Chapter 403 Sister-In-Law's Suggestion

Being stared at so directly by Qin Ruoying, and then hearing her suddenly come out with such a statement, Chu Ge's forehead was instantly filled with black lines.

Although he understood that Qin Ruoying meant she had some sneaky idea, hearing it in his ears, it felt as if Qin Ruoying had his child, which really left him speechless.

If someone else heard this, the uproar and misunderstanding would be huge—it's completely nonsensical.

Just as Chu Ge was feeling utterly speechless, Qin Ruoying continued speaking, with another even more speechless idea.

"Brother-in-law, how about we just don't go home and directly find a hotel room instead?"

At this moment, Chu Ge had just started the car, and hearing this, he slammed on the brakes, whipping his head around, his eyes twitching wildly, looking at Qin Ruoying with a stunned expression.

Luckily, the car was moving slowly, otherwise he might have hit his head on the steering wheel.

"Xiaoying, have you had too much to drink? What nonsense are you talking?"

Qin Ruoying didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with her words at all, smiling in response to Chu Ge's gaze, "I'm saying we should get a hotel room."

Chu Ge's forehead had even more black lines now, pointing at himself, then at Qin Ruoying, he said with a very odd expression, "You? With me? Get a room?"

Qin Ruoying nodded matter-of-factly, "Yeah, anyway, my sister doesn't know I'm back yet, so it's just the two of us getting a room, sleeping a bit, and once the smell of alcohol wears off, we'll go home. Isn't that a good plan? Why are you reacting so much?"

Hearing Qin Ruoying say this, the oddity on Chu Ge's face finally eased a little; he had really been scared by her just moments before.

Seeing the change on Chu Ge's face, Qin Ruoying's face took on a sly expression again, punching Chu Ge, she said, "Oh, brother-in-law, you... couldn't have thought something dirty, could you?"

The "oh" was intentionally drawn out, and Qin Ruoying's mouth curved into an upward arc.

Chu Ge thought, are you kidding? A guy and a girl, talking about getting a room in the middle of the night, anyone would think wrongly, right?

However, since Qin Ruoying was his supposed sister-in-law, this kind of thing he certainly wouldn't admit to, hastily shaking his head, he said with a laugh, "Am I that kind of person?"

Qin Ruoying giggled, leaned towards Chu Ge until there were just a few centimeters between their faces, then parted her glossy lips, with a smile, she stared into Chu Ge's eyes and said, "Brother-in-law, are you sure you didn't think too much?"

Chu Ge smiled naturally, shook his head and said, "Of course not."

Yet, despite his denial, Qin Ruoying didn't turn her gaze away, still leaning forward, she smiled and waved a finger in front of his eyes.

"Brother-in-law, you don't have to deny it, even if you had such thoughts, it's quite normal, I wouldn't blame you. Why not just tell me the truth? Plus, you sleep beside my sister every night, but can't touch her, that must be really tough for you, right?"

Even as Qin Ruoying spoke sincerely, Chu Ge didn't forget he had the role of the brother-in-law before her. Given Qin Ruoying's quirky and spontaneous nature, this might be another test for him.

"Xiaoying, stop messing around, the longer we stay here, the angrier your sister might become. If you don't want to be scolded badly, let's just hurry home."

Chu Ge smiled calmly, lightly flicking Qin Ruoying's forehead.

"Ah...so we really can't get a room, huh?"

Qin Ruoying rubbed her forehead and leaned back in the passenger seat, her face turning sullen.

"Of course not, if your sister found out, we'd be dead."

Chu Ge said firmly, glancing at the road, he drove the car down the street.

"Alright, alright, let's go home."

Qin Ruoying pouted, mumbling in apparent frustration, turning her face towards the car window.

However, once she turned to the angle Chu Ge couldn't see, a sly sneer appeared on her previously frustrated face.

Everything, sure enough, was as she had expected, and she believed that when she and Chu Ge got home a while later, things would continue to proceed according to her plans.

Not long after, Chu Ge took Qin Ruoying back to the Huafu Garden District, parked the car, and took the elevator upstairs.

In the elevator, Qin Ruoying looked anxious, pleading with Chu Ge, "Brother-in-law, let's be quiet when we get in, don't wake my sister, let's just head to our rooms and sleep, okay?"

Chu Ge simply replied, "Okay."

The elevator ascended continuously. Qin Ruoying pondered for a while and then said, "Brother-in-law, if my sister wakes up and wants to scold me, you have to speak up for me. Make sure she doesn't get too angry. No matter what, she can't send me back to Kyoto."

