Ronan watched the items being used without much interest. The sounds and lightshow didn't interest him after seeing them so many times and he just wanted to receive his rewards.

You have received the skill [Idle Cultivation (Common)]!
Idle Cultivation (Common): The user is able to passively cultivate while performing other actions, provided they have a charged shard in their possession. Idle cultivation is 10% the speed of regular cultivation and operates at 80% energy absorption efficiency.
His class had gone for the double, giving him an item and a skill related to cultivation. When it came to skills Ronan also knew the system had a tendency to give people skills that were suited to their existing talents, so he wasn't that surprised.
The skill wasn't that beneficial for him, given that he had theoretically infinite time anyway and wasting shard energy didn't appeal to him. If he found himself in a situation where he couldn't take a break to cultivate he wouldn't end up wasting shards.
The elixir was a useful find, too. It reminded him of the warrior's fortitude elixir he'd earned in one of his earliest iterations. That was how he'd first begun his cultivation journey.
Of course the best item he'd received was a nostalgic one. He raised the crown of flowers in one hand, sighing as he stared at the delicately woven stems. The stats it offered didn't mean much to him anymore, but he put it on his head regardless. Style was just as important as strength.
There was still another reward to use. The cornucopia of convalescence. It was an item he'd never seen before, but the moment he pulled up the description and read it he was elated. It was practically tailor-made for him.
Cornucopia of Convalescence (Common): Reach into the cornucopia and claim the fruits of the gods.
Ronan wasted no time in activating it, looking forward to seeing which stat fruit he would gain. One of those he had yet to discover, or one he'd already found but hadn't maxed out his enhancement for yet?

He was rather surprised to receive two kinds of fruit, but satisfied nonetheless. Bananas and dates worked exceptionally well as a flavour combination. Ronan was disappointed to only have one date, but he savoured small bites of it in between mouthfuls of the lucky bananas.
His sweet treat consumed, and his stats improved once more, Ronan pulled up his status to see which of his stats he was still missing fruit bonuses for. Only endurance, regeneration, and strength fruits still eluded his grasp.

As he was about to close his status and check on the others, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. At least four of his masteries had gone up in tier.
Returning to the kill notifications that he'd barely glanced at, having been so excited about reaching level 100, Ronan realised he needed to take things slowly and not simply rush for the flashy gains. All improvements were important and worthy of his notice, even the little ones.
Then there were the weapon masteries, and pain, which had increased during the wave trials but he'd never actually gone through the new effects. Mostly it was just small increases in the existing bonuses, but there was the occasional new advantage he'd picked up along the way. He read through them all, regardless of whether he'd earned them during the tenth wave or much earlier. There were even a few new additions.

It was a lot to take in. He knew he wouldn't remember most of the changes or new abilities he'd just gained for a while. However, he didn't need to remember them for them to be useful. Most of the mastery effects were passive, simply improving things he already did in a fight.
Those kinds of small passive gains would make him unbeatable in a fight.
Once he'd truly used all his rewards and taken stock of his gains from the trial itself, Ronan was ready to return to the tower. Though he would first need to make sure his allies were also ready.
When he stood up to check on Ryan and Florence, he found them chatting around the stone table in the centre of the room. "You two already finished? That was quick."
"It was just using a few items. Most of the delay comes from the excitement. I'm not sure what took you so long, Ronan? Got something to share with us?" There was a teasing smirk on Florence's face as she replied.
"You wish. Get to level 100 yourself and you'll find out." She rolled her eyes. Ryan was less enthused.
Ronan understood the man's grim expression. They had just fought through a harrowing life-and-death battle in which they'd watched 6 of their allies die. That was tough to handle.
"Let's head back then. I don't want to leave the pillar unguarded for too long around those former friends of yours." The insult was in jest, but Ronan was a little worried about leaving the pillar exposed for a long period of time.
Rockmore's goons were far from the biggest threat in the sector. He wanted to be ready if any other would-be claimants arrived before the first phase of the integration ended.
Stepping through the portal, he shivered as the goopy substance passed over him. It didn't stick, but it was still odd. As he stepped into the room, the stench of sewage and rot struck his sinuses like a shit-stained hammer.
The source of the stench was standing just a few metres in front of Ronan, glowing yellow eyes glaring at him through strips of grey flesh.
