EPISODE 215: POTENTIAL MADNESS 5
— GREAT EDRYAN, YEAR: 7292. SEASON: NEW BEGINNING.
Camilla Romus snarled, teeth bared in rage as she watched Margret die once again in the span of a few seconds. Her chest heaved, and her body shook, but she didn't stop moving, dodging the flaming drops that fell from the burning ceiling. Her eyes traced Akeem Oni, who was the sole remaining fighter occupying the dragon's attention.
They had over-calculated their strength and underestimated the dragon's. Camilla realized that within the first few seconds, as did most of the team. The Central Gate Army and the rest couldn't even scratch Rasheed's scales, and it took time for them to set up a conjoined spell that could do the necessary damage. Camilla doubted the dragon would give them the time to do so.
She tossed a spell here and there, doing her best to give Akeem the precious seconds he needed to readjust himself.
The warrior stayed mid-range from the [Final Dragon], doing his best to keep it distracted. Akeem frantically dodged, his body blinking from teleportation. His Intent spread around him in a tight formation that focused on noticing any attacks from (Law of Knowledge: Burning Sky). This was a spell of fluidity and Power he had never seen before. Its Power was enough to slay anyone it touched immediately. Margret was among the weakest of them in terms of defense, but Akeem wasn't keen on testing whether or not he could hold against it.
"TITIANA, WAKE UP—YOU'RE STRENGTH IS NEEDED NOW MORE THAN EVER. SUMMON THE MEDALLION, CALL UPON THE POWER OF THE EDRYAN PEOPLE," Camilla's anguished voice erupted over the battlefield.
The Demigoddess of Battle-Magic was frantic as she watched Akeem Oni struggle. Marna had distanced herself to stabilize Vivian and could not be of immediate assistance. Camilla didn't want to watch another companion die. She had watched too many over the years. The demigoddess clapped her hands together, preparing a spell that would use the last of her Battle-Magic Points. Ten different elements burst into the air around her, each forming orbs that silently spun with her at the center.
"(Divine Skill: Null World)," Camilla spoke, words like a curse as she cast them at the burning sky. Her rainbow colored eyes held hints of red within them, but no tears flowed. There would be time to cry later; right now, someone needed to create an opportunity to slay the [Final Dragon].
Of the ten elements surrounding her, the one that represented Fire grew listless and dull, its color immediately fading into a grey and slowing. Eventually, it came to a complete halt as if it was no longer allowed in this space. Then, the raging fires on the battlefield began to follow the same pattern. Launched Fireballs and other fire-based spells slowly dulled before halting completely. (Law of Knowledge: Burning Sky) fought fiercely, its flames silently consumed the ceiling and began to burn it away. No matter where one looked, the entire sky burned, giving the magi below the illusion that the heavenly body above was truly on fire. Any magi below unfortunate to be touched by the raining flames experienced the same tragic death the Demigoddess of Spell-Crafting did.
Camilla Romus's spell was like life-giving water in a dying man's desert. The Burning Sky struggled, but its flames were targeted. Slowly, the burning sky and raining drops of flame grew dull before eventually pausing in their positions. Camilla turned her gaze back to the [Final Dragon], red-tinged eyes filled with the same madness as his.
Queen Titiana hesitated. And, with each hesitation, precious seconds passed, leaving her remaining comrades to defend against the attacks of Rasheed alone. (The Queen's Indifference) warned her—it told her the best direction to act in, but her heart said another. How did she choose between her two lovers?
Her mind and her mental skills said to bring Liana back. A second frontline would be immeasurable in keeping Rasheed occupied while Titiana prepared her strongest set of skills. It would give her a chance to see those icy green eyes and wide stupid grin again. (The Queen's Indifference) eradicated the thought. Liana Drumian was a viable asset that would prove far more functional against the [Final Dragon] and his crazed actions. The woman was a strong defender, their strongest, and when Marna returned after stabilizing Vivian, the group's strength would further increase.
Her heart told her otherwise, even causing (The Queen's Indifference) to hesitate. A magenta-haired woman appeared in her heart, with her never-ending request for funding and large silver-rimmed glasses. She was a powerful [Magi] level mage, beyond such by now, and her esoteric magic would help in sticky situations. Perhaps that was the reason Rasheed first targeted her.
A cry from Camilla broke Titiana from her thoughts. She looked at her HUD, which displayed her new level and the surging strength within her.
"Status," Titiana summoned, taking a second to distribute her attribute points from her gained levels. Twenty-five each… just twenty-five levels from the deaths of her loved ones, but for a demigod that pushed her from the early stage to steps away from the late—from level 311 to 361.

Titiana felt the divinity within her churning; the seed, once planted, now sprouted and was close to entering a growth stage—to becoming a mature divinity and not the newborn stage the demigods resided in. From a seed, it had been ignited into a sproutling and now into a young tree that resided in the core of her soul. Titiana viewed it, a pink thing with strong vitality and eyes for leaves. Those eyes were identical to the one on her divine form. They blinked and gazed back at her, giving herself a sense of watching herself from different angles. What she saw was a strong naked woman with fierce determination that wasn't subtracted by the countless lacerations across her skin—wounds inflicted soul deep but never displayed on her physical body. Scars inflicted through her actions or those of others.
…
A new one was present.
