Darkstone Code

Chapter 498: 0496 Withdrawal Syndrome

It turns out that there are some areas where women always have a natural and irresistible advantage over men.

Except for a few individual anomalies, most men are no match for women in this regard.

After spending some time with Lynch, Penny had to get back to work. The unrest was gradually calming down; the whole country was stabilizing. Under the powerful armed intervention, people finally remembered the fear of the ruling class.

Those forgotten have been freely shot anywhere, and only returning home is safe for locals, so there are not many locals on the streets now.

They are exceedingly afraid of the hunting teams suddenly appearing in front of them, laughing unpleasantly while pulling the trigger and shooting them dead on the street just because they left home.

After the unrest subsided, all aspects were quickly recovering. There were more workers wearing little red vests on the road, who first appeared on the main roads of the city center, striving to clean the hard ground with some distinctly second-hand old machines.

After various harsh environmental treatments, the soil had become exceptionally hard; striking it with a hammer, some oily spots would only leave a white mark.

These people were cleaning the ground in preparation for the next paving.

After the storm, a brand-new world appeared before people, who were curious, expectant, and a bit apprehensive and ready, or ready to welcome a new Nagariel.

So the film crew in the hotel had to start working too. Every extra day spent meant a huge loss to the film crew. They had all signed contracts, stipulating that if they exceeded the contractual timeframe, they must compensate the contractors according to the standard on the contract.

Not just the actors, everyone else in the crew signed this agreement, which made little Fox anxious. To show his respect for Lynch and for other reasons, he personally came to talk to Lynch about this matter.

Lynch understood his meaning; this guy meant "you have had your fun, now let that chick get back to work, time waits for no one!" Of course, to refrain from being too blunt, he also mentioned welcoming Lynch to visit the set if he needed anything.

Lynch agreed with this. Relax when it's time to relax, work when it's time to work; don't bring personal emotions into the work. So after a night of battle, the battle devil was finally subdued.

The girl's level had been improving quickly recently; that's the talent of women. She appeared reluctant, like a girl truly in love.

"I really don't want to work. Maybe after this job ends, I can ask the company for a long vacation…" she said tentatively while waiting for the crew's car at the coffee bar at the hotel entrance.

When these young girls hint at their desires, Lynch naturally knows what they want, he simply responded naturally to this question, "Everyone loves pleasure, but we should pursue things beyond pleasure."

"Decades later, when you lay in the yard basking in the sun, if your granddaughter or grandson asks you what memorable things you did at their age, you can't tell them you went around making out with a man all day!"

"You need to have valuable assets in your memory akin to gold. It's not easy coming to this world; leave something for yourself, leave something for this world, that's what we should do."

The girl's eyes seemed a bit dreamy, "What you're saying is deep and seems very reasonable; is this what you are doing now?"

Actually, Lynch wanted to tell her what she wanted was just a withdrawal symptom of her brain's dependency on hormones and dopamine, which would pass in time. But he knew saying that wouldn't help; better to say something incomprehensible.

Lynch nodded, saying, "I'm changing the world!"

This made the girl laugh, she then waved her hand repeatedly, "Sorry, I'm not laughing at you, I know you are truly doing that, I just felt like laughing."

She took a breath, "Wouldn't you try being an actor? I think you could become an amazing male actor!"

"Sincerely!"

To Lynch, becoming a top actor seemed an easy feat; his acting skills had been honed through countless refinements. He was not fond of them.

He pointed outside the glass window, "The crew's car is here!"

The girl turned to see several cars outside the hotel; besides two vehicles reinforced with steel bars, there were two all-terrain off-road vehicles also reinforced with steel bars and equipped with people holding guns.

These individuals were employees of Darkstone Security, their costs included in the film's investment. When the box office hits, Lynch could get an extra share, though of course, this was just a joke; no one cared about such a little money.

"The car is here…," Penny sighed as if speaking to Lynch or herself, without any voice of retention, knowing it was time.

"I should go too, when will we meet again?"

