Urban Soldier Young Master

Chapter 142 Shu Lulu Wants a Gift

Hearing Shu Lulu's plea, Chu Ge thought for a moment, actually what she said wasn't completely without reason.

Ice three feet thick doesn't form in a day, and studying is the same. The college entrance exam is almost here, and whether you study one more day or one less day, there really isn't much difference.

Besides, shopping with a lively, youthful, pretty girl is obviously more fun than doing it alone.

"Promise you won't cause trouble?"

"Mm-hmm, I promise!"

"Then I'll trust you this once, but you have to listen to me the whole time, or I'll send you home anytime."

"You're the man, Uncle! I promise to obey your every word, you can make me do anything you want!"

"Alright, then let's meet at the bus stop where we used to take the bus together, in half an hour."

After hanging up, Chu Ge casually put on a white T-shirt and a pair of big shorts with many pockets. After hesitating for a moment, he slipped the Platinum Card Qin Ruojing gave him into his pocket, just in case.

Over twenty minutes later, Chu Ge arrived near the bus stop where he agreed to meet Shu Lulu. Upon seeing him come from across the street, Shu Lulu waved with a smile and a puzzled look from a distance.

"Uncle, why did you come from that direction?" Shu Lulu asked curiously once Chu Ge reached the bus stop.

Chu Ge laughed heartily, "How could your uncle, dashing and graceful, possibly stay home all day? Of course, I went out last night to have wild fun. Oh, I had such a tough time last night, my waist still hurts now."

In Chu Ge's view, his words would either make Shu Lulu think he was bragging or that he was up to no good.

Either way, it could make his image in her eyes worse, thus she wouldn't keep demanding to be his mistress so recklessly.

As expected, after Chu Ge spoke, Shu Lulu was slightly dazed, her eyes suddenly widened.

However, just as Chu Ge thought his words had the desired effect and started to feel pleased, Shu Lulu reacted in a way he never expected.

"Wow! Uncle, you're too cool! You're simply full of youthful vigor! No, no, you're not even old, you're still young! Your waist hurts? Should I give you a massage?"

Seeing Shu Lulu suddenly energized, with eyes full of admiration instead of disgust or annoyance, Chu Ge was truly speechless. Does this little girl have it wrong? What kind of inexplicable reaction is this?

While Chu Ge felt puzzled, the few people waiting for the bus were even more dumbfounded, blinking in disbelief with one thought in their minds: "What? Really?"

"Stop, stop, do you really want to give me a massage? Come on, stop it, I'm just wondering, why do you seem so happy about me going out to have fun?"

"Yup, yup, of course I'm happy, it shows that Uncle, you have charisma and skill, and it also proves I have good taste. Many people want to go out and have fun but don't have the means."

Shu Lulu grinned as she spoke, her eyes casually glanced at the few men standing nearby, as if to say, "What are you looking at? I'm talking about you!"

Under Shu Lulu's gaze, the faces of the men at the bus stop turned somewhat embarrassed, and they quickly looked away nonchalantly.

After all, what Shu Lulu said wasn't entirely unreasonable. They also wanted to enjoy life, but either lacked money, didn't look the part, or were under strict spousal control, leading to only having the desire but not the courage.

But they thought Chu Ge was plainly boasting. Judging by his shabby clothes, he wasn't even better off than them. How could he have money to go out and have fun? Is it possible women paid him?

Really, they couldn't understand what that little girl was thinking. How could she believe such an obvious lie?

Seeing Shu Lulu's smug face, Chu Ge genuinely felt a bit overwhelmed. The little girl's mindset couldn't be understood using normal logic.

Amused and speechless, Chu Ge watched as the bus pulled in.

Once on the bus, they found a pair of seats together, and as soon as they sat down, Shu Lulu enthusiastically started telling Chu Ge about something that shocked the entire school yesterday. She was so caught up that if Chu Ge hadn't reminded her, they almost missed their stop.

Getting off the bus, Shu Lulu suddenly remembered they were here to shop with Chu Ge and realized she still didn't know what Chu Ge intended to buy.

"By the way, Uncle, what are we buying today? Later, I'll show you my bargaining skills."

Chu Ge chuckled, "I'm buying a computer, do you know about that?"

Shu Lulu chuckled awkwardly, scratching her head, "Uh… actually, I don't know much about that."

Seeing Chu Ge's amusing expression, Shu Lulu quickly puffed up her chest, brimming with confidence, "But no worries, even if I don't understand, I can still help you bargain!"

As they were talking and about to enter the mall, a white Toyota Corolla drove past them at an extremely close distance.

