Hollow

Trouble in Yokohama

[4:00 A.M.]

Two men were talking in an office. The office was a study in luxury. It was painted completely in white, with a soft red carpet covering the floor. Soft white lights were embedded in the ceiling, casting a warm glow across the room. In the middle of the room sat a large table made of oak. A blue chair was pulled up behind it, facing a massive ceiling-to-floor window. Multiple holographic screens hovered just above the table, illuminating the area. Whoever owned this place clearly wanted everyone to know they had money, lots of it. And the extravagance of the room made it very clear that they spared no expenses.

Sitting in the chair was a very corpulent individual, sporting a massive double chin and a stomach that appeared ready to burst at the seams. He was dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit. Standing on the other side of the table was a much leaner man, dressed in a blue suit. Both men were clearly Japanese.

The portly man, named Akutagawa Masami, leaned forward in his chair, his hands steepled under his double chin. The holographic screens above the table flashed with different news headlines and market data, but he ignored all of them and spoke in a dismissive tone. "There have been some unwanted individuals causing damage to our facilities in Yokohama".

The leaner man, responded in a more neutral tone. "Yes sir, we've been aware of these incidents for some time now. We've tried everything from regular security patrols to increasing the number of cameras in the area, but so far it hasn't deterred these trespassers."

He was Hiroshi ishikawa — the son of a wealthy man who got lucky and got a job within the Kusonoki conglomerate as a assistant manager.

Masami grumbled something beneath his breath and leaned back in his chair

"Obviously those measures weren't enough, and now they've completely destroyed a warehouse full of experimental equipment. That's not something that can be taken lightly!"

Ishikawa felt a chill run down his spine at the chief-executive's words. He knew that Masami's temper was like a powder keg, and it didn't take much to set him off.

"We've already increased the number of security personnel in the area, as well as implemented additional security measures at all of the Kusonoki properties in the city. We're also increasing the daily monitoring of the surveillance cameras—"

Masami interrupted him with an angry gesture. "That's not enough! I want those trespassers killed, now. Pronto! No excuses! Execute them. Those are not my words, they're from the higher ups."

Ishikawa knew there was no point in arguing with Masami when he was like this. He had seen Masami lose his temper countless times before, and it was always a frightening thing to witness.

Without hesitation, he nodded his head "Understood, sir. We'll eliminate the trespassers by whatever means necessary. I'll prepare a task force immediately."

"Good. I don't want more armed men strutting around and causing more headaches. I've had enough of this already" he gestured dismissively. "Get rid of them permanently and just give the media some money to spread some fake-stories about their disappearance."

"Right away, sir," Ishikawa said.

"Oh, and Ishikawa." Masami added, suddenly

"Yes, sir?" Ishikawa replied, his tone betraying nothing but professionalism.

"Before you leave, can you get me some pizza from downstairs? Tell them to make or extra cheese with pepperoni and mushrooms."

Hiroshi's eyes widened slightly, but he didn't show his shock. Masami's request, no, order was completely out of left field, and he had to resist the urge to roll his eyes.

Nevertheless, he swallowed his frustrations and responded.

"Of course, sir. The extra cheese, pepperoni, and mushroom pizza, right? I'll get it right away."

Masami leaned back in his oversized chair, satisfied with Hiroshi obedience.

"You're a good worker, hiroshi," he said. "You're always so quick to do what I say. I appreciate that about you."

Ishikawa nodded silently. Inside his head, he thought, 'I just don't have a choice,' but he instead said, "Thank you, sir," respectfully, before turning and leaving the office.

Hiroshi closed the door softly behind him and let out a silent sigh. He knew that Masami considered him his personal assistant and errand boy, and it was always up to him to fulfill the man's ridiculous demands.

"Fuck that bastard."

He muttered under his breath as he walked over and punched the button for the elevator.

"Why the fuck do i even bothering with this, I'm already rich, i don't need a job."

