Urban Soldier Young Master

Chapter 678: Such a Terrifying Punch

Chu Ge "barely" climbed to the top of the tree, grabbing onto a branch in a rather awkward position, and looked at Song Baijia with a bitter smile, "This wild boar... is it really this fierce?"

Though saying this, Chu Ge was actually chuckling mischievously inside, heh heh... Now we're both stuck in the same boat.

Song Baijia let out a bitter laugh, "I told you this guy..."

Before Song Baijia could finish his sentence, the wild boar rammed into the trunk again. This time, it hit with more force than before, and the "thud" reverberated in the ears of both of them on the tree, causing the tree to shake even more violently.

Song Baijia's voice abruptly stopped, and Chu Ge's body swayed precariously, seeming as though he was about to fall from the tree.

"Watch out!"

Song Baijia quickly reached out, grabbing Chu Ge's arm. But before he could relax, another fierce roar from the boar echoed around them.

Song Baijia looked down and saw the boar circling the tree twice. It then stepped back a few paces, shaking its enraged bristle-covered body before accelerating and crashing forward.

"Crack, crack, crack..."

The bodies of Song Baijia and Chu Ge swayed, and the branches beneath them made a tooth-aching sound, as if they might break under their weight at any moment.

"Master Song, it's all my fault for provoking this guy to anger, sigh... what do we do now?" Chu Ge's body froze, and he looked down at the wild boar with a "fearful" expression, heaving a long sigh, asking in utter "panic".

Song Baijia didn't respond, his gaze fixated on the furious wild boar, brewing its next assault, his expression increasingly conflicted.

"How about..." Chu Ge hesitated for a moment, then looked as if he had made up his mind, "I go down now, find a chance to lure it away, and you run while you can."

"No way!" Song Baijia shook his head firmly and grabbed Chu Ge's arm, "If you go down now, you're as good as dead!"

Feeling Song Baijia's evident concern, Chu Ge was filled with warmth. No wonder Song Baijia is so well-liked; this buddy is truly considerate, able to show such concern for a stranger—he surely treats those around him even better.

Besides feeling warmth, Chu Ge suddenly felt quite foolish. Since Song Baijia harbored no malice toward him, there's no need to be stubbornly curious.

From the current situation, Song Baijia seems to possess no extraordinary skills other than his keen senses. Even if he did have great strength, if he chooses not to show it, why force him?

Even though Chu Ge is confident in his own abilities, there's always a chance things might go wrong. If his curiosity causes harm to Song Baijia, he could never forgive himself.

Thinking about this, Chu Ge shook his head at Song Baijia, no longer pretending to be panicked, and smiled peacefully and apologetically.

"Brother Song, I caused this trouble, so I should resolve it. Sorry for dragging you into this; I'm truly a jerk. From now on, consider me your friend!"

After saying this, Chu Ge swiftly leaped, jumping towards the boar that was charging again.

However, as soon as his body left the tree, a tremendous force suddenly pulled on his wrist, and before he could react, Song Baijia had yanked him back onto the tree.

At the same time, Chu Ge heard a "snap" close to his ear, and as his vision blurred, Song Baijia had already fallen off the tree.

Chu Ge's pupils narrowed as he quickly extended his right hand, but Song Baijia brushed his hand aside, gave him a silly smile, "What's with that? We were already friends yesterday!"

As these words reached Chu Ge's ears, the distance between Song Baijia and the charging wild boar was less than half a meter!

The boar had been focused on the tree, but when suddenly seeing a person fall, it immediately shifted its target, digging its sharp tusks into the ground with its hooves, and charged toward Song Baijia.

Such simple words depicted such a horrifying scene that Chu Ge felt his heart wrench painfully for a moment, his eyes widening to the extreme!

In that instant, Chu Ge's mind went blank with a "buzz," leaving him with no time to do anything but watch in shock.

Just then, Chu Ge saw Song Baijia raise his right fist, letting out a fierce shout, and hitting the wild boar hard.

"Thud"

A dull sound suddenly reverberated, making Chu Ge subconsciously open his mouth wide, his eyes filled with shock and amazement.

Song Baijia's fist came crashing down on the boar's spine, amid a sound that could send chills up anyone's spine. It seemed to defy the laws of inertia, causing the boar, in mid-charge, to collapse directly to the ground.