Lynch stood up, helping the girl with her luggage, "I'll return home to handle some things by year-end. If your progress is fast, we might meet around that time."

At the hotel entrance, the girl turned to embrace Lynch, then quickly left with the Broker's help onto the car.

Lynch stood at the hotel entrance, took out a pack of cigarettes, lit one, and watched the convoy disappear.

He disliked farewells, especially with acquaintances; the feeling of parting wasn't better than the feeling of earning money.

Whenever those lovely numbers kept increasing, the feeling was much better than seeing people off.

Not long after, the car that would pick him up arrived.

Drag was also in the car, which surprised Lynch, "I thought you wouldn't come."

They were heading to a meeting at City Hall. The unrest was over, many wealthy individuals suffered impacts, whether their industries or personal safety were threatened.

A large number had returned to God's embrace, others were hurt or scared.

After this turmoil, if City Hall doesn't stand up and give an explanation to pacify these people, that would indeed be unbelievable.

Lynch was invited as one of the outside investors at the meeting. Even the mayor's speech core content was personally written by him, not trusting an idiot mayor to handle such a straightforward formal discussion; he could only do it himself.

So, in a strict sense, Lynch was only there for formality in the afternoon's meeting.

He attended just as an example, a demonstration.

Drag laughed, "There's news from Royal Capital, saying they want us to sit and talk..."

As the car gently started, he closed his mouth, only continuing after the car started moving, "The Federation put a lot of pressure on the royal family, now it seems they can't bear it, and prepare to agree to the Federation's demand to increase the value of Nagariel in the foreign exchange market."

Upon hearing this, Lynch roughly had a sense of it; Truman's work made breakthrough progress, knowing it internally, but showing no expression externally.

After observing Lynch for a while without any gain, Provincial Governor Drag only then asked the second question, "How should I act?",

Pushing Nagariel's appreciation wasn't simple, yet it wasn't overly complex. Simply put, as long as a survey team produces a geology report recognized by a world-class authoritative exploration organization, indicating the discovery of a rich mineral deposit, Nagariel's value could rise.

Although this appreciation is slow, resource power must be based on mining speed and annual output, with no change seen in the short term.

The real change is possible by another method, which was discussed previously by the Federation and Nagariel representatives, involving Federation Sol.

Once the Central Government acquires a certain amount of Federation Sol as part of the scheduled foreign exchange reserves, boosting Nagariel appreciation would have enough conditions; the Federation's announcement of acquiring a certain amount of Nagariel means its appreciation is imminent!

This is exactly what Provincial Governor Drag wanted to consult about, asking how to best proceed.

Earlier, the diplomatic delegation didn't agree with the Federation on this issue because the Federation Government required that this part of foreign exchange be stored in designated banks with certain national characteristics, and must accept Federation's supervision and management, not allowing random withdrawal.

Nagariel's political forces revolve around each Province, having these Provincial Governors put their money into the royal family's pocket means sleepless nights; only the royal family sleeps soundly, waking with laughter.

Now it seems there's operational foundation again; the Provincial Governor is unsure how to proceed without harming personal interests, yet secure some benefits.

He constantly reminded himself that he was already a Federation citizen, needing to think for himself and the Federation.

Lynch pondered slightly, "I haven't discussed this domestically yet, nor did United Bank inform me, but I have an idea. Do you know about the six major banks of the Federation entering?"

Provincial Governor Drag nodded, having hosted these individuals before.

Lynch continued, "You all can establish a Nagariel International United Bank with the six major banks and store this foreign exchange reserve, managing it together, which might be a bit more acceptable?"

After he said this, he nonchalantly watched Provincial Governor Drag, not naively thinking Corporal Governor Drag was completely concerning himself as a Federation citizen, working for the Federation.

Notably, even Federation citizens consider personal interest, some profiting through treason.

Before profit, nationality is unreliable. Only when nationality and country bring benefits do merchants recognize them!

Someone once said that merchants, capitalists are the biggest anarchists in the world!
