Urban Soldier Young Master

Chapter 705: Go to Xiaoying's Place to Eat (Part 2)

While Chu Ge went out to buy groceries, the Qin sisters changed their shoes and entered the house. Qin Ruojing casually glanced around the apartment Qin Ruoying was renting and suddenly asked an unexpected question.

"Earlier... how did you feel?"

Even though Qin Ruojing's voice was low and her tone casual, when Qin Ruoying heard this question, her body instinctively tensed.

It felt as if she had suddenly been struck by a bolt of lightning. Looking at Qin Ruojing, who had her back to her, Qin Ruoying felt her heart pounding like a deer, her mind going completely blank.

In the midst of this blankness, many images surfaced, finally settling on the scene from just a few minutes ago, when she and Chu Ge nearly touched lips right under Qin Ruojing's nose.

Qin Ruoying stood there dumbfounded, really unsure of how to answer the question.

A few seconds passed like this, and Qin Ruojing turned around with a calm and elegant smile, along with a trace of something Qin Ruoying couldn't discern—even if she could, she wouldn't understand it—mischief.

Usually, this kind of mischievousness appeared on Qin Ruoying's face, yet at this moment, it was on Qin Ruojing's face.

"Sis...I... No, our lips didn't touch, really. There was still a gap between us, I..."

Qin Ruoying hurriedly explained, unsure what else to say after she finished, and could only press her lips tightly together in a fluster. That's just how it was, what more was there to explain? How else could she explain?

Qin Ruojing casually tossed her handbag onto the sofa and sat down with a smile, "Alright, no need to explain any of that. It's okay, whatever you think, just say it. Anyway, that guy isn't here right now. It's just us sisters; there's nothing we can't talk about."

Even though Qin Ruojing said this, Qin Ruoying still stood there tense, like a student who made a mistake, not daring to meet Qin Ruojing's gaze.

Talk about this kind of thing with her sister? It was too crazy, right? How could she possibly say anything? Besides, they really didn't! Even though it was close, they didn't actually touch!

"Come, Ruoying, come here." Qin Ruojing still smiled so gently, lightly patting the spot next to her on the sofa.

Qin Ruoying hesitated for a moment but eventually walked over to Qin Ruojing's side, sitting down close to her.

Qin Ruojing raised her hand, making Qin Ruoying tense even more, her shoulder shrinking reflexively, her eyes instinctively closing.

However, the pain she imagined didn't come. Qin Ruojing's hand landed softly on her shoulder, patting gently and warmly.

"Alright, if you don't want to say, I won't force you. Let's just say your brother-in-law got off easy."

"Sis... our lips really didn't touch." Qin Ruoying became more conflicted, her fingers intertwining, lowering her head as if she could bury it in her knees. Qin Ruojing obviously didn't believe it—after all, from her perspective, it was really hard to see clearly.

"Mm-hmm, alright, alright, no need to say more. Anyway, didn't you say your lips didn't touch at all? I believe you, I really do."

"Sis..." Qin Ruoying's heart was even more flustered, and she lowered her head further.

"Oh, that's right, Ruoying, didn't you want to ask me about what happened yesterday between me and your brother-in-law? How about I tell you now?"

Hearing Qin Ruojing say this, Qin Ruoying's feelings became incredibly complex, all sorts of emotions entwining to the point of being indescribable.

In any case, under the influence of this nearly unspeakable complexity, Qin Ruoying lowered her head even more, her gaze fixed intensely on her feet, as if there were something there worthy of all her attention or as if she wanted to see through the floor.

Qin Ruojing didn't seem to expect an answer from her sister, patting her shoulder again softly before beginning to speak on her own.

"Your brother-in-law, you see... Don't be fooled by his carefree demeanor daily; when he is gentle, it's like he becomes a different person. Last night, he..."

Qin Ruojing spoke in great detail, not missing a single part of the story. As she narrated, everything about yesterday unfolded in her words—a tale as beautiful as spring in blossom, as sacred as Adam and Eve.

Qin Ruojing narrated gently, and Qin Ruoying listened quietly at her side. The head once hanging low gradually lifted, and the once overwhelmingly complex feelings gradually incorporated a new element—admiration, genuine admiration.

Just when Qin Ruojing reached the most critical point, Qin Ruoying was so absorbed she forgot everything around her, nearly holding her breath as images from the previous night filled her mind. Suddenly, there was a "knocking" sound at the door.

Although the knocking wasn't loud or urgent, it startled Qin Ruoying significantly, as if she'd been caught in the act of doing something guilty, snapping her out of her absorbed state and practically leaping off the sofa.

Qin Ruojing chuckled, giving Qin Ruoying an encouraging look, "It should be your brother-in-law back with the groceries. Go check; if it's him, open the door."

