"What surprise requires such secrecy, and still..."
Yang Ming looked around the overly luxurious deputy director's suite in front of him and the bed big enough to sleep four or five people, then turned to Atro, who was looking smug.
"Does the Military Intelligence Bureau have so much funding? Isn't this a misuse of public funds?"
"Of course not," Atro quickly replied, "this was the previous deputy director's dormitory. I just made a few replacements and cleaned up a bit. Rest assured, there's not a trace of the previous deputy director left. The surprise is coming right up."
He clapped his hands, and a hidden door opened, from which came faint footsteps.
A surprise...is this it?
Two rows of Mechanical Guards dressed in maid outfits immediately walked out.
Calling them Mechanical Guards might slightly exaggerate their combat abilities, but to say they are 'top-tier sex robots armed with laser guns' is quite accurate.
These were twelve robots that appeared indistinguishable from humans, with a variety of beautiful features, body types ranging from slender to exaggerated, from delicate to robust, and different hair and eye colors, making Yang Ming ponder for a while.
"Are these also left by the previous deputy director?"
"Of course not," Atro laughed, "these are the latest products from a research institute, given to us to test their combat capabilities... you know, the New Federation's liquid robots have shocked us too much. Related research institutes within the Empire are being criticized heavily, and they must now prove that their technology is also valuable."
Having said that, Atro leaned close to Yang Ming's ear and whispered, "The surprise lies within them, now I want to test you, Hanton."
Yang Ming: ...
Wait, hasn't he seen simulation robots before?
Even if these simulation robots incorporate the Empire's top technologies, with skin made to be extremely delicate and lifelike, they are still just robots.
Just like the old Emperor of the Wind and the current fake Edwan in the Wind Palace, except for the core zone at the heart, they are made of materials almost indistinguishable from human bodies, but essentially, they are 'elderly' processing Intelligent Machines.
On his Dark Star, there is no shortage of various kinds of robots.
Of course, Yang Ming couldn't express his disdain; he approached one of the robots, raised his hand, and pressed her arm.
The texture of the skin, although not comparable to his ex-girlfriends, was indeed highly humanoid... hmm?
Yang Ming frowned slightly, suddenly extended his right hand to lift the chin of the maid robot, turning her head towards him, and locked eyes.
This isn't a robot.
"Transformed Body?"
Yang Ming asked in a low voice.
The robot just stared at Yang Ming, eyes still vacant.
Atro laughed, "You discovered that so quickly, but don't break her, each one costs tens of millions of Empire Coins. They have an integrated combat system, providing any auxiliary method you can think of, including ways to relieve stress for officers during tense times."
Yang Ming released the robot's chin, stepped back two steps, and examined each of the twelve robots.
His sensitivity was sharp enough to capture the 'human core' hidden within these machines.
"Atro, turning a living person into a robot is not a technology worth boasting about."
"Yes, of course," Atro immediately replied, "but what if these were girls suffering from terminal illnesses, who willingly donated their nervous systems?"
Yang Ming turned his head to look at Atro.
Atro spread his hands: "This research involves three components: biological computer technology, human brain and machine fusion experiments, and mechanical guards immune to the Intelligent Mechanical Crisis. Each of them is a command system, capable of simultaneously controlling three to five thousand semi-autonomous mechanical guards, and each brain has been turned into the most precise biological computer. Of course, this means they have a lifespan, each can run stably for about thirty years."
Yang Ming frowned, saying, "The Empire's experiments always cleverly avoid morality and human rights."
"Haha, human rights, that's the most laughable political term," Atro chuckled a few times, "Basic human rights are survival, and this experiment is meaningful."
"It certainly is meaningful," Yang Ming folded his arms and said softly, "once this technology is fully mature, the Empire will have the technological foundation for mechanical dimensional upgrade."
"Oh? What do you mean?"
"As long as the problem of immortality is solved, there will be an opportunity to step into the door of the high-dimensional world."
Yang Ming said:
"As you said, the biological computer system transformed from human brains in these bodies can only operate stably for thirty years, far from reaching the threshold of mechanical dimensional upgrade.
"Moreover, overcoming the technical challenge of how 'the consciousness within a body can avoid falling into chaos' is likewise a faint hope with the current human understanding of consciousness in the Milky Way.
"How do these start?"
"Here's the user manual," Atro placed a projection disc in Yang Ming's arms, "Don't worry, the Princess will never be jealous of these robots, enjoy."
Having said that, Atro constantly raised his eyebrows and walked away leisurely.
Yang Ming looked at these twelve beautiful simulation robots, pondering lightly.
The user manual was simple and clear, explaining how to start and set the biological information of the 'owner.'
Yang Ming also wanted to learn more about the Empire's development level in Intelligent Machines. He felt these beauties should be more mature and comprehensive than the technology of the Intelligent Machine Old Emperor.