Shu Lulu was busy making promises to Chu Ge and didn't notice this car at all until Chu Ge pulled her back, only then did she realize that the Corolla had driven past her. If it weren't for Chu Ge, she might have been hit by it.

"Hey! How are you driving?"

Shu Lulu was startled, slapped her chest out of fear, and then glared at the slowly decelerating Corolla heading towards a parking spot with mall staff guidance and shouted at it.

Seeing the puffed-up Shu Lulu, Chu Ge smiled, "It didn't hit you, right? Maybe the driver is a newbie; no need to be so concerned?"

"No way, if it weren't for you, I'd probably be in the hospital now. At the very least, that driver should apologize to me, or I won't feel right."

As she spoke, Shu Lulu walked towards the Corolla, and Chu Ge didn't say anything more since it was indeed a dangerous situation, and Shu Lulu wanting an apology seemed reasonable enough.

After parking, the Corolla's door opened, and a young girl stepped out.

The girl looked about the same age as Shu Lulu, wearing a white dress, with a good figure and appearance, but her slightly upturned chin gave off an impression of arrogance, making her seem unapproachable.

Seeing the girl, Shu Lulu was slightly stunned, her steps hesitated, and the words on her lips were swallowed back down.

However, just as Shu Lulu furrowed her brow and was about to turn around, the girl spoke, "Oh? Isn't this Shu Lulu? It's been a long time, hasn't it?"

The tone clearly had a mocking undertone, and the words "a long time" were deliberately stretched out.

"Haha, Tan Jingjing, it has indeed been a while, but I have something to do, so I'll go now." Shu Lulu said somewhat impatiently.

"It's rare for us old classmates to meet once, so don't rush to leave. By the way, did you shout something behind my car earlier? Sorry, I didn't hear it clearly, could you maybe repeat it?"

Not wanting to deal with Tan Jingjing, seeing her assuming such an overbearing demeanor, Shu Lulu was even more infuriated.

"I asked if you can drive? Did you know you almost hit me just now?"

Tan Jingjing elongated her "Oh" with a condescending smirk, "Shu Lulu, you used to be the top student and school beauty, how did you end up doing something like this after transferring to that lousy school, Number Three? You really surprised me!"

Shu Lulu frowned even more; the more she wanted to ignore Tan Jingjing, the more Tan Jingjing seemed to provoke her.

"Tan Jingjing, make yourself clear, what do you mean by something like this?"

"Haha, do I really need to spell it out for you? Isn't this just an attempt to extort some money?"

Seeing Shu Lulu getting angrier, Tan Jingjing felt even more triumphant.

Before Shu Lulu could respond, she raised her chin higher and teased, "What, did I hit the nail on the head, leaving you speechless? Embarrassed to speak up since we're old classmates, huh? But let me give you a piece of advice, trying to pull a scam like this comes with a bit of cost. You're perfectly fine, didn't even fall, isn't trying to extort money here a bit far-fetched?"

"Oh dear... seeing you so fallen now, I really feel sorry for you. Considering our three years as middle school classmates, if you're really having a hard time, just ask me, and maybe I'll be generous enough to give you some pocket money if it pleases me. How about it, do you want to try asking? Haha..."

"You..."

Shu Lulu was genuinely infuriated; she hadn't expected Tan Jingjing to be even more cutting with words than she used to be. Despite having been classmates, she could say something so unpleasant.

However, just as Shu Lulu lifted her hand, it was caught by a large hand.

"Lulu, let's go."

Holding onto Shu Lulu's slightly trembling small hand, Chu Ge gave her a gentle smile and simply started walking.

Shu Lulu bit her lip, took a deep breath, moved her gaze from Tan Jingjing's smug face, and ultimately said nothing more, following Chu Ge's footsteps.

"Lulu, have you heard this saying before?" asked Chu Ge as they walked.

"What saying?" Shu Lulu, still a bit angry, her chest heaving up and down, tried not to let her bad mood affect Chu Ge, but couldn't help sounding a bit irritated.

"Never argue with a total idiot, because they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with their experience of being an idiot for years."

As Chu Ge's words entered Shu Lulu's ears, her previously furious mood suddenly improved significantly, and she burst out laughing.

"Uncle, that's not something I would've thought you'd say. Turns out, you have such a trendy side too?"

Chu Ge laughed heartily; he had heard this saying from He Junming a few days ago at the hospital, not expecting it to come in handy so soon.

The same words reached Tan Jingjing's ears, giving her a feeling completely different from Shu Lulu's. Her earlier smugness instantly turned into anger, narrowing her eyes, her face growing colder, as she briskly walked towards Chu Ge.
