"That should fix you up," Madria smiled at the newly healed soldier. He displayed a grateful sign before returning to join his squad. Madria continued her duties; centered near General Alexandria, she served as a powerful mobile healing station for the most grievous of injuries.
Due to her understanding of the element of Life being at 100%, Madria only spent thirty mana to heal three hundred damages. She was more than thrice better than the average healer, and her class hadn't reached its full potential.
"How are your mana levels," Moona gently asked, her eyes full of concern for her little sister.
Madria glanced at her HUD, checking over her Life Points.

"I'm in top shape, that was my first heal of the night," she positively answered—showing her sister a thumbs-up sign. Moona Gamal glanced at her strangely before shrugging. She could see the Prince's influence on her little sister.
The battle was picking up, Lawruthian's defeat of the four-starred creature only invigorated the soldiers of the Imperius Army—Madria stayed back, but her gaze followed the young prince as he moved through the battlefield. He had a confident gate that Madria knew spelled trouble.
"It looks like I might be needed shortly," Madria pointed toward Lawruthian before immediately setting off. She'd interacted with the young man all too often to know when he was doing something dangerous or about to. He always had a confident swagger about him that showed.
"Just be careful, please. I understand you plan to show off your Heroic class on a larger stage, but you don't need to be so close to the frontlines for your upgraded skills to work," Moona gently chided as she waved her sister off.
Madria hid a smile as she moved through the troops, it was nice to see her eccentric sister on a more permanent basis. She turned her attention to the ongoing battlefield and the squads she moved between. Behind her, following closely, was a young knight of the Imperius Academy—his pledge to serve and protect her still stood, and Gamal House immediately brought the student contract after.
The battle was organized, with each squad carefully baiting and fighting targets in their power range. If a squad was low on Life Points, then another of the squads closer to the center would emerge to take their place. The returned squad would visit the dedicated healers should they need it or use this time to remove their issued potions.
"Don't leave without me," a bright, bubbly voice called. "I've just invented a new spell that I want to test, and we've just achieved our second evolution for the hero class—it's time we put it to good use!"
Madria smiled, of course, Amaya would accompany her. She turned to the young, magenta-haired woman. Amaya Musa was wearing the standard battle mage robes. A single steel piece covered her chest while a short black robe with magenta highlights fell just above her knees. She wore combat boots that were all part of one set, but like most mages, she wore no helmet.
Madria's attire was similar but orientated to her class as a [Priestess of Madris]. She was the [Imperius Life Saintess] and was decorated with hints of golden brown, as was the color of divinity. The major difference between the two was the golden circlet on Madria—it boosted the range of her aura by a factor of two.
"So, which one of these fantastic spells will you be displaying today," Madria asked as her aura reinforced the Imperius Priestesses spread throughout the army. "Gods, please don't let it be (Agent Orange)—that spell you used against the three Kappa Brothers—the stuff was in my hair for three days!"
Amaya loudly laughed, drawing attention from the surrounding soldiers. She waved a hand, and they returned to their duties, but not without curious expressions.
"It was NOT that bad—I was experimenting with using catalysts like those who use ritual magic. I just employed a higher degree of [Saffron Petals], which caused it to last longer," Amaya defended herself, a faux accusatory look on her face. "Hey—if not for what I did, there would have been a lot more casualties. The Imperius Army was barely able to fight against three-starred creatures, if not for me and Selene, then the damage would have been worse."
Madria gave her a side eye; their destination was nearly in sight. "What you did was add a new element of chaos to the attacking forces—if not for General Alexandria's quick thinking and Lieutenant Cass's quick thinking, that could have ended worse—you still owe her that keg you promised."
"I'll deliver, I'll deliver," Amaya chuckled. "This time, I'm not using any reagents to increase the spell power and effect. All I'll be doing is… illuminating our foes—we'll waste less time in identifying whom to target if they arrive color coordinated."