Hiroshi's father was a important higher up of the Kusonoki conglomerate and because of that — Hiroshi had gotten this job in this branch while his two brothers had been send to the other branches in the other islands of japan.

The elevator dinged as the door slid open. Ishikawa stepped inside the elevator and pressed the button for the lobby.

The trip down to the lobby was short and quiet. As the elevator descended, Hiroshi ran his hands through his black medium length hair in frustration, mumbling to no one in particular.

"Extra cheese with pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Really? That Fatass is gonna give himself a heart attack eating all that grease" A small, bitter smile tugged at the corners of his lips. At least this errand gave him an excuse to get out of Masami's presence.

This job which came from the higher ups was a "clean up" mission.

This mission involved eliminating the trespassers who had infiltrated the Kusonoki properties and causing disruptions in the city. Hiroshi had seen some of the surveillance footage, and he couldn't help but feel the slightest bit of pity for these trespassers.

It all started with a break-in three months ago in a factory where they made neutri-gel for the common folk, and ever since then, more and more reports of unauthorized personnel entering their facilities in that city — someone even stormed their HQ in that city. The security team did their best to deter them, but somehow they found a way in, again and again, and the last attack proved to be the worst one.

Rebels.

That's what these people were.

Rebelling against THE KC.

And so, their fate was death.

The elevator finally reached the ground floor, and the doors slid open with a ding. Ishikawa stepped out into the empty lobby. Right now, it was 04:00 O'clock.

The Kusonoki conglomerate had a policy where if you did overtime you would get added money and there was no limit to how much you could work, of course since most people working in the conglomerate were already well off, nobody except for a few people made use of it, one of those being him but he wasn't doing this for the money but because he had missed the last three days of work so as to not get chwen out by his dad, he had to do overtime.

The lobby apart from being empty was also magnificent.

The floors were made entirely out of white marble, while the ceiling was adorned with a beautiful crystal chandelier.

Multiple statues were displayed on either side along with the occasional painting. A few comfortable looking leather couches were arranged in a small circle next to a large glass window. Engraved in the walls on each sides were two massive logo's of the Kusonoki conglomerate in red.

A lone receptionist sat in front a grand desk at the far corner of the room. She was 5'7 with long black hair and bangs which covered her forehead, wearing the usual receptionist cloths — which were extremely expensive and branded as the receptionist was the first thing someone saw when walking in the building – she had to be beautiful. When Hiroshi walked towards their desk, the receptionist looked up and greeted him with a professional smile.

"Oh, Hiroshi-san. Ho- i mean hello sir, what can I do for you?"

Hiroshi returned the receptionist's professional smile with his own polite one.

"Good evening, or should I say good morning?"

The receptionist chuckled lightly, her voice soft and pleasant. "Well, I suppose 'good morning' would be more appropriate at this time. Is there anything you need, sir?"

Hiroshi pushed his hands into his pockets, feigning ease as he replied. "Well, I just came down to grab a pizza. Masami-san is craving extra cheese with pepperoni and mushrooms at this ungodly hour."

The receptionist raised an eyebrow slightly, but her tone remained polite and professional. "A pizza, huh? I see. Would you like a small, medium, or large size, sir?"

"A large, please. With extra cheese, pepperoni, and mushroom." Hiroshi responded.

Hiroshi could see the slight frown the receptionist made upon hearing his order.

The receptionist quickly regained her composure and nodded. "Of course, sir. A large extra cheese, pepperoni, and mushroom pizza, coming right up. Would you like any drinks with that?"

Hiroshi shook his head. "No, no drinks this time. Just the pizza will do, thanks. Well. If you could get me some wine, that would be great."

The receptionist chuckled with amusement, not expecting the request. "Wine? At 4am in the morning?"

Nevertheless, she didn't object.

"Alright, I'll throw in a bottle of wine with your order."

Hiroshi smiled at her, a small and genuine smile this time.

"Thank you. You're too kind."

