The Last King Of Darkness

Chapter 560: The End of Malice (Part 2)

"Last time, you managed to escape, but this time, you won't get away. I'm going to devour you!"

He lunged madly and took a bite out of the ground.

Crunch!

A strange noise echoed as Asa's entire mouth split open. Even with the strength of Strong Wind's Phantom, it couldn't withstand the bite.

Yet the ground remained untouched, without any damage.

"Hahahaha!"

Amon's piercing mad laughter filled the air.

"Foolish traitor, Asa, after all these years you're still as foolish and unchanging as humankind itself. You can sense me, but surely I can sense you too? You acknowledge my existence, yet I don't know of yours?"

The phantom soon repaired the damage on its own, but Asa's gloomy expression couldn't be hidden by even a yellow hue of excrement.

"What did you do?"

Amon sneered, "Do you think I would tell you?"

A dense black fog surged from all directions, imprisoning Asa just like the others.

"In one-fifth of a quarter hour, your doomsday will arrive."

"And I will become the founder of a new epoch!"

Merriment echoed within the conscious link of the ancient evil thought, while the outside remained still in darkness.

The link with spiritual energy, capable of penetrating even the abyss, gradually dimmed. Rod's Fire Crown at his collar flickered, struggling to restore the connection.

Rod knew things were getting dire. Under his Eye of the Soul's vision, everyone was trapped in the suffocating darkness, as if frozen in amber, while the space continued to coil and compress against them.

"Asa!"

Rod shouted, "Is there no other way?"

Asa's voice rang in his mind, sounding rather anxious.

"That insidious, despicable scoundrel, I understand why he chose to devour Ash Lake. The ashes are remnants of the fire, the purest of dead matter, absolute non-flammable waste blanketing the surface of the abyss, forming a barrier that shields his core. I can't reach his true form!"

Rod anxiously asked, "What can we do?"

Asa shouted, "Master, the only way is for your strongest servant to slice open this layer of skin—just a single opening will expose his core, and then I can latch onto it!"

Rod hesitated, then realized Asa meant the seven Commanders and Trolian's Special Level Combatants: "Understood!"

Due to the link with the ancient evil thought, Amon also heard Asa's voice, laughing mockingly: "Useless! No one can cut open the abyss's space, especially after I've fortified it... Your efforts are doomed to failure. In one-sixth of a quarter hour, your life and soul will come to an end! Hahahaha!"

Rod ignored his words, immediately trying to connect with Olivia and others, but the spiritual energy link kept breaking, with no stability.

Faced with such odds, Rod did not hesitate to produce a piece of "Colorful Dreams."

The previous four pieces were already used up; this was one he recently crafted.

His gaze fixed on the Fire Crown at his collar as he clenched his fingers, crushing the "Colorful Dreams," dispersing countless colorful specks into the air.

In just one second, the Fire Crown stabilized, no longer flickering.

The spiritual energy link was restored, and Rod immediately heard several exclamations.

"The spiritual energy link is back!"

"What happened?"

"This is the power of the entire abyss fragment! Do not resist stubbornly!"

"We'll be crushed if we keep this up!"

"Resisting will only bring quicker death..."

"Everyone!"

Rod shouted, interrupting them.

"Silence. Listen to me, I have a plan..."

The spiritual energy link immediately quieted down.

Rod quickly said, "I have a plan to deal with Amon, but I need to cut open the space!"

"Cut open the space?" Luo Weiya exclaimed, "No, it's impossible! I just tried—this space is extremely solid, with some unique protection. We can't do it..."

Whoosh!

A sword aura cut through the air, slicing open the vast darkness and carving a long gash across the ground, stopping in front of Rod.

And before him stood Asa!

"Young Rod."

From afar, a gentle voice called.

"Will this work?"

Amon's laughter ceased abruptly in consciousness, replaced by disbelief.

"What? How can this be? You don't have a single powerful king among you, so what right do you have?"

Rod gazed at the space nearly cut in two, the sinking depression marking the crack within the space.

The abyss's space was cleaved open!

"It'll work!"

Rod cried out in joy.

"This will definitely work, Sir Alan!"

"Asa, hurry, go!"

Space was frantically trembling as Amon struggled to repair the wound.

But it was already too late—a cry from Asa as he leaped forward, freezing the entire phantom's form upon contact with the spatial crack.

Simultaneously, space underwent an indescribable tremor.

The battle between the ancient evil thoughts resumed.

Amon shouted in shock and fury, "Are you crazy, Asa!"

Asa sneered, "I'm not crazy, you are! You've forgotten what you are, but I haven't. Even if I become the king of devouring excrement, I'm still an ancient evil thought!"

Amon roared angrily, "Stop, halt! You're walking a path of self-destruction! Don't heed that human's lies! If you devour me, you'll be useless!"

"Hahahaha!"

Asa's laughter brimmed with pride and arrogance.

"So foolish, so foolish, the wicked Amon of Source's Evil, even you have moments of such stupidity? Did you think I didn't understand this truth? That's why I want to become the king of devouring excrement. No one can refuse a servant who can control the sewer! Whoever dares defy the supreme master, I'll block their sewer! Let them hold their excrement!"

"Crazy!" Amon shouted furiously, "You've lost your mind! You've forgotten our instinct! The Supreme Will will deliver punishment!"

Asa chuckled coldly, "Ignorant fool, you're still clinging to that outdated illusion? The Supreme Will has long fallen, its corpse eroded into a monster, now wandering somewhere unknown."

"Isn't this further proof of the black fog's supremacy?"

"A fool unworthy of loyalty if he can't ensure his own existence? What benefits can he offer me? This mind-control chain? Oh, I've already dismantled it!"

"Die, Amon! Become my meal! Let me ascend the supreme ladder, my first bite!"

Amon shrieked, "You won't necessarily win! You won't necessarily win! I want to devour you! I want to devour you!"

The two ancient evil thoughts fell silent, engaging in a full-on struggle.

Initially, Asa was at a disadvantage, but Rod quickly understood that if Amon absorbed the abyss, then attacking the abyss would surely aid Asa.

He promptly called upon everyone to strike against the abyss.

Rod had earned significant trust at this moment, and even if he didn't provide a detailed explanation, everyone complied without hesitation.

The radiance of spiritual energy instantly engulfed the area.

Alan's destructive power against space was the greatest,

with his Holy White Great Sword, a single thrust could slice through a long spatial rift.

The effect of the "Spirit Tide" hadn't dissipated; they could still unleash spiritual energy freely.

Luo Weiya laughed heartily, "Of course, that's you, Alan, why didn't you use it earlier?"

Alan smiled, replying, "Naturally, it must wait until a crucial moment."

This remark made Luo Weiya's face split with joy, for praising Rod was his theoretical core—every acknowledgment from a strong entity made him extremely happy.

Under continuous bombardment, Asa gradually gained the upper hand.

The abyss emitted terrifying wails as space shook, and the ground trembled.

Amon alternately cursed and begged, yet Asa remained unmoved.

In the end, amid furious curses and wails, this immensely powerful ancient evil thought was devoured by Asa.

He once orchestrated countless tragedies, plotted and murdered untold numbers of powerful beings, incited innumerable civil strife among humans, and caused the death of the previous Master of Dreams and the downfall of the Starry Kingdom.

Asa once regarded him as the mightiest of the ancient evil thoughts, with the title of Evil Ghost of Source.

He was Amon, the first bite of the future king of devouring excrement.

Asa declared.

Rod confirmed.