The champions of the Imperius Army moved through it regularly, and it didn't take long for the two to approach Lawruthian and those he was near. The young prince and his two helpers were battling a four-starred creature. Lawruthian and his golem served as the tank, while Simra Enlar and Lorde Drumian carefully attacked the creature. It was clear the two didn't hold the same confidence Lawruthian held and were extremely cautious with every attack.
Madria couldn't blame the two—a four-starred creature to them was facing death. Any wayward attack of it could kill them in a single blow. To Lawruthian, he found these creatures as something that barely met his requirements.
"Let me give them the confidence to fight without worries—(Imperius Blessing: War)," Madria activated as she approached the battlefield.

They were careful not to startle any fighters or the beasts they faced. Madria recognized the land wyvern as a [Black Diablo]—a scaly, dark creature with two off-white bullhorns and a spiked, mace-like tail that matched the horns. Similar to the [Tygrex], the [Black Diablo] was a land-based wyvern that created complex labyrinths as its home. It sported smaller wings that allowed it to glide, but not much else than that. Its main attractor was two large claw-like appendages at the forefront of its wings, allowing the creature to dig its complex tunnels quickly and efficiently. This version happened to be a highly aggressive offshoot of the regular creature.
Simra Enlar felt a new burst of energy fill her body as if a skill had been cast on her. She took a careful look back, and Madria gave her a distinct wave. She nodded in appreciation before turning her attention back to the fight. Her mind was exceptionally clear, and she noticed details about the creature she hadn't previously. Her understanding of the beasts in Edryan was limited to those below three stars. That was not because the knowledge wasn't available but because most students who transferred to Imperius College would further their education there. The Black Diablo clawed at the ground like a bull; its target was Lawruthian as he successfully kept the attention of the creature.
Simra barely saw it move in previous charges, but that changed once Madria's skill activated on her. Although her Power didn't have a significant leap, the young woman was now able to follow along with the charging creature. She let out a high-pitched whistle, signaling her partners as they began their hunt.
Lawruthian carefully dodged, choosing to strike the Black Diablo lightly rather than punishing it as it overshot its charge. His main goal in descending to fight alongside Simra and Lorde was to give both the opportunity to level facing higher opponents. He heard the high-pitched whistle of Simra and changed his position and tactics. All combat-based students could easily form teams and different formations due to the cohesiveness of the Imperius Academy. It was no longer direct master and disciple like the ways of the older schools—now it was a streamlined way of teaching. Perhaps a bit of the quality would be lost, but the quantity far succeeded the old, traditional method.
Black Diablo -145 Health Points.
The creature slowly turned, its gaze fixated on Lawruthian. While he kept its attention, Simra and Lorde Drumian moved towards its rear. Both fighters positioned themselves on the left and right, respectively—trapping the Black Diablo in a triangular formation.
"Adam, Defend."
The golem moved next to its master; its large shield was placed to intercept any of the beast's charges. The night's wind blew harshly, and a single drop came from the cloud-covered sky. Without the (Mage Lights) providing visibility then, the Imperius Army would have faced certain defeat. Thousands of creatures moved toward the brightly lit area under the cover of darkness. A second, then third, drop of rain quickly followed.
Lorde carefully prepared his strongest attack; his blade glowed green with the power of the wind. The same glow hovered over his feet, his movement skill activated to push him forward—instantly, at a moment noticed. Simra was much of the same; only flames lit her blade instead.
The Black Diablo charged again, the ground torn at its charge. Its body glowed with the power of the Earth as it accelerated, a brown glow that only grew stronger with each stride. There was no need for communication between the three—only action.
Adam stepped before its master, shield glowing with a defensive ability. Lawruthian's blade glowed with light—all three fighters were in positions ready to strike, just as they were taught.
The [Black Diablo] impacted the golem shield; sparks flew, and the rain fell. Adam was forced backward, but it quickly readjusted itself as the wyvern came to a halt. Three blades were inserted from three different but key positions. Like a puppet with its strings cut, the wyvern collapsed and the soldiers who gazed cheered. The two ladies watching only approached once the creature was confirmed dead.
"That was pretty cool," a bright-eyed Amaya stated. She'd prepared a few items since their arrival on the frontline.
