Don't Mess with That Dragon

Chapter 197: Giant Tumor

These mysterious pyramids should be the main culprit causing the corruption and erosion of the Forest Land.

With the pyramid at its core, mysterious dark energy traverses and spreads beneath the soil, forming a path that continuously extends outward, plundering energy substances akin to the vitality of the land, transforming it into a paradise for zombie activities.

Once a piece of land is completed, the zombie army will surge forth again to occupy a large territory and construct a new pyramid, eroding new land.

Austin didn't know what those mutant evil spirits were, nor what was going on with the endless zombie creatures on the wasteland.

But from the current situation, once the pyramid a hundred miles away from the Dragon Nest Tribe is completed, the land the zombie creatures will next plunder will inevitably include the range of the Dragon Nest Tribe's territory.

To fight or to flee, Austin had yet to decide.

However, fleeing without probing the gap between them, abandoning the hard-won Dragon Grass Tribe's foundation, was clearly not Austin's style.

At the very least, I need to test it out.

"Super Electromagnetic Cannon!"

Atop the mountain, Austin opened his mouth, and the massive membrane wings behind him unfolded like a shadow covering the sky.

The next moment,

Fizz!

Bolts of electricity flashed out of thin air, transforming into electric snakes that spread out, and the bronze components prepared on the ground were immediately attracted by an invisible force, floating in the air in front of him.

Upon the peak, arcs of electric light danced wildly like longs snakes, tearing through space while dazzling blue light illuminated the entire mountain. At that moment, it seemed as if the entire mountain was shrouded by thunder and lightning.

The zombies below detected the rumbling from the mountain top and began swaying toward it, but halfway up the mountain, they were annihilated into ashes by the lightning in the sky.

As the electric light atop the mountain grew increasingly blinding, there seemed to be a terrifying power accumulating in the air.

The suffocating feeling was akin to a volcano, repressed for millennia, about to erupt!

At a certain moment,

Boom!!!

An enormous pillar of dazzling yellow light burst forth, its blinding radiance engulfing everything, even dimming the very light in the sky, all the colors between heaven and earth coalescing into that single pillar of light!

The terrifying energy made even the air boil; that pillar of light seemed to pierce through space, bringing world-destroying energy as it roared toward the base of the pyramid being constructed.

Austin knew well the power of a complete pyramid.

The first time he saw zombie figures to the southwest, during an investigation deep into the wastelands, he happened to witness a pyramid under construction, resulting in him nearly being killed by an inexplicable energy emanating from it.

Because of that previous experience, Austin had been cautious over the past three days, constantly probing the outer perimeter but not encountering any counterattacks from the pyramid's base.

This also led Austin to understand that perhaps the base of the pyramid being constructed was yet incapable of launching an attack!

Thus, Austin boldly targeted the mountain's peak, firing an electromagnetic cannon straight at the pyramid base.

The enormous yellow light beam seemed to instantly pierce through a vacuum, spanning over a thousand meters, poised to shatter the pyramid base being constructed.

Yet at that moment,

The zombie army, dense like a black ocean previously transporting materials beside the base, suddenly surged up like flowing water, in an instant enveloping the entire base. At the same time, it grew and spread at a visibly rapid pace, transforming into a massive, grotesque, and decaying fleshy tumor thousands of meters high, covering and protecting the entire base beneath it.

"What!!!"

Though it sounds lengthy, all of this happened in just a moment. The tumor formed by countless zombie creatures completely enveloped the pyramid's base, and when the light beam of the electromagnetic cannon reached it, the massive terrifying tumor split open with a gigantic mouth, displaying grim serrated teeth, black pus draining down, the black gaping maw seeming as if it swallowed all light.

Gulu!

The enormous maw swallowed the firing electromagnetic cannon whole, the yellow light beam abruptly vanishing.

Moreover, simultaneously, the monstrous tumor abruptly swelled, quickly expanding like a balloon on its surface, bursting with a pop in an instant, oozing foul liquid sprayed everywhere, interspersed with rotten flesh plummeting down like rain.

"What... what the hell is this!?"

Austin stared blankly at the transformations ensuing in front of him, dumbfounded.

Now, the area where the pyramid's base was located was already enveloped by a twisted, grotesque tumor fleshy mass towering over a thousand meters high, yet that decaying tumor mass had already been blasted away more than half, as if a huge chunk had been scooped away with a spoon.

And as a large number of zombie creatures swarmed from all directions, continually merging into that massive tumor, the previously vacant spot was growing and restoring at a visibly rapid rate, restoring to one whole unit.

Originally zombies, and things like pyramids appearing in the Otherworld had already left Austin utterly shocked.

And now, this flesh-tumor-like zombie collective protecting the pyramid's base further broke Austin's worldview entirely.

With his good eyesight, Austin could clearly see the composition of the grotesque tumor, and it was precisely because of this that he felt an immense shock rising within him.

But within the giant tumor, the disgusting, sticky mucus filled every corner, seemingly melting part of each of the zombie creatures' decayed bodies and bonding them into one entity, with some eerie white skeletons still exposed.

It's like each decayed zombie has become a cell, forming this horrifying, grotesque giant tumor flesh mass with disgusting mucus linking them all!

And now, that giant tumor was continuously growing and restoring, completely encasing and protecting the pyramid's base within, like a real living entity.

Austin felt chills creeping all over him,

What exactly are these mysterious pyramids?!

Not only can they devour the power of the earth, but they also control zombie creatures to protect themselves, transforming zombie creatures into a tumor-like biological collective.

The feeling is as if the entire pyramid is a command brain system, issuing orders to all zombie creatures nearby, and if necessary, it can gather zombie creatures to form a new amalgamated life form.

And at the root of all these transformations, what sort of existence is the ultimate mutant evil spirit?

Soon enough, the enormous tumor had squirmed and processed back into shape, and from a distance, you could still see deep within amidst the decaying mucus-covered surface, one could make out the multitude of sinister white bones like tiny white ants...