The receptionist was always more pleasant to be around than the higher ups, and she always tried her best to accommodate all requests with a smile, regardless of how absurd.

Since some people often stayed for whole entire nights in the office – there was a fully automatic kitchen just in case if anyone was hungry. This was something special to the Kusonoki conglomerate, all the other companies were too poor to put something like that in them and the reason they were too poor was also because of the Kusonoki continue.

"Anytime, sir. Your order should be here in fifteen minutes. Enjoy." The receptionist turned her attention to the computer again and started to type, seemingly entering Hiroshi's order.

Hiroshi waited there silently for a moment, watching the receptionist work. He almost felt guilty for making her do extra work, it was 4am after all but he shook his head, it was her job.

He gave her a nod and walked over to the other end of the lounge, sitting on a couch.

While sitting, he opened a neural interface in his brain by saying "power on.". The digital interface was only visible to him, and thanks to the neuro-chip implanted in his brain, he was able to connect to the internet instantaneously.

A neurochip was roughly the size of a coin and was surgically inserted just above the nape of a person's neck. The device was connected directly to their nervous system and their brain, allowing him to control devices and connect to networks wirelessly. All it took was a single thought, and you were suddenly connected to the internet.

Neuro-chips were expensive and only the rich could afford them, but they made life much easier.

The chip itself had a smooth surface, and the small piece of hardware came in a variety of colors. It was very discrete and no one else could tell if a person had one implanted unless they scanned the back of their neck.

A pair of smart contact lenses, projected the digital interface right in front of his eyes. Through these lenses, he could access information from the internet without the need for physical devices like phones or tablets. The technology was compact, convenient, and had practically made traditional phones obsolete. These lenses also allowed him to see various information such as files, emails, memos and much more.

Hiroshi quickly skimmed through the morning news, his eyes scanning the headlines and articles.

After he finished, he quickly opened an email application and started going through his mailbox. There were a lot of unread emails – most of them being work related, while other emails were just spam and ads.

Among several e-mails were some reports on the damage caused to Kusonoki's equipment in Yokohama. The damage had been significant. With a frustrated sigh, Hiroshi read through the reports. The damage to the equipment's was quite significant, and would require a good amount of time to repair and replace. On top of that, they would have to pay the media to cover up the news and make sure it didn't go public and then arrange some people to make fake-news about the disappearance of these people he was gonna order the killing of.

As Hiroshi considered the logistics, he remembered that the underground supersonic rail was under construction, so they would have to use the road to reach Yokohama. The road passed through the ruins of the old-tokyo "Damn, they'll have to go through the ruins..not only will it be more vulnerable that way but it will also take much longer," he muttered to himself.

The supersonic train line was a massive project funded by all three megacorporation's for a very fast means of transportation throughout Japan. Most parts of it were already operational, except for the section leading to Yokohama, which was under construction. The line was composed of sleek passenger capsules or cargo capsules, which were housed within an underground vacuum tube on a cushion of air. These capsules would travel at top speeds of over 1236 km/h, powered by nuclear fusion batteries. When complete, the line would allow quick and efficient travel across the entirety of Japan, making it an incredibly reliable mode of transport.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

It was a marvel of technology, but the current issue was that until the construction was completed, people had to use the old roads to reach Yokohama. These roads went through the ruins of old-tokyo, which was still very much unsafe to travel through, it wasn't because of the remaining radiation there was another reason. Slums. Old Tokyo was home to a massive slum, which now resembled a third tier city. Although the radiation levels had long since returned to normal, the main problem was the presence of gangs and violence in the area.

However, the mega-corps were fully prepared to deal with any potential issues. High ranking officials had been kidnapped in the past, prompting the hiring of a private military group. The group had made quick work of the gangs there, eliminating almost half of them. Since then nothing of sorts had happened. The gang leaders had realized the futility of getting into skirmishes with the companies, and a sort of truce had been established. It was still a seedy, crime-ridden area but not as dangerous as it had been before. At least, not for important company representatives

He quickly skimmed over the rest of them, deleting all the unimportant emails until he came across a specific email, simply labelled "Important".