"That was… easy," Lorde Drumian began, he wiped his blade of the creature's blood before turning to Lawruthian. "Even after [Stormforge Battlefield]… you're still stronger than us."
His voice was neutral, but it held a hint of curiosity. "You could have slayed it by yourself."
Lawruthian nodded, not hiding the fact, "I could have, but I'd also be wasting a lot more Life Points in doing so," he gazed at the helmed head of Lorde as he softly voiced a question. "What's the point in having companions if not to share the burden?"
"You're right, I'm not complaining—only I truly am coming to understand General Alexandria's mad drive into the dungeon. At first, I thought she was wantonly throwing the lives of her men away—now I see the sacrifice was worth it."
"Once this is all over, I'd love an account of what happened in the valley," Lawruthian responded, however, this time, his words were directed at everyone involved. He turned as a few knights approached. "Tobi take your men and assist the frontline squads in this area—if I am to head out, I'll signal you first."
Tobi saluted, nodded at the rest of them, and left with his group of six. Lawruthian watched them leave, his gaze surveying the battlefield for their next target. He only halted his surveillance once a few exclaims came from those around him.
He turned to Madria and Simra, whose eyes remained fixated on Amaya—the young woman was throwing items on the ground in a semicircular pattern. As she did so, she continued to whisper in the language of magic—so quiet that those around her couldn't make out her words.
Had it only been that, then the women wouldn't have gasped. Lawruthian's eyes landed on the creature they just defeated—its body was half decayed and with each word Amaya spoke it gradually accelerated.
"Ritual Magic—oh, no—not exactly, but she's taking elements from such practices," Lawruthian stated to himself.
His words were heard by Madria, and the young woman quickly gave him an explanation. "In Stormforge, she came with several new magical applications—especially when we were low on resources."
"Now I'm even more curious about your journey there—what exactly is she doing?"
Madria chuckled, then shrugged. "I actually don't know—she's been working on identification magic due to some incidents that occurred in the dungeon. This is supposed to be one of those spells."
"Whatever she is doing is having some effect—look," Simra pointed at the continuous horde of creatures.
A small glowing object began to appear over the heads of the creatures—each was strikingly clear to any user of the system who'd gazed at the status of a beast before.
"Stars," Lawruthian cocked his head. "She used the Diablo's body as a tonic with the runes that make up inspection magic to induce a general level of strength from creatures weaker than it."
Amaya finished her chanting, its effect only displayed on the creatures of this region of the army—however, what it did easily reorganized the fighting forces under General Alexandria's command. She gazed at Lawruthian strangely before she could appreciate her handy work.
"Well thank you for taking all the steam out of it," Amaya exaggerated. "It's not something I've worked on over the last few months and presented today."
"At least it's not (Agent Orange)—your last attempt was…," Lorde laughed, and an appreciative smile appeared on Madria's face.
Simra glanced at Lawruthian—the two were a bit confused but just shrugged. Ultimately, they chalked it up to what occurred in Stormforge Dungeon.
"(Agent Orange) wasn't that bad," Amaya defended. "At least this one doesn't have any other effect outside of showing the stars of creatures—come on, let's go to the other sides of the battlefield so I can recast it."
"…yeah, lets," the Prince responded. He pointed at their next target—a trio of four-starred creatures approached as a pack. "Are you confident?"
Simra raised her sword and shield, her stance clear. Lorde Drumian saw this and gave a soft smile under his helmed head. "House Drumian doesn't sway from challenges."
"I still have plenty of magical spells to try," Amaya began. "This researcher class makes insights so much easier to grasp thanks to its passive skill (Researcher's Insight)—lets test out some of my attack skills—I finally can have the fruition from slaying Zephyron come to light," Amaya rubbed her hands together gleefully.
Madria looked at their next targets—this time they weren't wyverns but other creatures that found themselves inhabiting the forest. They were familiar to her—much larger versions of the creatures fought in their first year final exam. That was the first time she saw the loss of life so close—it was the first time she saved a life with her own skill and no other to help.
"Well, this time it's time for me to try a new skill—(Life Link)."