Qin Ruoying looked at her sister, then at the door that continued knocking, and froze, not moving. Qin Ruojing chuckled lightly again, reaching out to tap her sister on the bottom, "Go on, his hands are probably full of stuff."

"Oh... oh."

Qin Ruoying reluctantly agreed and walked over hesitantly. Through the peephole, she saw Chu Ge standing at the door with a bunch of groceries. She took a long deep breath before opening the door.

"Brother-in-law, um, you're back." Qin Ruoying awkwardly greeted.

"Hmm, I'm back."

Chu Ge still felt quite awkward inside. He glanced at Qin Ruojing on the sofa, but there was no change in his expression. He smiled and handed the things in his hands to Qin Ruoying.

Qin Ruojing sat elegantly on the sofa, not turning her head to look at Chu Ge, not even glancing at him, as if Chu Ge hadn't returned at all.

Being ignored like this by Qin Ruojing really made Chu Ge feel uncomfortable. He sighed inwardly, spoke a few more words with Qin Ruoying, and then headed into the kitchen to start preparing dinner.

The day after tomorrow, he had to meet Liang Chen, and before leaving, Chu Ge really didn't want to have any unpleasantness with Qin Ruojing. Unfortunately, this unexpected situation arose.

Ugh... Should he say he's lucky or unlucky?

Chu Ge muttered to himself as his knife skillfully danced through the ingredients on the cutting board, taking out his frustration. But unbeknownst to him, as he entered the kitchen, the corners of Qin Ruojing's mouth slightly turned up.

Dinner was very sumptuous, full of dishes the Qin sisters loved. Chu Ge was already quite skilled at cooking, and this time, he put in extra effort. The flavors were naturally impeccable.

He was initially looking forward to Qin Ruojing saying something to him during dinner. He even picked several of her favorite dishes for her. Unfortunately... Qin Ruojing continued to eat and drink, chatting happily with Qin Ruoying, without acknowledging him at all.

Chu Ge felt even more depressed. It seemed he would have to wait until he was alone with Qin Ruojing in the evening to cheer her up.

After an unusually tense dinner, the Qin sisters cleared the table, while Chu Ge remained seated.

As Chu Ge pondered how to cheer up Qin Ruojing, he suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder.

Instinctively looking up, Chu Ge was taken aback to see Qin Ruojing meeting his gaze. Even more surprisingly, her delicate face was adorned with a graceful smile.

Seeing such a smile, Chu Ge felt a rush of excitement in his heart. Could this be... a sign she's not mad at him anymore?

"Husband..."

Following that, Qin Ruojing softly uttered three words, making Chu Ge's eyes light up and his heart fill with even more excitement. This is what they call happiness arriving unexpectedly!

"Yes." Chu Ge quickly responded.

"Come with me for a second." After saying this, Qin Ruojing headed to the kitchen, leaving Chu Ge frozen for a split second before getting up with a great mood and following her.

Leaning inside the kitchen's doorway, Qin Ruojing waited for Chu Ge to enter, then smiled slightly, "Husband, you cooked so many delicious things for dinner today, it must have been tiring."

"Not tiring at all, not at all. It's my duty." Seeing Qin Ruojing's good attitude, Chu Ge couldn't help but grin and rubbed his nose with a smile.

"I'm a bit sore in the waist now, and it's said that washing with cold water isn't too good at the moment. Would you mind washing the dishes for me this time?"

Any perceptive man wouldn't refuse such a request, and Chu Ge was no exception. He nodded almost immediately, but seeing Qin Ruojing's expression become a bit strange, he thought for a moment before realizing the awkwardness and shook his head instead.

"I don't mind, of course not."

"Thanks a lot then." Qin Ruojing chuckled, placing the dishcloth into Chu Ge's hands.

Chu Ge was just about to roll up his sleeves when Qin Ruojing suddenly leaned close to his ear.

Chu Ge's heart bloomed with joy, thinking this must mean Qin Ruojing wasn't mad at him anymore. But just as this delightful thought crossed his mind, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his ear as Qin Ruojing gave him a playful bite.

"You... do you know why I bit you? I'm sure you know, right?"

Leaving these words, Qin Ruojing turned and walked out, leaving Chu Ge alone in the kitchen, bewildered and at a loss.

What on earth was that all about? How was he supposed to know why Qin Ruojing bit him?

Even if she misunderstood him with Qin Ruoying from a bad angle just now, wouldn't Qin Ruoying have explained it to her after spending so much time together just now?

Sighing, Chu Ge started washing the dishes, trying to push the messy thoughts aside. But even after he scrubbed all the dishes and cutlery sparkling clean, these thoughts lingered in his mind, refusing to disperse.
