Urban Soldier Young Master

Chapter 81: Just a Neighbor

When Chu Ge's voice came from behind, Chu Shiyao was suddenly stunned. She turned around involuntarily, blinking blankly, and instinctively responded, "Huh?"

"Huh what? I told you to buy more groceries tonight so you can really see my cooking skills." Chu Ge maintained his amusing expression and said casually.

"Oh."

Responding dumbfoundedly, Chu Shiyao secretly glanced at Feifei's expression again. Seeing no obvious change in her demeanor, she turned around with a belly full of doubts and hesitantly moved forward.

"Alright, let's go too."

Having arranged for Chu Shiyao to buy groceries in the evening, Chu Ge turned his head and spoke to Feifei, then also started walking.

If just a moment ago these few men had classified Chu Ge as exceptional, at this moment, watching Chu Ge's composed steps and the obedient-looking Feifei behind him, they were completely bewildered.

What the hell! This guy is simply a legend!

A man who had been sitting next to Chu Ge stood up and followed in his footsteps, not for anything else, but just to see if there was a chance to ask Chu Ge for advice, to learn if he had any tips on picking up girls.

Unfortunately, even after getting into the elevator with Chu Ge and then going downstairs, he never found an opportunity to speak with Chu Ge alone. Following that, he witnessed a scene that made him nearly bow in admiration.

Under his dumbfounded gaze, Diao Qiuling helped Chu Ge and Feifei get a taxi and paid the fare in advance. Only after the taxi left did she, looking pained, head towards the bus stop.

In the taxi, Chu Ge sat in the front passenger seat, and Feifei sat in the back.

"Vice Minister Chu, thank you so much today. Having a leader like you makes me feel so happy." Now finally alone with Chu Ge and looking at his masculine profile, Feifei said sincerely.

"Saying that makes us feel like strangers. Don't overthink it. No matter who this happened to today, I would have done the same." Chu Ge smiled and said casually.

Chu Ge believed that with Feifei's intelligence, combined with what he just said to Chu Shiyao and his response now, she could understand his subtext.

As soon as Chu Ge said this, Feifei did not disappoint him. She immediately laughed and said, "Vice Minister Chu, I understand. Don't take to heart what I said in jest last night. You know I'm straightforward and sometimes speak without thinking, blurting out nonsense."

Chu Ge glanced back at Feifei, seeing her clear and candid gaze, he sighed inwardly with relief.

The two exchanged a smile, ending the topic there. They were both smart, and everything was understood without words.

"By the way, Vice Minister Chu, was that pretty young nurse really just your neighbor, nothing more?" Feifei, the type who couldn't keep quiet, asked gossipingly, managing to stay silent for less than a minute.

It was only because the person beside her was Chu Ge that she dared to ask such a question. Were it any other leader, she would have held her tongue, no matter how curious. After all, trying to find another leader like Chu Ge in the entire Lidu City would be difficult.

Chu Ge nodded, "Yes, just a neighbor, that's all."

Recalling Chu Shiyao's appearance, Feifei remarked regretfully for Chu Ge's sake, "That young nurse is really beautiful, and her figure is top-notch. I used to think I had a good figure, but compared to her, I'm completely outclassed. Don't you have any other thoughts?"

Chu Ge laughed heartily, "Of course, I do. For such a beautiful woman that even you find stunning, if I say I have no thoughts at all, would you believe me?"

"Then why don't you try pursuing her? I don't think you have a girlfriend, right?"

"It's true I don't have a girlfriend, but I don't have those kinds of thoughts towards her."

Hearing Chu Ge say this, Feifei couldn't help but curiously press on, "Vice Minister Chu, aren't your standards too high? You weren't attracted to Xiaoran, who is gentle and shy, and now you don't fancy this angel-faced, devilishly figured top-notch nurse. What kind of person are you looking for?"

Chu Ge smiled knowingly, without answering Feifei's question, as the face of a girl appeared in his mind.

Even though many years had passed, her voice and smile remained vividly clear in Chu Ge's mind.

Seeing that Chu Ge didn't want to talk about it, Feifei skilfully refrained from asking further and casually changed the topic. Before long, the taxi arrived at their destination.

