Urban Soldier Young Master

Chapter 529 Start Betting

The private room was filled with thick smoke, the air extremely murky. Four men sat around a table, with a young girl beside them responsible for shuffling the cards.

On the table, each person had varying amounts of cash in front of them. Some had serious expressions, others looked relaxed, and a few had shifty eyes, creating quite a tense atmosphere.

As the room door opened, the four people at the table all glanced over, their eyes lighting up with a covetous look. They couldn't tell if this woman was a new escort or someone this guy brought in, but she was a stunner!

Under such stares, Mu Lingshan felt an indescribable disgust, but she didn't want any extra trouble, so she just endured it.

"What the hell are you looking at?"

To her surprise, Chu Ge's voice suddenly rang out next to her ear, his tone domineering and fierce. She turned her head to see Chu Ge glaring at the men at the table with an air of superiority and a hint of aggression.

The room's occupants were taken aback by Chu Ge's sudden outburst, and three of the four men quickly returned their attention to the playing cards in their hands.

After all, they were there to unwind, and dealing with someone wearing an expensive six-figure suit and exuding such arrogance wasn't something they were inclined to do.

Only one man in his thirties, tall and burly, wearing a gold chain and sporting a shaved head, clearly not one to cross, stared directly at Chu Ge. He slammed the table and cursed, "Screw you, I'm looking at your chick, so what?"

With that curse, Chu Ge and the man locked eyes, and the room's atmosphere immediately became charged with tension. The table shook, and the dozen or so hundred-yuan bills in front of the man fluttered to the ground.

Chu Ge grinned, flashing his white teeth, and leisurely walked over to the burly man's side. He glanced at the bills on the floor and said, "Are you so desperate from losing that you're taking it out on me?"

The burly man was indeed desperate from losing. He had brought over thirty thousand, but now only had a little over a thousand left. Otherwise, he wouldn't have reacted so impulsively, knowing well this was a place full of dangerous people where one wrong move could get him into trouble.

In fact, he regretted his words as soon as he said them, recognizing how expensive Chu Ge's suit was. However, since he had already spoken, he couldn't bring himself to back down.

"Damn you... ah!"

Before he could finish, Chu Ge grabbed him by the collar. Before he could react, he was yanked away from the table.

The chair he had been sitting on immediately toppled over, and Chu Ge's fist met his face. As his facial skin sank, he took a heavy kick to the stomach and fell backward with a "thud."

Everything happened so fast. Only when Chu Ge unhurriedly walked over to the big man again, stepped on his face, causing him to let out an indistinct groan, did the others in the room snap out of their stupor, their eyes twitching in unison.

My goodness, they've seen arrogance before, but not like this. Not even bothering with harsh words or asking who he was dealing with, just outright attacking? And even stepping on someone's face?

If it surprised everyone else, it shocked Mu Lingshan even more. Looking at Chu Ge, her mind went blank. Was this guy here to break up the gambling or just to stir up trouble? Why provoke such unnecessary issues?

The girl in charge of shuffling the cards subconsciously backed away, but the girl who brought Chu Ge and Mu Lingshan over remained calm, stepping a few paces away from Chu Ge. She said, "Sir, if I remember correctly, you came with me to play cards, right? Your actions are making things difficult for me."

Being part of Jinkai Villa, she naturally didn't want any fights here, as it might scare other guests or cause trouble. As the person who brought Chu Ge, she would be accountable, so she had to speak up, maintain the villa's image, and assure other guests of their safety.

Chu Ge turned his head, snorted softly through his nose, and said casually, "I'm here to play cards. No need to boss me around. I'm not interested in making things difficult for someone small like you."

While speaking, Chu Ge ground his foot more on the burly man's face, causing the girl who brought him to frown, looking even more displeased.

Despite the pressure this arrogant guy exerted, with his condescending tone, she knew she had to act.

However, just as she was about to call someone over, Chu Ge unzipped his shoulder bag, pulled out a wad of cash, and tossed it next to the big man's head as if discarding trash.

"This is your medical expense. Take the money and get lost. Don't be an eyesore. If you want to find trouble with me, you're welcome anytime. My room number is 006, got it?"

The burly man glanced at the nearly ten thousand yuan on the floor. He hesitated but remained silent, picking up the money and leaving disconcertedly. Just outside the door, looking at the cash in his hand, he couldn't help but grin.