His curiosity piqued, he clicked on the email, opening the contents. As he read, a thoughtful frown formed on his face.

This email was indeed important. It contained all the personal information of the people causing havoc in Yokohama.

"So this is them huh..."

Hiroshi muttered to himself as he scrolled through the email, It included photos, names, addresses, family information, past careers, etc. All the information the Kusonoki conglomerate could find on these people.

He scrolled through them all, taking mental notes as he did, but something else caught his attention.

Each of the individuals shared a common background – they were from different parts of Japan but they all shared the same experience – being poor.

They had no wealth, no status, no power, no recognition. They were all people who had been ignored and taken advantage of, who had experienced hardship and hardships.

Hiroshi couldn't help but feel a pang of apathy.

These individuals were causing property damage, disrupting the city's peace and security, and all for what? Because they felt dissatisfied with the current system?

It was ridiculous, and stupid. The Kusonoki conglomerate had done nothing wrong, if these men had just worked harder, then maybe they would be living better lives instead of causing trouble.

Hiroshi closed out of the email, and leaned back against the cushy leather couch, letting out a sigh.

He wasn't too interested in the reasons behind these men's motivations, as far as he was concerned, they were simply criminals. The only question was what should be done about them. He needed to get rid of them but who should do the dirty job?

It would be a waste to send the Kusonoki security team — the roses to handle this, they could be used for dealing with other more important matters – they weren't expendable.

There were the black roses but they only dealt with the vice president and president, there was the sunflower group — the Kusonoki conglomerate private army but they couldn't be used for something like this.

That left only one choice.

Mercenaries.

Of course.

Mercenary's, those lowly, scum of the earth were the best option. They would do anything, no questions asked and for the right price.

Hiroshi thought about the different mercenary groups that he was aware of. There were quite a few but there was one that he was personally familiar with.

The Golden Circle.

A group of merciless killers, each member being a veteran of the many wars that had happened over the years.

The Golden Circle would do the job no problem, it would just cost him a pretty penny but Hiroshi didn't care, money wasn't an issue, plus he knew their leader personally.

Hiroshi had hired the Golden Circle many times before, and each time he had been successful.

He had a good reputation with the group, and knew that they would get the job done and keep their mouths shut.

Pulling out his neural interface again, he typed a message to their leader.

"Need a job done, will pay as usual."

He wrote.

Hiroshi leaned back and waited for a response, the sound of a quiet ding signalling the reply.

The response came almost immediately, and Hiroshi opened the message.

"What's the job? When? How much?"

A simple message, straight to the point.

Hiroshi smirked, not even a hello or a greeting, just straight to the point. It was typical from the Golden Circle.

He quickly replied.

"Clean-up job, multiple targets, in different parts of Yokohama. Ten Million yen, double if you work fast."

He added a little bonus just in case.

Hiroshi sent the message and waited again. This time, the response took a few minutes longer, which was unexpected. Normally, the Golden Circle were extremely quick with their responses.

Hiroshi began to feel slightly anxious, had he not offered enough money? Ten million was a lot of money.

But then, a single message appeared on the screen.

"Deal."

Hiroshi let out a breath that he didn't even realize he was holding.

Hiroshi smiled. That was a relief, for a moment he thought that he might have messed up, or that they had found a better job.

But now he was confident that his problem was going to be solved.

Just then, the receptionist rang a bell — his pizza and wine were ready.

"Perfect timing," He mumbled, standing up from the couch. Time flew by surprisingly fast. Pushing aside the thought, he walked over to the reception desk where the receptionist was holding out two items for him. A box, which he knew was the pizza and a bottle of red wine.

"Thank you" Hiroshi nodded politely, picking up the items and walking back to the elevator.