Shortly after, where Song Baijia and the boar landed, a visible depression appeared in the soil, with the ground within a few meters of them shaking violently, creating a gale that scattered dry leaves everywhere.

Chu Ge stared blankly at the scene before him. Even though he had guessed Song Baijia was deeply concealed, he hadn't expected him to hide his strength so profoundly. The force of that punch was unbelievably terrifying!

Pinning a charging wild boar to the ground with one punch is no different from stopping a speeding car with your bare hands on the highway!

If someone from Chu Ge's former organization had done this, he wouldn't find it surprising, but seeing this happen with Song Baijia made Chu Ge's jaw drop.

Chu Ge blinked and swallowed hard, jumping down from the tree, and shifted his gaze to the wild boar that had been so aggressive just a fraction of a second ago.

The wild boar's back was twisted in an odd shape, clearly with shattered bones, and its four short, stout legs were broken as well, lying on the ground like a heap of mush, its body twitching intermittently, its wailing growing weaker. Clearly, no matter how tenacious its life force, it wouldn't last much longer.

Next to the wild boar, Song Baijia's arm and fist remained in the pose from when he knocked down the boar, with his head bowed, making it impossible for Chu Ge to see his expression.

Chu Ge had been eager to witness Song Baijia's strength for a long time. Now that he had really seen it, he suddenly found himself at a loss for words.

Song Baijia said nothing either, just stood there with his head down, exuding a mysterious aura.

Both remained silent, with only the sounds of the wild boar's dying struggles echoing through the deep forest, and even that sound was growing weaker.

The wild boar's wailing finally ceased completely. Chu Ge looked at the motionless Song Baijia and broke the silence.

"Song, the boar's done for, you... don't need to keep acting cool, do you?"

Chu Ge said this with a smile, trying to lighten the mood, but Song Baijia still didn't move, as if he hadn't heard Chu Ge at all.

Chu Ge scratched his head, walked over to Song Baijia, and patted him on the shoulder, "Song?"

With that pat, Song Baijia finally moved, but instead of raising his head, his body began to lean forward and he fell straight toward the ground.

Chu Ge was startled and quickly caught Song Baijia, "Song! What's wrong with you?"

Under Chu Ge's concerned gaze, Song Baijia opened his mouth but didn't utter a sound. Chu Ge frowned, hurriedly supporting Song Baijia and helped him sit down on the ground.

Though worried, Chu Ge didn't know what was going on with Song Baijia and didn't want to take any rash actions. He could only clinch his fists anxiously and wait on the side.

After nearly a whole minute, Song Baijia's lips finally moved, emitting a very faint sound.

"Do... do you have something to eat?"

Chu Ge was stunned. He had never imagined Song Baijia would blurt out such words, but even though full of questions, now wasn't the time to ask. He immediately opened his bag and pulled out a piece of chocolate he had bought earlier in the day.

"Song, will chocolate do? Do you want some?"

Song Baijia's gaze was fixed on the chocolate, and he nodded very slightly.

Chu Ge quickly unwrapped it, broke off a piece, and gave it to Song Baijia.

Song Baijia was obviously extremely weak, without the strength to chew. After taking the piece of chocolate, he closed his eyes.

A few tens of seconds later, Song Baijia opened his eyes again, "More… another piece."

Chu Ge quickly fed him another piece, and Song Baijia seemed significantly better. He started chewing after holding it for a few seconds, and without needing to be told, Chu Ge broke off another piece as soon as he swallowed and handed it over.

As a few pieces of chocolate went down, Song Baijia's energy visibly improved. After finishing all of Chu Ge's chocolate, he exhaled a long breath and looked over with anticipation, "Is there more to eat?"

Chu Ge apologetically shook his head, "No more."

Receiving the negative answer, Song Baijia's eyes showed obvious disappointment as he rubbed his round stomach, "Still so hungry."

Seeing Song Baijia regain his ability to speak and move, Chu Ge finally let out a sigh of relief, "Song, are you okay now?"

"Yeah, nothing major." Song Baijia replied, his eyes somewhat evasive as he looked at Chu Ge, "Master, do you... do you still mean what you said earlier?"

Chu Ge laughed, "Yeah, of course, I meant it."

Song Baijia froze, blinking, "Do you know which words I mean?"

Chu Ge nodded, "Of course I know, you want to ask if I still consider you a friend, right?"

"You... don't think I'm a monster?" At this, Song Baijia's expression became indescribably complex.