As Chu Ge stepped into the office, he saw Ji Songtao standing in the center with an unusually solemn expression, and every administrative assistant in the room was serious, without a trace of sleepiness.

Greeting Ji Songtao, Chu Ge and Feifei returned to their respective seats.

"Vice Minister Chu, Feifei, you're back just in time. I just received a notice. There's a task assigned directly by the chairman that requires our Operation Management Department to complete."

Hearing what Ji Songtao said, everyone's expressions became more serious. After all, something assigned directly by the chairman is a big deal, even if it appears small, and doing it well could mean another chance for the department to shine in front of the chairman. But if done poorly, unknown consequences might arise, which nobody wanted to see.

Chu Ge was also surprised. He knew that Tianjiao Group was not just limited to Tianjiao Film and Television; there were also businesses in clothing, dining, and electronic products. However, in his impression, Qin Ruojing had only ever talked to him about matters related to Tianjiao Film and Television.

Moreover, Qin Ruojing, being the chairman of a conglomerate company, had twice lowered her stance to invite someone she doesn't particularly like, Zhou Zhigao, for a meal.

It seemed Qin Ruojing was unusually invested in Tianjiao Film and Television.

While pondering this matter, Ji Songtao paused for a few seconds. Seeing everyone highly focused, he raised a USB stick in his right hand and continued solemnly, "This USB contains the script for a movie that Tianjiao Film and Television is preparing to shoot. The chairman requires us to input and print the script."

Hearing this, several employees were perplexed. Is this really a task? The script is in the USB; why not just print it directly? Is there a need to make such a big deal out of it?

Though they were puzzled, in this atmosphere, no one spoke, waiting quietly for Ji Songtao to continue.

"The movie script has been divided into seven parts by the chairman herself, so besides me and Vice Minister Chu, each of you here will be responsible for a part. However, before that, I need everyone to turn off their phones, cameras, and any equipment capable of making calls, taking photos, or videos, then hand them over."

Ji Songtao's voice grew more serious as he led by example, turning off his phone and placing it on an empty desk. Seeing everyone slightly stunned, he added, "I must emphasize that this task involves high-level commercial confidentiality. It's not that the chairman or the company doesn't trust everyone here, but to minimize potential trouble, your cooperation is needed."

Even though it seemed to Chu Ge that Qin Ruojing's actions were unnecessary, as soon as Ji Songtao finished, he stood up, took out his phone, turned it off, and placed it beside Ji Songtao's phone.

With both ministers doing the same, the others had nothing more to say and stood up one after another, turning off their phones and cameras, and handed them over together.

Glancing at the pile of phones on the desk, Ji Songtao still didn't immediately arrange for the task. Instead, he repeated his inquiry twice, his gaze scanning each desk to ensure nothing was overlooked that should be handed in before he walked over to a girl's computer and inserted the USB into the tower.

"Copy out the folder with your name on it and do not touch any other files."

Under Ji Songtao's stern, even slightly severe tone, the first girl followed his instructions.

Once the first girl copied the folder with her name, Ji Songtao promptly removed the USB from the tower and moved to the next girl, inserting the USB again.

The same instructions and same procedures followed until Ji Songtao made a complete round of the office, watching as everyone obediently copied out only their respective folders. Then, he finally asked everyone to open their copied folders.

Once everyone opened their folders, they finally understood why this task required such a careful approach. What lay within were not simple text documents but photographs.

On each photograph were pages of paper filled with neat handwriting in pen, which evidently comprised parts of the movie script.

However, as each person opened a few photos, it became apparent that the script segments couldn't be connected, as they were obviously deliberately jumbled.

"Alright, begin typing. Vice Minister Chu and I will be here, waiting for everyone to complete the task. During the entire process, I do not want to hear any sound other than typing, nor see any action unrelated to the task at hand. Otherwise, you will be directly dismissed."

Seeing that Ji Songtao wasn't joking, everyone realized the gravity of the task. No one spoke, meeting Ji Songtao's serious gaze, and nodded.

Chu Ge stood up and went to stand beside Ji Songtao, watching as each colleague focused intently on their work, finding it somewhat amusing.

This setup resembled a final exam in school, and he and Ji Songtao were akin to invigilators.
