Chapter 365: The Fierce Battle Part 3

The warships of the Empire's vassal states appeared on the left wing of the reinforcements, a motley crew, but the number of ships was over three thousand.

The most deadly part was that behind these reinforcements, a batch of pitch-black warships appeared, like ghosts from ancient times, quietly watching the enemies of the Empire.

This was the true 'Levi' fleet.

Although not many in number, only over a thousand ships, it was enough to express the Empire's firm resolve to fight this war to the end.

After the fierce battles prior, both the Empire and the New Federation suffered huge losses. After reinforcements arrived, neither side was confident enough to completely defeat the other, leading to a tacit mutual retreat.

But the Empire did indeed lose.

Mainly, the Imperial Military Department withdrew the defensive line to prepare for further aggression from the three major powers, and the New Federation took the opportunity to reclaim four Administrative Stars.

In terms of ship and soldier losses, both sides were actually at a stalemate.

The five major fleets had a quarter of their ships directly destroyed, with another thirty percent of the ships needing repairs. Of the twelve Dreadnoughts, four became cosmic dust, and two needed to be brought back for major repairs.

Losing a quarter of the ships was equivalent to losing a quarter of the manpower. The lifeboats and escape pods on these ships were simply decorative in such intense warfare.

The Shield Ships and Supply Ships suffered the most losses, while the Firepower Ships were heavily damaged.

The New Federation was in a worse situation, with two main fleets losing their numbers and organization. Starting with numerical superiority at the beginning of the battle, they ultimately suffered the loss of seven thousand warships.

The good news was that most of the lost ships came from irregular forces and old ships that were 'unsealed and restarted'.

The bad news was that they didn't have many ships needing repairs, and the amount of loss was approximately equal to the amount destroyed.

The Guel Alliance and the Free Federation each lost several hundred ships, each sacrificing tens to nearly a million soldiers.

As the battle came to an end, the network world of the Milky Way immediately erupted.

The general public opinion was:

[The Empire faced three enemies and was defeated, yet still honorable, while the New Federation, despite having more numbers, suffered heavy losses.]

Of course, this outburst didn't affect the political confrontation between the stars. The Empire's military department and foreign affairs department became active, and a lot of voices questioning the government emerged in the Guel Alliance and the Free Federation.

Why did they participate in the war?

If they decided to join the war, why couldn't they annihilate the Empire's expedition fleets, and instead, just resulted in mutual detriment?

Now that the Empire already sees the two countries as enemies, if the New Federation loses this war, they will inevitably have to face the Empire's Invincible Fleet...

And so on, the discussions never end.

Half of the Milky Way truly became a chaotic mess.

...

The flagship of the Empire's warship group.

A group of generals' projections appeared all around the bridge, each quietly holding their military hat, with a low and mournful tune playing in the background, mourning the Imperial soldiers who turned into cosmic dust in this battle.

After the memorial event, without any delay, Admiral Thomas convened a military debriefing meeting.

During the meeting, each battle group's commanders gave brief introspective reviews, summarizing the deficiencies that appeared across the fleets before the Emperor Guard System took over the battle.

Yang Ming listened throughout, and his deepest sentiment was still the 'professionalism' of the Imperial Army.

In human warfare, the higher the amount of technology, the less the soldiers' personal beliefs and morale influence the outcome of the battle.

The combat power of the Imperial Army is truly terrifying.

"Hanton, what do you think?"

Admiral Thomas suddenly named him. Yang Ming wasn't fazed and after deliberating for a few moments, he slowly sighed: "This battle is not the army's fault."

Several generals each sighed.

Yang Ming said seriously:

"It's not you who needs to be critiqued, I observed the entirety of this battle; I saw the precision of your commands and the bravery of our soldiers with my own eyes.

"The problem is, why did the Guel Alliance and the Free Federation suddenly join the battle?

"You can see that they were also unprepared at the start, their combat will was not solid, and the number of ships brought wasn't exaggerated. It seemed more like a decision made in haste rather than a premeditated plan with the New Federation.

"Why did these two begin to wage an aggressive attack regardless of casualties by mid-battle? It doesn't quite make sense, it's too abnormal."

An old general sighed: "What's happened has happened, we must prepare for the worst and prepare to fully confront the other three major powers with the strength of our nation."

"This time our regular military strength has suffered significant consumption; thirty percent of the ships need repairs, and in the next three months, we will face a noticeable shortage of forces."

"Yes, the collusion of the three forces not only put massive pressure on our expedition but also poses a considerable threat to the entire Empire. Local defense forces need support, and various regional emergency forces also require a significant amount of resources."

"Are we going to abandon these eight Administrative Stars? With those four Administrative Stars taken away by the enemy, a series of negative impacts regarding plunder orders will surely arise next, and we will find ourselves at an absolute disadvantage in terms of discourse."

General Thomas said: "We are only discussing military matters; prepare appropriately for countering potential enemy sneak attacks and await orders from above."

"Did everyone see when the Levi Fleet was previously activated?"

The generals fell silent.

Yang Ming asked: "Is there any taboo about this?"

"There isn't any taboo," Admiral Thomas said seriously. "Don't worry about them, we just follow our own pace in battle. If not for the Emperor Guard System this time, we couldn't have defended even one of these twelve Administrative Stars. Meeting adjourned."

Emperor Guard.

The silhouette of that ponytailed girl appeared in Yang Ming's mind.

Even though such a comparison might be a bit shallow, still... our Little Lyu is indeed prettier.