He quickly pressed the button for the top floor and waited as the elevator slowly began to move. Hiroshi leaned against the wall, balancing the pizza and wine in his arms.

The elevator ride went by quickly and before he knew it, the doors opened with a 'ding'. Hiroshi stepped out into the corridor leading to Masami's office. He walked down the hallway until he reached the large door at the end. It was engraved with the word "manager".

Taking a moment to adjust his clothes, Hiroshi raised his hand and knocked on the door twice. "I brought the pizza," He said, his voice a little loud so that Masami could hear him through the door.

There was a moment of silence, and then Masami's voice echoed from inside the office. "Come in."

Hiroshi took a deep breath, before going in, be quietly put the wine on the side of the door and entered the room with just the pizza in hand. He immediately found himself staring at that fat-old man, who was eating some ice-cream. "Ah, I've been waiting," the old man said, eyeing the pizza hungrily. "Is that my pepperoni pizza?"

"Yes, sir. Here you go," Hiroshi said as he walked over and placed the box on the table before him. He then opened it, revealing the steaming pepperoni pizza.

As the old man inhaled the smell of the pizza, he asked, "Have you ordered the clean-up?" His voice was casual, as if asking about the weather.

Hiroshi nodded slightly. "Yeah, I've talked to Kazu. He'll be here within the hour and we'll reach Yokohama just before dawn."

"Good," the old man said, grabbing a slice of the pizza and shoving it into his mouth. "I don't want any of these problems messing up our business in Yokohama."

"It won't, sir," Hiroshi assured him, "Kazu will take care of them, I assure you." He paused briefly, watching the man devour the slice of pizza with gusto. Watching the man eating, he thought it best to add one more thing. "By the way, sir, I think I'll be joining them as well. Just to oversee things."

The old man paused for a moment, regarding Hiroshi with a look of slight surprise. But then, he chuckled and shook his head. "Sure, go ahead."

"Thanks, sir," Hiroshi said, slightly taken aback by the man's easy approval. He figured that having the direct subordinate of one of the higher-ups there would ensure everything went smoothly, especially since he was a trusted associate.

[5:00 a.m.]

The Ruins of Tokyo.

Hayate Sato's house, his bedroom.

Hayate's sleeping face was peaceful. He was having a comfortable dream, the same one that he always did — that should have been the scene had he still been a human.

Right now, because of the glove of the all seeing eye, he couldn't sleep nor did he need to sleep as a higher demon. So, for the past 4 hours he had just been laying in his bed, doing nothing but thinking.

"What do I do?"

He thought to himself, he had been asking himself that question for a while and yet he couldn't find an answer. There were so many things to do and yet when it comes to the important stuff he just can't figure it out.

"Should I try to find the graves of mom and dad. Or should I try to see if any of my friends are still alive, or should I test out some more magic."

Hayate was completely clueless as to what he should do next, he was currently at a crossroad where he wasn't quite sure which way to go, both paths seemed promising but which would lead him to the destination he truly sought — happiness.

He just wanted to go to his normal life back but he knew deep down both roads would lead to sadness – he would find out his parents were dead and most likely all his friends too were dead from old age.

The thought of that happening was one of the reasons he didn't know which path to take — both of them held the possibility of sadness but he was going to have to take one. He could spend days just thinking about it and in the end, he would probably just pick what he truly felt like and not have made any progress at all.

His only hope was that he would get an idea of something to do soon.

Hayate let out a quiet sigh, his mind had been going in circles and he was beginning to get a headache from all the overthinking. Sitting up in his bed, He let out another sigh. He decided to get out of bed and do something, he wouldn't find answers by just staying in bed and doing nothing.

With a slight groan, Hayate pushed himself up off the bed and got up, stretching as he did so. He felt a bit stiff after lying on the bed for so long.

He walked over to the window and pulled back the curtains, it was still completely dark outside, heck it was even snowing, not just a small amount but a lot.