Chu Ge still only replied with one word, "Okay."

Though he kept agreeing verbally, Chu Ge was quite conflicted in his heart. What on earth is this? If he really sneaks into Qin Ruojing's bed silently, wouldn't it scare the wits out of her, only for her to kick him off in shock? If he gets hit like that, wouldn't it be a bit unfair?

Chu Ge sighed silently. When will these bizarre days ever come to an end?

But after this sigh, Chu Ge's thoughts quickly shifted again.

Actually... with Qin Ruoying, this lively character, around, it's quite amusing to engage in this cat-and-mouse game with her alongside Qin Ruojing. Although it's often speechless and frustrating, somehow it seems more fun?

Chu Ge pondered carefully, quickly confirming his thought. There were indeed countless funny moments when he and Qin Ruojing were sparring with Qin Ruoying.

If one day he no longer had to pretend to be Qin Ruojing's boyfriend, he might find it a bit hard to adjust?

Both Chu Ge and Qin Ruoying harbored different thoughts as the elevator soon reached their destination.

After exiting the elevator, Qin Ruoying acted sneakily like a thief, tiptoeing around. Though Chu Ge forced a wry smile, unsure of how Qin Ruojing would react, he nonetheless maintained a composed appearance, taking out the key at the door to open it.

How else was he to act but composed? Even though at this moment, his feelings were far from as settled as they seemed.

"Creak."

The door opened with a sound. Qin Ruoying furtively slipped inside, not turning on the light nor wearing slippers, and made her way in the dark to the bedroom she usually slept in. She blinked at Chu Ge, pointed to Qin Ruojing's bedroom, gesturing for him to also enter.

Watching Qin Ruoying standing at the bedroom door, ready to go in anytime, Chu Ge was quite conflicted.

If he made some noise to alert Qin Ruojing now, she might get so flustered that she blurts something out, immediately revealing the relationship they worked so hard to fake.

But if he didn't warn Qin Ruojing and sneak in like Qin Ruoying, that might easily scare Qin Ruojing too.

After weighing both options, Chu Ge finally decided to just enter. After all, he and Qin Ruojing had slept together many times; at most, he'd keep her from making too much noise when she wakes up, fool Qin Ruoying temporarily, and explain later.

With that decision made, Chu Ge didn't turn on the light, swapped into slippers, and approached Qin Ruojing's bedroom door, opening it and stepping in.

In his sight, Qin Ruojing lay on the bed, clearly still asleep. Chu Ge walked over gently and tapped her shoulder lightly.

After two or three taps, Qin Ruojing finally responded, groggily opening her eyes.

With her eyes half-open, Qin Ruojing vaguely saw a man sitting on the bed, his clear eyes looking straight at her face.

However, because the room was dark and Qin Ruojing had just woken up, she only saw the outline of a man and couldn't make out Chu Ge's face.

For any woman, suddenly finding a man watching you in the middle of the night as you sleep would be an extremely terrifying thing.

Qin Ruojing was no exception. As soon as she saw the man's figure, she jolted in fright, her sleepiness vanishing completely, her pupils contracted sharply, and her hands pressed against the bed, instinctively about to scream.

Predicting Qin Ruojing's reaction, Chu Ge quickly covered her mouth before she could make a sound, leaning in to whisper in her ear, "Don't be afraid, it's me, Chu Ge. Don't scream, listen to my explanation first."

Upon hearing Chu Ge's voice, Qin Ruojing's face slightly softened, she blinked and furrowed her brows, nodding lightly.

"Your sister sneaked back quietly alone. I went to pick her up earlier, and now she's home, so I came back too."

Leaning by Qin Ruojing's ear, Chu Ge removed his hand from her mouth, explaining concisely.

"What? That little brat actually sneaked back alone at this hour? Does she know how dangerous that is? Utterly reckless!"

Despite Chu Ge's gaze and tone suggesting Qin Ruojing remain calm, learning of this incident infuriated her. Her brows furrowed tightly, and she sat straight up from the bed.

In just a moment, the initial terror in Qin Ruojing's heart dissipated entirely, replaced by full anger. Part of it was directed at her sister, and another unnamed rage stemmed from a source she herself hadn't realized.

As Qin Ruojing sat up, the thin blanket on her body slid off.

At the same time, when Qin Ruoying's voice filled with anger abruptly sounded in the quiet room, Qin Ruoying's lips curled upward.
