire Demon's body, surprised at how light such a creature was. The two Horror Demons happily ran up to the stage, delivered the remaining bid, and obtained the Flame Demon's heart.

"Dear one, or is it better to call you master?" the Desire Demon said softly. "It seems a single contract isn't enough to signify the intimacy between us, so more are needed to bind us? I love such circumstances, loving the idea of being tightly entwined with you…"

Lynch used his magic wand to bat aside the Desire Demon's coiling tail and told her, "You'd better behave and not cause trouble! I won't bail you out every time!"

"Yes, master," the Desire Demon replied with a smile, showing no fear. "Seeing you give orders like that is quite something."

Lynch frowned and kept silent, realizing that engaging in conversation could easily lead him into Eryies' trap at any moment. The Desire Demon was perpetually trying to control his will—that was both her nature and her weapon.

The two Horror Demons began fighting each other over the ownership of that heart, and meanwhile, the auction for the Flame Demon Eye swiftly concluded. The mage obtained a Plane Traversing Robe, a red mage robe capable of preventing most environmental harm, allowing him to move freely in Bator Hell. Seizing the opportunity as the devils squabbled over the heart from the two Horror Demons' corpses, Lynch took the chance to leave with the Desire Demon to the outside.
