Beast Taming: Slaughter Atlas

Chapter 152: Support from the School

The Ghost Shadow Soul really has bad luck; with its strength, it shouldn't have died here.

On the city wall, it didn't use its full power; it was playing around.

Unfortunately, Captain Li's Guardian Beast happened to be a Light Element, and it was seriously injured due to carelessness.

When it entered the sewer, it targeted the wrong opponent and was shattered by a wealthy heiress.

"What should we do next?" Wang Lu approached Chu Chen and asked in a low voice.

Chu Chen pondered for a moment before replying solemnly, "We'll lure the beast horde into the passage and kill them slowly to relieve some of Teacher Sun's pressure."

Chu Chen then explained his tactics to the group.

Following the plan, they soon lured the beast horde into the passage.

Wang Lu and the others were responsible for finishing them off, while also moving the corpses of the Star Beasts.

With their participation, the killing speed increased exponentially.

"Teacher Sun, the number of beasts seems to have decreased," Qian Jiadong pointed at the beast horde and asked seriously.

Sun Ming looked in the direction Qian Jiadong was pointing and noticed the horde had indeed lessened.

After some thought, he seemed to realize something and quickly used his Communication Bracelet to contact Chu Chen.

Upon learning that Chu Chen had diverted some Star Beasts, his expression became tense.

The strength of these Star Beasts was formidable, and in his view, Chu Chen and the rest couldn't possibly handle them.

It was crucial to eliminate these Star Beasts swiftly, or Chu Chen and others would be in danger.

His Guardian Beast was only an Armored Rhinoceros at the late Commander Level. While it could barely hold the beasts at bay with terrain advantage, it could only do so for a moment. If reinforcements were delayed, he would have to retreat.

Suddenly, a screech echoed, and a white light sphere exploded among the beast horde, instantly killing the Star Beasts within its range.

Qian Jiadong and others instantly revealed expressions of joy.

"Teacher, our reinforcements have arrived so quickly."

Sun Ming shook his head and said, "That's not the support I called for. The attack came from within the passage, so it should be the City Defense Army that has arrived. Students, hold on! Once support arrives, we'll be safe."

With these words, everyone immediately felt spirited.

People fear having no hope; once there's hope, they have the drive to persevere.

The one who came to assist was Captain Li. He was particularly anxious, having not spotted any trace of the Ghost Shadow Soul along the way. If it had slipped into the city, the consequences would be unimaginable.

However, the pathway was blocked by the beast horde, so all he could do was lure the beasts into the passage and eliminate them.

Not long after, the second squad of the City Defense Army arrived in succession.

With their help, Captain Li's speed of killing the Star Beasts increased by over fifty percent.

Sun Ming felt a significant reduction in pressure, but his heart was still gripped with concern.

The Armored Rhinoceros was heavily wounded and showing signs of fatigue under the relentless assault of the beast horde.

Sun Ming wasn't sure how long the Armored Rhinoceros could hold out, but he dared not withdraw it into the Soul Sea.

Just then, a bird's cry was heard in the sky, followed by a gale. A massive blue bird descended from above.

On the blue bird rode more than a dozen people, led by Ye Qing, the director of a high school.

Seeing the arrival, Sun Ming was overjoyed and quickly approached, bowing respectfully, "Director, you're here just in time. If it had taken any longer, my Guardian Beast couldn't have held out."

Ye Qing patted Sun Ming's shoulder reassuringly and said, "Teacher Sun, you've done well. Withdraw your Guardian Beast; we'll handle the rest." He then gestured to the teachers behind him.

Seeing this, everyone summoned their Guardian Beasts without hesitation.

The aura emitted by these Guardian Beasts was at the Commander Level, with many reaching the late stages of that level.

To be a teacher at a high school, one needed not only extensive knowledge but also considerable strength.

Of course, as the director, Ye Qing's power was undisputed, or he couldn't command respect.

The blue bird was Ye Qing's Guardian Beast, and its aura was at the Lord Level.

Sun Ming looked at the impressive lineup, his expression filled with pride.

He didn't withdraw the Armored Rhinoceros but let it retreat, opening the way for the beast horde.

Given the rare opportunity to fight alongside school leaders and colleagues, he certainly wouldn't miss it. Moreover, Chu Chen and the others were still waiting for his rescue in the passage, and his fighting spirit was at its peak.

Unbeknownst to him, under Chu Chen's command, Ji Mingyue and the others had already gone berserk.

Behind them, the bodies of Star Beasts were piled high. Within minutes, over a hundred had fallen at their hands, all at the late War General Level or above.

Once again, this highlighted the prowess of the top two in the class.

At this moment, Ji Mingyue felt quite conflicted, being third in the class yet feeling a disconnect between rank and ability.

As the treasured pearl of one of the three great families, neither her aptitude nor family background could be compared to Chu Chen, but his Realm and strength had outdistanced her significantly, leaving her puzzled.

Now the beast horde surged like a tide towards the sewer exit, their anger stoked by the filthy environment and pungent stench inside.

Only slaughter could satisfy their rage.

But while idealistic, reality was cruel.

Just as they charged out of the sewer, they were met with a deluge of Skills from above.

The most powerful Skill was unleashed by Ye Qing's Wind Element Guardian Beast, a massive tornado two zhang wide.

It became a meat grinder as it descended on the horde, turning the area into a scene of purgatory, with anguished howls endless, and any Star Beast caught within would be flayed within a breath, and dismembered within two, as if by death by a thousand cuts.

The towering tornado had enormous suction, pulling in anything that approached.

The battle ended swiftly. In just a quarter hour, the beast horde was completely annihilated.

Captain Li led his subordinates out of the passage. He looked at the littered corpses and then at the teachers, cupping his hands, "This was our failure to guard the city, letting the beast horde rush in. I'm Li Lang, Captain of the first squad of the City Defense Army, call upon me if you need any support in the future."

Ye Qing smiled warmly and introduced himself, exchanging pleasantries.

After some conversation, Li Lang asked, "Have you encountered a particularly powerful Undead Star Beast?"

Everyone exchanged glances before shaking their heads, indicating they hadn't.

Li Lang frowned, pondering where the Ghost Shadow Soul might be. Could it have escaped outside the city?

Sun Ming suddenly seemed to think of something, his expression turning grim.

"Oh no, Chu Chen and the others are still in the passage. Could they encounter that Star Beast?"

Everyone's expressions changed, with Ye Qing anxiously urging, "Quick, use the Communication Bracelet to get in touch!"

Sun Ming, not daring to delay, immediately prepared to use the Communication Bracelet to inquire.

At that moment, an excited voice echoed from the sewer.

"Teacher, we're out!"

Everyone turned to see Wang Lu, with Chu Chen and the students behind him.
