Don't Mess with That Dragon

Chapter 180 Entering the Woodland (3rd Update)

Whether it was Rodney or the Fox-faced Man Quik, Bill revered both of them immensely. Simply standing in such positions was a huge honor.

At the same time, it also sparked a yearning within Bill's heart.

According to what Bill learned from early Dragon Nest Beastmen, these two great figures were initially just ordinary Beastmen. But after meeting the great His Highness Austin, their fate changed, and they grew to become prominent figures among thousands of Beastmen.

If the positions were swapped, could I also become one of the fortunate ones?

Amidst admiration, a thought Bill dared not hope for suddenly emerged from his heart.

In truth, Ratman Bill was unaware that Lizardman Rodney, Fox-faced Man Quik, and the Kobold Vini still managing the Dragon Nest Tribe, were not favored by Austin simply because they were the earliest to join the Dragon Nest Tribe, nor was it nepotism. It was due to the experiences they gained from long-term management of the Dragon Nest Tribe's operational systems.

Currently, the three are indeed the most suitable Beastmen to manage the various operations of the Dragon Nest Tribe because, through two years of step-by-step training, they have been deeply influenced by Austin's modern thinking. They are far more familiar with the framework Austin set up in the Dragon Nest Tribe compared to other Beastmen managers, and among a group of mediocre Beastmen, they naturally stood out to handle the tribe's various affairs.

Initially, Rodney, Quik, and Vini's talents in their respective Domains among Beastmen might have been considered above average. Yet, through Austin's guidance and subsequent wealth of work experience in the tribe's early construction phase, they have surpassed other Beastmen in their respective Domains.

During the Three Kingdoms period in the Cao Wei forces, most renowned generals were relatives of Cao Cao. Was it because Cao Cao's relatives were natural talents as military leaders, inherently superior at warfare?

No, it was merely because being Cao Cao's relatives granted them more opportunities for leading troops in battle, providing more experience. Familiarity breeds skill.

Lizardman Rodney, Fox-faced Man Quik, and Kobold Vini are similar; their talents are not extraordinary, but their wealth of experience through training makes them excel.

Ratman Bill did not know that perhaps, as the Dragon Nest Tribe develops and management layers diminish, the thought he dared not hope for might one day come true...

As Bill was lost in thought, the Dragon Nest Division had already completed its assembly.

Rodney and Quik stood beside the high platform without further action, occasionally whispering to each other, patiently awaiting the arrival of the great His Highness Austin.

It wasn't long before,

Whoosh!!!

A tremendous airflow appeared out of nowhere, bending the surrounding trees, making rustling noises, and sweeping the fallen leaves away in torrents.

Simultaneously, a massive shadow suddenly filled the sky, crashing down on the high platform with dreadful might.

"My people..."

A deep voice resonated slowly, carrying overwhelming power and oppression. Austin scanned the orderly formation of thousands of Beastman Legion below, his gaze exuding undeniable authority.

Any Beastman who met his eyes felt as if a mountain rested on their shoulders, yet in their hearts, fervent admiration surged, straightening their postures and reddening their faces.

"Become my sharpest long spears, go forth, and fight for me!"

Austin gracefully spread his wings; the gigantic membranes almost obscured the skies, his voice resounding like thunder, shaking every Beastman to their core.

"Oh!"

"Long live His Highness!"

"Fight for His Highness!"

The entire Dragon Nest Legion was collectively awed, the sound waves visibly surging like a tidal wave.

Austin, the creator of the Dragon Nest Tribe, single-handedly provided the Beastmen, who once struggled on the line between life and death, a comfortable living environment, granting them the longed-for life of happiness without fear, without life-and-death struggles, bringing a tectonic shift to their existence.

Simultaneously, from the military training reforms onwards, every Beastman captive was indoctrinated by those fervent believers, supplemented by some techniques Austin learned in his previous life for brainwashing, creating immensely loyal and fervent Beastman Clan members.

It can be said, every Beastman within the Dragon Nest Tribe is an utterly loyal subordinate to Austin, akin to some Divine fanatics.

"Advance, depart!"

Amongst the grand cheers, without saying much more, Austin directly ordered the march.

Before this, Austin had already prepared battle plans, having Rodney and Quik assist in commanding, ensuring all preparations were complete, ready for the military advance.

With Austin giving the order, the Dragon Nest Legion split into the tree division, like a Copper Armor torrent entering the Wet Bone Forest.

Watching as the Beastman Legion started to enter, Austin also took to the air, flying above.

Since the Wet Bone Forest is situated in a basin surrounded by mountains, the accumulated water vapor makes the usual mountain winds hard to penetrate. Coupled with unknown reasons, the entire Wet Bone Forest is shrouded in mist, obscuring vast distances.

Austin had flown high for observation before, but the towering hundreds of meters tall ancient trees and dense fog made it impossible for him to truly see the conditions inside the Wet Bone Forest.

Furthermore, with the fearsome reputation of Wet Bone Forest where no being entering has ever returned alive, Austin decided to deploy a massive army, advancing step by step, chopping down trees blocking the path to approach the core and clear this dangerous area.

Of course, though Wet Bone Forest is perilous, it hasn't triggered a mortal crisis in Austin's Spiritual Sense. Hence, he dared to lead the Dragon Nest Tribe's large forces into the forest directly.

As the Copper Armor torrent of the Dragon Nest Legion moved through the forest lanes, visibility due to the fog was greatly reduced, only showing up to ten meters of surrounding environment.

The forest, appearing unusually quiet, only echoed the clanking footsteps of Copper Armor and the sound of trees being chopped, evoking an eerie feeling.

"That's enough, set camp."

Feeling they had ventured about a hundred meters into the Wet Bone Forest, Austin looked around at the somewhat eerie environment, and commanded with a deep voice from the air.

The vigilant Beastman Legion halted, circled, and upon discovering nothing alarming, commenced to vigorously chop down the surrounding trees, clearing space for a camp base.

This was Austin's step-by-step strategy: never rashly advance until the true enemy is discovered.

Meanwhile, Austin's considerable form descended into the woods, beginning to carefully observe the environment within the Wet Bone Forest.
