The Last King Of Darkness

Chapter 620: My Angel Envoy_2

"You're very clever, young Rod. Some of these tedious theories are beyond the understanding of even the Fire Sons."

Jelaba chuckled, "Peibela, don't reveal our old secrets like that, the younger generation is losing respect for us."

Qingyu blinked, "Even though I don't understand, it seems pretty impressive."

Horus's face immediately fell, berating, "How can you become the king of Trolian like this? Rod might be lazy, but at least he's making an effort!"

Qingyu smiled, "Uncle Horus, a king doesn't need to know these things, as long as the people the king uses understand them."

This remark struck a nerve with the Archbishop, and for the next half-hour, there was only the sound of him scolding Qingyu.

And yet, no one was affected. They continued their journey, preparing for battle, including Qingyu.

"How much supplies did we bring?" Liszt asked.

Rod briefly recounted the supplies he carried, leaving everyone astonished.

The Red Queen glared at him, "Is your container surprisingly this large?"

Jelaba laughed heartily, patting his shoulder, "As expected of you, young Rod. Besides Alan, few people surprise me as much you do."

A high-ranking investigator next to Liszt exclaimed in shock, "I can't believe it! I'm also a Space Attribute holder. Though my attribute is only Seventh Level, theoretically, it shouldn't be smaller than a Fire Spark space. But in reality, I can only fit less than one-thousandth of your supplies. Oh, right, I'm Number 23, the only Space Attribute holder in the Investigation Legion. Pleased to meet you, incredible Space God."

Number 23's words made everyone laugh. Qingyu blinked, "Rod wouldn't happen to be a reincarnation of the Space God's Soul Fragment or will, would he?"

Peibela mused, "It's possible. This space ability is too powerful to believe."

Horus, however, disagreed, "Impossible. I've never heard of a Space God; even if there once was one and a part of its soul fragments merged with Rod's soul, it wouldn't produce such a Fire Spark."

Rod interrupted, a bit displeased, "Stop chatting, prepare for battle. Saint Reel might be in trouble. If we can help them soon, it will be good for Trolian and for all humanity."

These words suddenly awakened everyone.

Given the current situation, Saint Reel indeed might be in trouble. Their warriors were attacked by unidentified monsters deep in the darkness away from Saint Reel, with the entire army annihilated.

This is no small matter for any Human Kingdom.

If this happened in Trolian, prompt action would be taken immediately. The Royal City would soon dispatch a more powerful combat group to handle the situation, slay the monsters, and recover the warriors' remains.

But Saint Reel seems to have had no response, which suggests two possibilities.

The first is that this event just occurred, and they still have time to respond.

The second is that Saint Reel suffered a disaster similar to the Black Tide, making it temporarily impossible to allocate more forces to address the issue.

Regardless of which possibility, their arrival is a huge boon for Saint Reel. Handling this well could lay a great foundation for the interactions between two human cultures.

Excitement filled everyone's hearts, Horus ceased his rambling and spread his arms, releasing a bright white light that gathered on everyone's body.

"This is the Bright Light Blessing. It can significantly resist curses, infections, and corruption... Everyone, fight with all your might. My Bright Light Attribute is already very close to the Source. Rod has brought all the medical gear. I can complete all the Soul Techniques here, so don't worry about injuries."

Jelaba lifted a large hammer, Spiritual Energy exceeding Level 15 manifested on his body, "I will lead the charge. My Stone Source Law has touched the edge of a Strong Source. When I unleash my power, no monster can surpass my mighty hammer."

Peibela raised her hands, fingertips glowing with Spiritual Light, her form becoming indistinct like a phantom, "The blade of time will cut through everything."

The Red Queen lightly pinched a long needle, laughing softly, "I completely agree with Peibela. There's nothing in this world that can stop the power of time."

Qingyu's whole body surged with flames, the brilliant fire swinging on her figure, powerful fire aura spreading, making the place a paradise of flames.

"All power comes with a price. All exchanges are equal. There is no rootless source; apparent generosity is marked with a price in the shadows... Even a monster can't endlessly resurrect. Its source must be within the fortress. As long as we destroy the fortress, all the flesh will disperse."

"So, our strategy is to launch a strong attack on the fortress."

Qingyu raised her right hand, everyone shouted in unison.

"For Trolian, for humanity!"

Rod glanced at her in surprise, seeing this side of Qingyu for the first time, a leadership-like charisma.

"Maybe we've underestimated her," Rod thought, "Jon might not be more suitable than her to be the king."

With morale boiling over, no more words were needed, and they headed straight for the only canyon in the mountains.

Only when they got closer did Rod realize that what looked like a narrow crack from afar was, up close, a chasm gaping like an abyss.

It was at least three thousand yards wide, an unfathomable black depth, and a massive fortress stood before the fissure, with thick black fog swirling around it, sending a peculiar, evil feeling to their minds.
