At first, there was no change in the surroundings. The starry sky-like ceiling remained, and the walls on both sides glowed with a soft white light. The sea of fog beneath their feet stayed the same. However, as the group moved deeper inside, the starry sky above remained unchanged, but the light on the walls gradually shifted from white to a faint blue, pure as the sea. If you closed your eyes, you could almost hear the sound of the sea. The fog beneath their feet remained unchanged.
This change was something Old Tian and his group had never seen before. Old Tian gestured for the group to be cautious and then whispered to Yi Tian, "Be careful, we've never encountered such a change before."
The sound of rushing water echoed in their ears as they walked, filled with a crisp vitality that made them feel as if they were by the seaside. It seemed as though they could smell the faint, salty scent of seawater and hear the calls of sea birds. If they closed their eyes to feel, it was entirely like being by the sea.
Faced with this sudden change, Old Tian's group dared not lower their guard, a serious expression appeared on their faces. Even Luo, who usually wore a playful smile, put aside his irreverent attitude. The four formed a subtle circle around Yi Tian to protect him. In their view, these changes were caused by Yi Tian's entry, making his protection their top priority. After all, Yi Tian might be key to unbinding the Ruined City.
As they continued, the sounds of rushing water, seabird calls, and the smell of seawater persisted without much change. At least, that's how it felt to Old Tian and his group. However, Yi Tian, being protected by the four, had a different experience. He realized this was a world of water, a world purely composed of water, like a Virtual Realm made entirely of water.
If at first Yi Tian had doubts about whether this was a Virtual Realm, now he was entirely sure it was indeed a Virtual Realm, a water Virtual Realm. The creator of this Virtual Realm had mastered Water Element Energy to such an extent that they could create a Virtual Realm with a single type of energy. This Virtual Realm, much like Tang Mu's wind-created Virtual Realm, was crafted with pure energy, leading to transformation.
Yi Tian hadn't expected the Ruined City to be part of a Virtual Realm created by an Ancient Cultivator. For some unknown reason, a small part of this Virtual Realm had connected entirely to the real world, and the Ruined City was that connection to reality. As for the force that trapped the Ruined City, Yi Tian couldn't comprehend where it came from. No Virtual Realm creator would let someone else bind their world, nor could anyone bind another's Virtual Realm.
With each step inside, Yi Tian grew more alarmed. Though so far he had walked only through a tunnel, the minor changes within it did not escape his keen eye. Perhaps due to Yi Tian's cultivation system, or perhaps because he was an outsider, he could clearly sense all the changes around him, no matter how slight.
At first, the walls on both sides emitted a faint blue glow, with that same faint blue glow flowing through the delicate patterns on them. But as the group moved deeper, the blue glow began to surge, causing even the front walls to lightly ripple, like sea waves. Amidst this blue glow, Yi Tian saw shadows of fish, blurry yet unmistakably fish swimming in the water.
Apart from the changes on the walls, the starry sky above also changed. Initially, it appeared a black wall dotted with silver spots, but upon closer look, the arrangement of those silver spots had shifted subtly, much like how the position of stars changed relative after moving in the real world.
Though these changes were subtle, they didn't evoke any sense of danger for Yi Tian. The overwhelming force didn't exude any threat, so Yi Tian continued forward.
As he walked further, the changes became more apparent, with the passage widening, the sound of the sea growing louder, and the fog beneath their feet gradually dissipating to reveal a blue surface underneath. The ground too shimmered with a faint blue, surging like sea water, with the five feeling the gentle swell beneath them as if standing on the ocean waves.
The strange changes in the passage made the five pause. They didn't know whether the changes were good or bad, but as soon as they stopped, their surroundings began to expand outwards, and the once present walls suddenly vanished. The only unchanged thing was the blue, sea-like surface beneath their feet.
Looking around, it seemed as if the passage had been transported to another place, turning into a complete sea. Above them shimmered a starry night sky, stretching to where water met sky in the distance. Besides that, nothing else existed. Occasionally, a fish or two leaped from the water, only to dive back in with a splash. It was startlingly real.
"What's happening here?" Old Tian glanced at the unfamiliar environment. Though he had visited many times, never had he seen such an occurrence. Instinctively, he thought this change was related to Yi Tian, but why just Yi Tian?
"Looks like we've triggered something here." Yi Tian said calmly. He knew it was due to his presence that the surroundings experienced such profound changes. As a fellow Ancient Cultivator, Yi Tian had inherited ancient knowledge, naturally exuding an aura unique to Ancient Cultivators. It was precisely this aura that triggered certain Prohibitions, revealing the true face of the passage.
Old Tian and the others felt uneasy; the changes were indeed too bizarre, utilizing methods unfamiliar to them, making it difficult to feel at ease. Yet Yi Tian stood on the water as if unperturbed, his body gently swaying with the waves.
"Is there something here?" Yi Tian recalled what Luo had said earlier. If it were a Virtual Realm, there should be someone here. The creator of a Virtual Realm is typically Immortal, unless extremely unlucky, and generally still alive, like the old man of the Virtual Realm. But now, he hadn't seen the owner of this Virtual Realm.
"There's someone." Luo knew Yi Tian was asking him. With a glance at Yi Tian, he answered. Seeing Yi Tian's relaxed demeanor nearly made him shout. Was this guy dense? The environment around them had undergone drastic changes, yet he remained smiling.
"How do we find that person?" In a Virtual Realm, it's only useful to locate the owner. Otherwise, if the owner wishes to trap you for years, it wouldn't be difficult at all.
"Previously, walking along the passage would lead to them. But now…" Luo looked around at the blue surroundings; there was no passage left, much less a way to find that person.
"I'll lead the way then." The overwhelming force still hadn't faded, and the direction from which it came was extremely clear. Yi Tian intuitively felt that direction was where the owner of this Virtual Realm was. He just wondered why the owner hadn't appeared yet. Did they not fear that the place might be dismantled by them?
Yi Tian gracefully walked on the water, creating ripples with each step that spread out, beautifully circling under the faint blue glow. Seeing Yi Tian move forward, Old Tian and the others hurriedly followed. The five walked on the sea, uncertain how far or long they traveled, but the surrounding landscape hadn't changed significantly, still filled with only water, as Yi Tian continued to walk forward.
Just as Old Tian was about to tell Yi Tian to stop, a sphere of blue-white light appeared before them. Inside the sphere was a transparent Crystal Coffin, emitting a mysterious oppressing force.
