Chapter 639: Principal's Office

"You damn well deserve a beating!" Lin Yi sneered, with a trace of Kuai Hongji's shadow.

"Okay, okay... don't hit me, don't hit me..." Wei Liang raised both hands in surrender, "Let's talk about something serious. Since that's the case, you should have a name, right..."

"A name... is it that important?" Lin Yi munched on some chips.

"Very important."

"If it's so important, then just pick one randomly."

"Hey, don't get it wrong, I said it's very important, you know! Hey, hey, stop eating snacks, pick a name first, damn it!"

Wei Liang reached out and snatched the bag of snacks from Lin Yi's hand.

But as soon as the bag of snacks left Lin Yi's hand, it immediately transformed into colorful fragmented glass-like crystals, as if he had grabbed the "Primordial Ash Apostle" in his hands, and when it fell into Wei Liang's hand, the fragmented glass-like crystals turned back into a bag of snacks.

"Snacks..." Lin Yi squinted slightly.

"Hey, hey, hey!" Wei Liang shouted, "Lin Shi? What kind of stupid name is that! This time you are the 'main character', shouldn't you be a bit serious!"

"First time... main character... then don't call it snacks, call it Ling Yi..."

"Hey, you really are this casual...?"

"Not really." Lin Yi spoke while glancing at the cover of the book left by the principal, "The Black Moon Outpost and the Layer Anchors & Architectural Design Between It and S City University."

The cover seemed to be filled with strange symbols, some resembling mathematical formulas, some like graphic runes, and among them a string of text, seemingly "4-0-1-6" or something similar.

Just as Lin Yi saw the mysterious symbols, countless rapid flashes went through Lin Yi's mind but quickly faded away.

"Ling Yi it is then. So, old Ling, what kind of assistance do you need?"

As soon as Wei Liang said this, the shadowy area akin to a cabinet meeting surged with movement, with countless figures seemingly eager for his call.

But as soon as Lin Yi spoke, he made a decisive judgment, "Still the old rules, there have been many variables, and tactics have changed, but the familiar combination needs to be retained."

"Hohoho..." Amidst the shadowy figures came a series of eerie laughter, extremely dissatisfied with his hasty decision.

"I've already decided, no need for you to clamor any further." Lin Yi frowned slightly, a rare serious expression in his eyes, as if suppressing some odd stirring thoughts.

Then, strands of light fell into the dark space akin to a cabinet meeting, like spotlights, locking onto four figures on the seats.

When the spotlight was focused, the light that fell on Lin Yi also faded somewhat, as if it had been shared out.

Lin Yi's gaze followed the shifting light and shadows.

These four figures were all indistinct; in the darkness, they looked humanoid but now seemed to lack any solid form.

They were respectively masses of black-gray gas, surrounded by countless gleam-like Golden Sand, like stars and spring waters, reflecting two dim black-gray lunar glows.

A mass of blue-golden gas, with crimson eyes within the aura, seemingly filled with a murderous intent.

A mass of dark green with a hint of golden gas, its core resembling an emerald-like gem, flickering as if about to annihilate at any moment.

And a wisp of pale golden light, twinkling, completely invisible under the spotlight, like nihility, yet like a vortex.

These four breaths initially appeared as breaths, but on closer inspection, seemed to conceal shadowy figures beneath them...

"If that's the case, then you should each pick a name..."

"Do we need names? What do you call yourself?"

Lin Yi said, "I'll just be... Ling... Yi."

"Are you serious?" Wei Liang confirmed once more, "Ling Yi... that's a terrible name..."

"Then 'Lin Yi' it is." Lin Yi replied.

"So what about us...?"

"Since there's Ling Yi, why not just count off the rest... Zero, One, Two... Three, Four, Five! Hahaha..."

"What do you all think?"

With laughter, the figures within the shadows gradually darkened, as if everything was warping.

"Whether you agree or not doesn't matter, first come, first served, if none of you will speak, I will..."

When the first spotlight on the dark steps dimmed, a figure mysteriously appeared at the center table.

A lanky figure, with countless gleam-like Golden Sand floating around him, reflecting two dim black-gray lunar glows.

"Double moons for Kuai... I'll call myself Kuai Hongji."

"Then I... Wei San?"

Another light dimmed, swiftly followed by a mass of blue-golden aura appearing atop the table.

The aura wriggled and transformed, then seemed to contract fully, retreating into a fat man's body.

The figure was unmistakably Wei Shan's appearance.

"How about a pun?"

"Wei Shan?" the fat man said.

Lin Yi glanced around, "And you?"

Kuai Hongji sneered, "Young Master Tian isn't speaking, why don't you be Fourth Elder Tian, and Mao the Fifth?"

"Mao the Fifth is hilarious, Mao Feiwu sounds more like it..."

"Mao... Fei... W...u... Fly... Five... how about Mao Feiyang?"

"Mao Feiyang works too... What about you, Fourth Elder Tian?"

"Doesn't matter," Tian Bufan said leisurely, "just Tian Bufan."