"Its morning already..." Hayate muttered, watching the snowfall through the window for a while before finally turning away from the window, he couldn't tell the time but as far as he knew. He had been laying in bed for nearly four to five hours now so it should be somewhere between four or five in the morning.

He yawned and rubbed his face (something which he didn't need to do but it was a habit from when he was a human), feeling slightly annoyed by this fact that he didn't accomplish anything for all that time he lay in bed — no, he did accomplish some things.

The difference in between how combat and his abilities worked in Hollow and in real life.

The main thing was that Hayate in Hollow, when he died he could always come back to life. But, right now? He had no idea if he could come back to life if he died, if that one thing was confirmed and he could come back to life – He was completely confident in his ability to fight and win against anyone.

But that wasn't the care right now, in real life, he had to be careful, any mistake he made could result in his death — he couldn't afford to act recklessly anymore.

"I'll need to test out resurrection magic sometime soon."

There, there was the matter with eight-tier spells —

The strongest spells in Hollow.

They were spells that surpassed the seventh tier and were capable of causing a lot of damage and could change an entire battle. He knew twenty four of these said spells.

That was the maximum a level 100 magic caster could learn.

The question was, would it work here in real life? Since the lower tier magic worked just fine and his skills worked fine too. They should work too, no?

It was a question Hayate had been thinking about for a while but there was a simple reason why he hadn't tried it. The simple reason being that it was too dangerous.

First — some things from Hollow had become quite literal in real life, for example his robes. In its item discription it said that "it could not be cut, torn or even stained by any substance."

There was no mechanism in hollow where your cloths could be cut but he had tried that in real life and his robes couldn't be torn nor cut no matter how hard he tried.

Which meant that there was also a chance that some of the effects on those spells could be literal in real life, that thought alone was the reason he hadn't tested some of his spells yet. For example ; there was a spell which would and he quote "stop the rotation of all the solar system bodies."

Of course, when casted no such thing would happen but what if he casted it in real life and it did happen.

Hayate's mouth twisted into an unhappy frown, thinking of this possibility. Of course, he knew that it most likely wouldn't happen but — he didn't have any proof that it wouldn't happen. And that was a problem, even if the chances of him accidentally doing something like that were very low. He could accidentally cause some severe problems if he wasn't careful.

There was also the fact that eighth tier spells worked like alarms – if he used one – all the player's (if any) near him would come rushing at him. So, he'll basically be leaking his own location.

Which was one more reason why he didn't want to test them out, unless he absolutely had to. The moment any of the other players knew where he was located, there were countless things that can go wrong from then on.

Sighing, Hayate left the thought of 'eighth-tier spells' behind and looked around, trying to figure out what he should do next. "Maybe i should go back to Neo-Tokyo?"

"No", he immediately dismissed the thought. As nice it would be. He would still be in the same situation where he didn't know what to do. So he needed to do something else but it had to be something that wouldn't reveal his position to the other people.

There were many things which could go wrong — this world's weapons could harm him, as far as he knew maybe other people were here too and for them a level 100 was level 1 and their level could be level 1000.

Just then, he heard a sound coming from outside. It was the sound of a trunk, that said truck (presumably so) was quite far away from him but since he wasn't a human, his hearing capabilities were much better.

He got up and moved over to the window, pulling back the curtains and peeking through to try and see what was outside. The truck sound was growing louder, so it would surely be in sight soon But due to the heavy snowfall – he wasn't able to see anything clearly, he only saw ashy grey.

He continued to stare outside, not able to see anything clearly and yet the sound continued to come closer and closer. Eventually, he was able to see a pair of headlight lights coming down the road towards the house.

Not wanting to spend any mana, he grabbed a necklace he was wearing, it took the form of a crystal tear. It was a legendary rank item called [malachite tear].

It was more like a tome but in the form of a wearable item, it held 30 charges and those thirty charges could be filled up with any spell and used anytime with the sole except being seventh tier spells which took two slots and eight tier spells which couldn't be stored.