Chu Ge's action left the surrounding people stunned again. Watching the burly man's figure, they felt a twinge of envy. Damn, one punch and kick and he gets ten thousand yuan? That deal... seems pretty good!

The three men by the card table even felt a bit regretful, damn it, why didn't they just take a stab earlier? Wouldn't they have scored a small victory? Anyway, nobody knows anybody here, what does face matter?

The girl who brought Chu Ge over glanced at him a few more times and finally put down the walkie-talkie, giving up the idea of calling someone over.

The burly guy pushed the door open and left, and Chu Ge turned his head, looked at Mu Lingshan, "Hey girl, didn't you want to play cards? Go ahead and play."

Mu Lingshan was still feeling tense at this moment, no mood for card games, shook her head, "Brother Qian, I don't want to play anymore, you play instead."

Chu Ge shrugged indifferently, glanced at the chair that was overturned on the ground, then looked at the girl in charge of dealing the cards.

The girl quickly propped up the chair, and Chu Ge sat down in a bold, dominant manner, crossing one leg over the other, and said calmly, "So, what's the rule?"

The girl in charge of shuffling the cards had been somewhat intimidated by Chu Ge just now, and upon hearing his question, she quickly answered, "Boss, it's eight hundred an hour here, all drinks are free, as for the betting, that's for you guys to discuss."

Chu Ge glanced again at the three people at the table, the meaning was clear, care to explain the rules?

Facing Chu Ge's gaze, their eyes were somewhat evasive, the sight of the strong man getting beaten up was indeed intimidating to them.

In this somewhat oppressive atmosphere, one of the older men hesitated for a moment and then spoke, "We were just playing with a minimum bet of fifty and a maximum of one thousand."

Chu Ge slightly frowned, and said indifferently, "A bit low, isn't it?"

Sensing Chu Ge's obvious disdain in tone, the girl who brought him here felt a change in her perception of him, looking at him differently than before.

The three men around the card table all smiled wryly, as the amount was already quite significant for them.

The atmosphere grew a bit awkward again, exactly what Chu Ge wanted, and he shook his head with a look of helplessness, "Well, since I'm here, I guess I'll just play with these rules."

The girl who brought Chu Ge looked at Mu Lingshan, "Beauty, if you're not playing..." she paused, glanced at Chu Ge from the corner of her eye, and then continued, "could you move to the side?"

After all, Chu Ge and Mu Lingshan came together, and if she stayed by the table, there might be suspicion of cheating. Although it seemed from Chu Ge's appearance that he was a moneyed person, making cheating unlikely, rules are rules.

Mu Lingshan also looked at Chu Ge, clearly waiting for him to decide, fearing that if she made a decision, this oddball might do something unexpected again.

Chu Ge smiled lightly, waved her away, "Go ahead."

The girl who brought Chu Ge finally felt somewhat reassured, revising her assessment of him. Though he was a bit arrogant, he was reasonable and not someone who made unreasonable scenes.

As Mu Lingshan moved to the side, the game at the card table had already started. The girl expertly shuffled the cards and dealt them to the four people at the table in turn.

Mu Lingshan pretended to be uninterested while flipping through a fashion magazine, but her thoughts were all on Chu Ge. She wanted to see what kind of card skills this whimsical, eccentric guy had that he could be so proud of.

The first round began, and without even looking at his cards, Chu Ge directly threw in a bet of a thousand to the cap. Mu Lingshan's heart tightened, thinking, are you crazy?

The other three people at the card table were also somewhat dumbfounded, exchanging glances and finally looking at the older man who had spoken to Chu Ge earlier.

The old man felt bitter but having interacted with Chu Ge earlier, he could only muster the courage to ask, "Sir... boss, we might not have explained some rules clearly before, with you playing a hidden hand like this, should we follow up by doubling or just the usual way?"

Initially, he wanted to say young man or brother, but facing Chu Ge's demeanor, he didn't have the guts to call him that, so he changed to "boss" instead.

Chu Ge yawned and glanced impatiently at the old man, "Since I didn't specify, then you just follow normally. Is this trivial thing even worth asking?"

Hearing Chu Ge say this, the three at the card table were delighted, but only Mu Lingshan felt a headache. What's this guy up to?
