Urban Soldier Young Master

Chapter 716: How Could It Be Her?

"I'm at No. 125 Qingchuan Road, Room 306, West Forest Hotel."

After sending this text message to Mu Lingshan, Chu Ge thought he would feel conflicted, but instead, he let out a long sigh of relief, feeling inexplicably much lighter, and the corners of his mouth involuntarily curved upwards.

He originally wanted to send a text or make a call to Qin Ruojing too, but he felt it was a bit weird. After all, he had just told another woman the room number of his hotel, even though he didn't have any ulterior motives at that moment.

Besides, Qin Ruojing hadn't mentioned calling him yet, so she probably trusted him a lot. Chu Ge decided to just turn off his phone and closed his eyes to prepare for sleep.

If Mu Lingshan came, he would have a good chat with her. Yes, he just wanted to simply chat, listen to her stories from childhood until she became a police officer. Over the years, he was really curious about what kind of environment shaped Mu Lingshan's determination, approaching stubbornness.

Sometimes, Chu Ge thought Mu Lingshan was quite naive, but other times, he admired her.

For someone to persist in doing something for one day, that's not called persistence, it might just be a whim. Persisting for a month can be considered quite rare, but day after day, year after year, that's undoubtedly remarkable.

After all, as time passes, everything can change. It's like many people fantasize about some things related to their future when they were young, but as they grow up, many might forget what their dreams used to be.

Some might even find their past persistence ridiculous.

Thinking this way, Chu Ge glanced at the direction of the door. If Mu Lingshan didn't come, that was okay too.

Anyway, just let nature take its course.

Meanwhile, in a moving taxi, Mu Lingshan and Huang Yourong were leaning drunkenly on the back seats, heading back to the hotel.

Huang Yourong was still relatively sober, while Mu Lingshan had already fallen asleep.

"Ding ding"

A text message alert rang out, and Huang Yourong patted Mu Lingshan, slurring, "Shanshan, your... your phone's ringing."

Mu Lingshan didn't respond, not even lifting an eyelid, still sound asleep. She had indeed drunk a bit too much after Chu Ge left.

Seeing that Mu Lingshan wasn't responding, Huang Yourong didn't take it seriously and continued gazing out the car window, her mind still reminiscing about Chu Ge's appearance.

This man... I'll definitely get close to him, sigh, I just don't know when the opportunity will arise...

Just as Huang Yourong was feeling somewhat helpless, the taxi suddenly bumped over a small pothole, causing the car to jolt. Lost in thought, she was startled as her body lifted off the seat.

Frowning, Huang Yourong was about to snap at the driver when she suddenly heard a "thud" sound. She saw Mu Lingshan's phone slip out of her bag and fall at her feet, the screen still lit up with a message alert.

"That bastard Chu..."

She had just glimpsed these words when the screen went dark, but her eyes lit up. She was sure, based on those words, that the text was from Chu Ge.

Filled with excitement and delight, Huang Yourong hurriedly bent down to pick up the phone at her feet but didn't pick it up immediately. Instead, she touched the power button to light up the screen again.

That bastard Chu Ge: "I'm at No. 125 Qingchuan Road, Room 306, West Forest Hotel."

As this line fully came into view, Huang Yourong's eyes shined even brighter. Just a few seconds ago, she was worried about how to get closer to Chu Ge, and now she'd stumbled upon such a text.

This short line, to her, was nothing short of a perfectly timed lifesaver.

Letting out a breath, Huang Yourong glanced at Mu Lingshan to confirm she was still sound asleep, then gently placed the phone back in her bag, contentedly burping with a smile, leaning back on the seat.

If she didn't have to take Mu Lingshan back, she would've asked the driver to turn around and head straight to the West Forest Hotel right away.

A few minutes later, Huang Yourong escorted Mu Lingshan back to the hotel room. She helped her take off her shoes, assisted her to bed, and tucked her in with a smirk of satisfaction before turning and immediately leaving the room.

Despite feeling slightly carsick and somewhat tipsy, she was resolute in stepping out, hailing another taxi, and heading directly to the address she had memorized with ease.

Not long after, the taxi stopped at the bottom of the West Forest Hotel. Getting out of the car made Huang Yourong feel even dizzier, everything seemed to spin around her, nearly causing her to throw up. Yet, even under such circumstances, her excitement was palpable, or rather, she was extremely excited.

As one of the few women in this phase of party school studies, Huang Yourong thought that with her eloquence and allure, she would surely become the center of attention for many men, allowing her to expand her network while enjoying the admiring and envious glances.