Hayate had placed a high tier divination spell in it just in case.

Right now, he was just curious. He had no hostility towards the one driving the truck.

He was more like curious if it was someone dangerous or not.

Using the spell called [A hundred eyes of Buddha], he got a good view of the truck. His vision transferred to a hundred invisible eyes spread in a 100 meter radius around him. He could see through all of them and it was a headache.

A black truck, it was coming down the road driving at a steady pace, probably due to the slippery road and the heavy snowfall.

After a small while, the truck stopped in front of his house, just a hundred meters away.

The door's of the truck opened and ten people stepped out — walking towards his house.

Hayate's face remained neutral, he wasn't sure if these people were there for him or not but he could tell that they were carrying an assortment of guns and other firearms. This indicated that they were prepared for a confrontation.

"Should I kill them..no, no that's wrong. It's better to first see what they're here for. If they're here for me then I'll have to face them..but how did they figure out about me. As far as i know, when i walked into Neo-Tokyo, i was using [true invisitblity]. Is it that true Invisibility isn't affected by camera's and I was still seen on security cams, but then how can they trace me here. I teleported to my house and when I was outside i had true Invisibility on, did they come here after seeing my elemental.."

He was overthinking.

He watched as the ten men continued to approach the house and soon enough they reached the front door. Before they could get to his room he started taking protective measures for himself.

Hayate acted fast, he swiftly cast five spells in succession. First, he casted [Emergency Translocation], creating a safe escape path for himself if needed. This was followed by [Magic Nullification Field], preventing any incoming magical attacks. Then, he cast [True Shield], to strengthen his defenses further, followed by [EMP] and [sensory deprivation].

[EMP] was a 5th tier spell with an Area Of Effect (AOE) of 30 meters. When activated, the spell would release a potent electromagnetic pulse, producing a substantial burst of electrical energy. This created strong electromagnetic fields that would disable any nearby electronic devices or gadgets within the AOE. The spell was capable of rendering any electronic gadget temporarily useless for about 5 minutes. There were various electronics available for players in 'Hollow.' Firearms were one of them, and they ranged from traditional handguns to assault rifles, snipers, and even more specialized weapons like flamethrowers and rocket launchers. The game offered a wide range of customizability options for these weapons, allowing players to tweak their damage output, magazine size, and accuracy stats.

There were also Mechs, large military-style walking machines equipped with powerful weaponry and designed to act as a moving weapon platform. These could be heavily customized as well, with their stats adjustable by players to suit their in-game needs. In the game, there were several counters to players who specialized in certain types of builds, including those who used electronic weapons. One of these counters was the [EMP] spell, the spell that he was using which prevented the use of any electronic weapons that were below the "very rare."

In addition to the previous spells cast, he then called upon [Sensory Deprivation]. This spell isolated the area within a 20-feet radius around Hayate, effectively cutting it off from the outside world. Outside of the AOE one could not hear anything or see anything within the barrier.

Hayate sat down on the bed, his eyes fixed on the door. He could sense the figures of the humans outside, waiting just behind the door. One of them kicked the door, the door being knocked off its hinges and falling down. Suddenly, 10 figures, all wearing black suits with their faces covered, rushed into the room. They formed a circle around Hayate, guns drawn and aimed directly at him.

Hayate stood up straight, aware of his 7-foot height. He splayed out his wings, expanding them to make himself appear even more menacing. He then cast [Fear], a 2nd tier spell that induced a [Scared] effect among enemies below level 15. The spell instantly took effect, causing them to involuntarily experience intense fear in his presence. Despite the brave front he was putting up, he was terrified. Never before had someone pointed a gun at him. His heart hammered in his chest, a mix of fear and adrenaline coursing through his veins. But he couldn't show it, not when he was surrounded by 10 armed men.

"If you want to leave this place alive, I suggest you answer my questions," he intoned, his voice heavy with authority.