…
It was shaped in a heart, like a burn wound already healed. It bulged out in a different, darker color than her skin. Half of it seemed gone, taken by those she loved who had passed. The rest was filled by a figure, one divine that she prayed for and was gifted by the Goddess. She smiled at it—she wasn't upset with Lawruthian… there was once only one thing she wouldn't sacrifice on her Path, now it became two. Titiana closed her eyes. The image of her rune flashed in her mind, and the tree before her bore itself a fruit.
When she opened them next, Liana Drumian stood before her, a complicated expression on her face. Behind her were the remnants of what seemed like a fruit, one divine and sprouted from Titiana's tree. Liana's complicated expression slowly settled. She closed her eyes and precious seconds that they didn't have the time to waste past. When she reopened them, they were calm, more focused, more decisive.
"Let's… put an end to this adventure," Liana sullenly spoke. Before Titiana could muster a response, the icy-green-eyed woman disappeared.
Queen Titiana, [Demigoddess of Love], turned her indifferent gaze to the raging battle. And, a moment later, she too disappeared.
Titiana reappeared next to the head of the dragon, a sharp kick aimed for his head. He weaved back, eyes touched with a hint of surprise at the speed of the demigoddess. She was faster, but it was still not enough. Titiana's actions gave Akeem Oni much-needed breathing room. The man immediately drew back, and Marna appeared behind him, placing a hand on his back and casually casting a restoration spell. Akeem's heaving chest calmed, but his red eyes only grew with intensity and fighting spirit.
"Liana," he called, nodding at Marna, who once again disappeared. It was unknown when the Prestige rejoined the battle, but she was hiding herself to keep safe. "Do you remember 7255, Lord Ogari's Castle, and the demon within?"
There was no response, but Akeem's message was sent. He clapped his hands together, and the Chi that circulated through his body roiled; the red flames flickered with hints of blue—sparks flew off, directly turning grey and null. His body vibrated at an intense frequency that threatened to split the Prestige in twain should he not calm his actions. It didn't help that Camilla's magic conflicted against him, doing its best to extinguish his flames.
"BOY, PAY ATTENTION—LET ME SHOW YOU THE POWER OF YOUR BLOODLINE. SHOULD YOU EVER HAVE A REMATCH AGAINST THE PRINCE, THIS IS WHAT YOU USE."
While Titiana targeted the dragon's head, Liana targeted its lower body. She couldn't properly wound it, its defenses proving too much for her, but that didn't take her out of the fight. The [Love Guard] held plenty of tricks up her sleeve, and as the words of Akeem resounded through her mind, Liana's eyes lit up for one intense bright moment. Then, like a raging bull seeing red, she heaved her shoulder into her weapon before jumping with all her might.
Titiana struck at this point, forcing Rasheed to keep his attention on her, now that he truly felt a hint of danger from her. He feint away, but kept the demigoddess close. "Such a noble class," Rasheed mocked. "Built to sacrifice others so that one may break past all obstacles in becoming a Divinity. Then, let's make it happen!'
Rasheed's tail snaked in the air, breaking through a pillar and headed for a hidden Marna. He hadn't paid attention to their conversation, knowing the only one who could truly hurt him was before his eyes. His attack missed, and his body swayed, thrown off balance as a powerful force impacted into his shoulder. Rasheed instinctively moved as he sensed the attack aimed at his chest.
…
Nearly, there.
…
They were nearly at the ending he wanted. Vertical pupils slid toward the [Chosen of Madris] even amid the battle. Perhaps he needed to step it up, kill a few more, and give Madris's Chosen the push he needed until everything was ripe for the plucking. G.E.N.E.S.I.S. was nearly there—all it needed was one final cycle to break past the boundaries of mortals and take a step toward the divine. What father wouldn't want to give his children the best possible start?
Liana's blow connected, forcing Rasheed off balance. Akeem moved at the same moment. His body seemed to flicker, almost like he was fading in and out of reality. The red flames once covering his body were all nearly blue—Akeem would rather die before he let magic restrict his Chi. His Intent burned brightly, creating a sphere around him that actively fought against all outside effects. Akeem had never tried to use this much Power before, and there was so much to learn about his new level in Prestige. Multiple multipliers were activated, allowing his strength to surge to a new realm.
"(Blue Emperor: Fire Fist — Shaking Heavens)."
A single gauntleted fist shot forward, ignited by the blue flames that covered the Oni's body. An apparition appeared behind him, one of a demonic-looking figure with horns emerging from his skull and a wild, fierce expression as it bared its teeth. Ogre-like canines dripped with the blue flames as it punched in tune with the man below. Blue flames erupted from Akeem's gauntlet, shooting forward with runic inscriptions carved within. Chi was a pinnacle warrior's path—one who solely dedicated themselves to fighting.
If Mind gets in its way, it restricts it.
Should Energy try to compete against it, it disrupts it.
"(Raging Vitality)," Akeem activated. Blood vessels in his body bursting as his bloodline ability activated.
The ogre roared, just as Akeem did. Their mouths opened as they used every ounce of Chi, Stamina, and nearly all the Health in their body. This was a technique that would expel everything to give him the greatest opportunity of defeating an opponent beyond his means.
The blue fist impacted into Rasheed's sternum, directly above where the egg is placed. And, the warrior smiled as he dropped from the air, the notification he wanted to see finally appearing. A gentle embrace caught him, but it could not wipe the smile from his face or the tears that fell from his eyes. It hurt to see your friends die and not hold the strength to avenge them. At least he knew if he gave it his all, then that could give them a chance to put and [End of Adventure].