Although she indeed achieved that, she was annoyed to discover that Mu Lingshan, who came from Lidu, was even more dazzling. If her appeal to those men was a seven, then Mu Lingshan's was at least a nine.

Therefore, Huang Yourong was jealous of Mu Lingshan, very jealous, deep down to her core.

But Huang Yourong was a social butterfly, naturally adopting the jealousy approach of a socialite. Her strategy was to get close to Mu Lingshan, look after her like an older sister.

For instance, she would greet Mu Lingshan with a bright smile, or often dine with her, even if when they walked together, she was just the green leaf beside the flower.

After all, green leaves have their own advantages. When bees and butterflies fly toward the flower, they would first approach the green leaf, which was perfectly aligned with her initial intention of expanding her network, yielding no harm and all benefits.

In fact, that was indeed the case. During this time at the party school, thanks to Mu Lingshan, she gained a lot.

However, whether she could benefit from Mu Lingshan was one thing, and whether she was jealous of Mu Lingshan was another. Even if, in a sense, Mu Lingshan had been a great help, her jealousy towards Mu Lingshan had only increased, growing day by day.

So when she found out that the man she was interested in at first sight turned out to be Mu Lingshan's boyfriend, along with the thoughts that immediately followed, how could she not feel excited and thrilled?

If she could snatch that man, regardless of anything else, it would undeniably bring her a great sense of mental satisfaction.

Aren't you younger and prettier than me, more popular than me?

If something happened between your man and me, hahaha...

If your man fell for me, hahahaha...

That's something exciting just to think about!

Perhaps most people think that when a man and a woman get involved, it's the man taking advantage of the woman, and many times even if the man feels victimized in this aspect, the law gives no recourse, but Huang Yourong didn't think so at all.

Are you kidding me? Who says a woman can't take advantage of a man in such matters?

"Tap, tap, tap..."

Reeking of alcohol, Huang Yourong dragged her swaying body into the West Forest Hotel. In a dizzy spell of feeling heavy-headed and light-footed, she got on the elevator and stumbled to the door of room 306. She smoothed her hair in front of her forehead, looked at the swirling revolving room number in her sight, took a deep breath, and licked her lips.

"Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock"

"Knock, knock"

"Knock"

Five times, two times, once. Huang Yourong knocked on the room door in a 5-2-1 rhythm. She thought using this way to greet was rather romantic. No man doesn't like a romantic woman; this should be the beautiful beginning of a beautiful night.

The only regret for Huang Yourong was that she had indeed drunk too much wine just now. The dizziness grew stronger, and she even needed to support herself against the wall to avoid collapsing weakly to the ground.

Conscious, delirious, yet a bit blurry—the feeling only those who've drunk too much could understand.

Damn it…my eyelids are so heavy and annoying, they're getting heavier, like two mountains...

Chu Ge was already asleep by this time, but his senses were originally very keen. Plus, he still had stuff on his mind, so his sleep wasn't particularly deep.

When the "tap, tap" of high heels echoed in the hallway outside the door, he was semi-conscious, and when the room door was knocked on, he immediately opened his eyes.

Hmm…is it Mu Lingshan?

Chu Ge sat up from the bed and then pinched his brow with a smile. Isn't it obvious? Who else but that Tiger Girl?

Chu Ge felt a bit hesitant, looking at the door that was knocked on with a 5-2-1 rhythm, unsure whether he should pretend not to hear or go over and open the door.

After hesitating for over a minute, Chu Ge sighed inexplicably and lay back on the bed.

However, the moment his head hit the pillow, a scene flashed in his mind—a scene of Mu Lingshan standing outside the door of the apartment he rented, sleeping, leaning against the wall.

A second passed, two seconds passed... Another ten or so seconds passed, each second felt so long.

Chu Ge threw aside the quilt, leapt up, and strode over to the door that had become quiet after being knocked on in the 5-2-1 rhythm.

To hell with it, there aren't so many rights or wrongs in this world!

Chu Ge didn't want to think about anything now. He only knew that if he let Mu Lingshan sleep at the door again, if he let Mu Lingshan leave disappointed, he damn well was a bastard.

Reaching the door, Chu Ge took a hurried deep breath and quickly opened the room door.

With a "click", the door opened, and before Chu Ge could see the scene at the doorway clearly, a gust of alcohol wafted towards him, followed by a "thud" as a wobbling figure slapped a hand against the wall on the doorframe, barely avoiding a fall.

"Hmm..."

A muddled voice reached Chu Ge's ears, and he was momentarily stunned.

Then Chu Ge clearly saw the woman's face in front of him, and his eyes instantly widened, his brows furrowing.

How... could it be her?

Huang Yourong?
