Infinite wealth In A New World

Chapter 304: That Is The Plan

[Biden Town. Night Time. Qin Family Residence - Private Study.]

Qin Li grumbled, dropping onto the plush velvet couch in his family's private study. The room was dimly lit by a glowing Lamp, its soft blue light a stark contrast to the deep black of the Biden Town night outside. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes, fixing a slight frown on his older sister.

"Sister, why did you wake me so late? I should be resting for my training," Qin Li complained, demonstrating his focus on internal cultivation.

Qin Wei ignored his petulance. She wore a simple, silk robe, but her blue eyes were sharp with intellectual excitement.

"I did some deep investigation about your two friends," Qin Wei said, gesturing toward Robert, who stood respectfully before them.

"Huh? I told you. You won't see any public records on them; they aren't from this world," Qin Li muttered, dismissing the effort as futile, recalling the strange, instantaneous nature of Alex's power deployment.

"Not exactly," Robert interjected, his voice calm, placing a thin, ancient-looking book bound in dark leather onto a small table. This book was labeled 'Chronicles of the Lower Realm.'

"We sent a coded word to your father." Robert explained. "He sent this book and a confidential report. He mentioned a King in the Lower World who defeated the Great Mother Fragment—a colossal entity in the supreme world."

He tapped the book. "Judging by your description when you first encountered them—that they weren't yet powerhouses, but possessed overwhelming potential—it strongly suggests they came from this Lower World. And if my guess is correct, they are connected to this King. His name is God Wolf."

Qin Wei leaned forward, her casual poise momentarily broken by the weight of the information. "A King that can defeat a fragment of the Great Mother is not someone we can mess with, even if he's currently confined to a Lower World. Think about it: if such a person enters the Upper World, with access to its richer spirit veins and more complex equipments, just imagine how quickly he would ascend."

"Wait," Qin Li sat up straight, all traces of sleep vanishing. "You guys think this God Wolf sent Alex and Isabella? Why? Is it explicitly to participate in the Succession Wars and take over the throne?"

"We don't know that yet, Young Master," Robert said with a sigh. "Their intentions remain opaque."

"Even your father emphasized that we shouldn't cross them if we don't want to provoke God Wolf himself. If they're partaking in the throne competition, Elder Miss will just have to fight them. But it's complicated, as there are no historical rules against summoning in the trials." Robert conceded, remembering Sunny's unexpected army of Earth third Order creatures.

Qin Wei rose, pacing slowly across the room, the silk robe rustling softly. "With what I have observed, Mr. Alex won't casually show his full skill; he reserves it for genuine need. And the competition? You saw it! He is a Fourth Order, yes, but one capable of summoning entire battalions of Third Order creatures. We are both on the same rank, and I am not even sure I can defeat him, let alone his King, God Wolf." She exhaled, the gravity of the situation settling upon her.

"So what's the plan? We are in too deep to simply withdraw." she asked, looking to Robert for a political strategy.

"Have you guys wondered if Mr. Alex is God Wolf himself?" Qin Li suddenly asked, offering a bold, if slightly reckless, thought.

Robert shook his head instantly. "No. The records state God Wolf is from the Beastify Race, specifically a half-wolf, half-human hybrid—a distinctly different physical manifestation. There is no way we could miss such a person. So for now, let's treat them as potentially vital, if temporary, allies. It would be suicidal to offend any of them now. They are both forces, monsters in their own right," Robert said, recalling the cold, terrifying ease of Josephine's attack.

"Agreed then," Qin Wei confirmed, making the final strategic decision. "We go with the plan. We will maintain a good, collaborative relationship with them, offer assistance where feasible, and see how everything turns out. Perhaps this foreign factor might even work in our favor against the other Human Kingdom families." She turned toward the staircase.

"Um... Sister, what if you encounter him directly in the competition trials? The final round is rarely cooperative," Qin Li asked with a hint of genuine concern for her safety.

Qin Wei paused on the first step. "I will give all I've got," she said, her blue eyes gleaming with aristocratic pride and determination. "I won't back down because of his army. The Qin family doesn't cede ground." She then continued up the stairs, heading to her chambers.

"She woke me up with existential dread and now she's the one going to bed first," Qin Li grumbled, rolling his eyes dramatically.

Robert chuckled, a rare show of humor. "I will have my leave, Young Master. Goodnight. Sleep on the wisdom of your father." Robert bowed and walked out of the house.

Qin Li stared at the empty doorway for a second, then stretched, standing up and walking towards the stairs.

"I wonder what those two are doing tonight... His wife is just too beautiful, a true Queen," he murmured, ascending the stairs slowly. "If I were Mr. Alex, I would be taking care of her every single night and morning, securing that unique bond."

[Next Day. Biden Town Inn - Tavern.]

Sunny slowly opened his eyes, the morning sun filtering through the window of the room. He turned his head from the ceiling to Josephine, who was sleeping beside him, resting her head comfortably on his chest.

He smiled, a private, tender expression, and slowly and quietly eased himself away from her warmth. He sat up, then walked toward the bathroom. After brushing his teeth, he changed into a set of commoner clothes—a simple, practical cotton tunic and breeches, ideal for blending in and observing the local populace. He moved back to the bed and placed a tender kiss on Josephine's silver hair.

"I will be back," he whispered, acknowledging the need for their individual tasks.

He walked out of the room. Josephine slowly opened her eyes, a contented smile spreading across her face as she registered his absence, then closed them back, trusting his word implicitly.

Sunny descended the wooden staircase into the tavern below. The morning was underway, and the air was thick with the smells of stale ale, woodsmoke, and cooking oil. He moved his gaze across the few people present—local merchants, a few weary travelers, all eating and drinking their breakfast rations—and walked toward the counter.

"Good day, VIP guest," the middle-aged Inn owner greeted him. He bowed slightly. "What can I help you with today?"

"I need fried eggs, with bread and fruit juice. If you can, add a red rose on the plate and also a small cake," Sunny ordered, the request a precise, loving gesture for Josephine's breakfast.

The man blinked at the romantic specificity, remembering the stunning woman who had accompanied Sunny last night. He quickly nodded:

"Right away, Sir! An excellent choice for the morning." He then gestured to a sturdy young woman who had just finished serving a table of rowdy men.

"Come here, there is an important order to take care of," he instructed.

"Right away, Boss."

The lady nodded, but before she could move away, the only woman in the group of men—a woman with the brazen confidence of a local, low-ranking noble or a successful adventurer—grabbed her arms.

"No. She is still serving us," the woman said, holding the server firm and staring at Sunny with a smirk, instantly challenging the newcomer's authority.
