My Silly, Sweet Wife

Chapter 310 Going to the Hongmen Banquet

The security guards descended, and over a dozen of them stormed out from the duty room, quickly surrounding Su Jiu'er.

As a newcomer to Dragon Teeth, Su Jiu'er followed her brother Su Ze to Yun City to investigate the sudden appearance of many martial arts masters.

After some understanding, they realized that many recent events seemed connected to the Chen Group, so they came to investigate at the Chen Group immediately.

After staking out for a whole day, they didn't obtain any results.

Su Jiu'er couldn't bear it any longer.

She couldn't believe Chen Ziran had such skills; she knew that even if she asked Chen Ziran, she probably wouldn't get any useful information, so she decided to use force to lure out the hidden masters within the Chen Group.

Earlier, she had only slapped out without using full strength, just intending to intimidate, but didn't expect the security guards to react so quickly.

"It's her!" one security guard angrily pointed at Su Jiu'er, "She tried to break into the Chen Group; she's definitely after Mr. Chen."

Although Su Jiu'er was a woman, these security guards were just motivated by Ye Guichen and wouldn't let anyone cause trouble here.

They all drew their rubber batons.

Zhang Fugui stepped forward, "Surrender obediently and accept our investigation, or don't blame us for bullying a woman!"

Su Jiu'er sneered, "With just you guys?"

Then, she disdainfully extended her middle finger at the squad of security guards, "If you have the guts, capture me; otherwise, I must go in today!"

"Arrogant!" The security guards knew how formidable Bai Qinghe was, but this frail-looking girl in front of them, how tough could she be?

Zhang Fugui was the first to swing his rubber baton at Su Jiu'er.

Su Jiu'er didn't even blink, launched a flying kick and easily sent Zhang Fugui flying.

The other security guards were stunned, exchanged glances, and angrily roared, charging at Su Jiu'er.

With swift moves, Su Jiu'er knocked the security guards away again.

Patting her hands, Su Jiu'er provocatively said, "So, are you useless guys still trying to stop me?"

"Damn it, we can't lose face in front of our boss!" Zhang Fugui and the others didn't expect Su Jiu'er to be so capable in combat, feeling humiliated.

Getting beaten up by Bai Qinghe was something they could accept, but being bullied by this girl who appeared out of nowhere caused them great shame.

"Brothers, take her down!" Zhang Fugui staggered up.

The other security guards once again surrounded Su Jiu'er.

Su Jiu'er was slightly astonished.

In her impression, security guards were usually people who bullied the weak and feared the strong, but these security guards seemed like warriors, fearless of death.

"You aren't afraid of dying?" Su Jiu'er frowned, gripping her fist again.

Zhang Fugui wiped the blood off the corner of his mouth, "Kid, this is our turf. If you come here seeking trouble, you're miscalculating!"

With that, he charged again.

Initially, Su Jiu'er didn't take these security guards seriously, but now was inexplicably irritated.

Being in Dragon Teeth, dealing with ordinary people was disgraceful, but these security guards had no intention of letting her go.

Could they really kill them, she would definitely be punished by Dragon Teeth.

"Boring!" Seeing no master appear, knowing her plan for today fell through, Su Jiu'er leapt and swiftly jumped out of their encirclement, quickly diving into the SUV, and angrily said, "Brother, let's go!"

The security guards didn't expect Su Jiu'er to escape; they intended to chase, but the SUV had already sped away.

"Quick, report to Captain Bai. Everyone guard the gates, and if anyone causes trouble again, take them down!" Zhang Fugui shouted, turning to the infirmary.

In the SUV, Su Jiu'er was brooding silently.

Su Ze sighed, "Jiu'er, are you okay?"

"Hmph, what could happen to me?" Su Jiu'er frowned, "A bunch of riffraff all trying to be heroes. I don't know what they're thinking!"

In Su Jiu'er's eyes, these ordinary people were like ants.

She never regarded these people seriously, thinking that if she wanted, they would all have to kneel and beg for mercy.

Today's situation annoyed her greatly.

Su Ze, however, pondered aloud, "Jiu'er, can you discuss things with me first? Dealing with ordinary people, if it's discovered, you'll be punished for sure."

"I just wanted to lure out the hidden masters in the Chen Group." Su Jiu'er stubbornly said, "The boss also said, as long as the task can be completed, we can use extraordinary means at crucial moments. Hmph, I didn't expect a bunch of security guards to be so stubborn, such bad luck."

Su Ze was silent for a moment before he spoke, "Actually, it wasn't entirely unfruitful."

"Brother, stop trying to comfort me." Su Jiu'er was upset and glared at Su Ze.

Su Ze smiled mildly, "Promise me, from now on don't act on your own, and I'll tell you what we gained from today."

"Did we really gain something?" Su Jiu'er was skeptical.

Su Ze nodded, "How about it, promise me, then I'll tell you what I discovered."

Su Jiu'er bit her lip, "Fine, I promise you."

Su Ze's face turned serious, "I originally thought it'd only take a few days to understand the situation in Yun City, but seeing those security guards earlier, the situation seems more complex than we imagined."

Su Jiu'er turned her head quizzically, "Brother, what do you mean?"

"Think about it, those security guards knew they couldn't win, yet they were fearless in the face of death." Su Ze smiled wryly, "As I know, Chen Group's security guards have good salaries and benefits, but not to the extent that they would risk their lives for the job."

Su Jiu'er pondered for a moment and nodded, "Indeed, their demeanor was more like warriors, not ordinary security guards."

"Exactly. As the saying goes, under strong leaders, there are no weak soldiers. The person training these security guards must have exceptional skills. I've observed carefully; although these guards seem no match for you, each one's combat ability far exceeds that of an ordinary veteran. Yet they themselves don't seem aware of it."

"Brother, are you saying there's really a master behind these security guards?"

Su Ze nodded, "Very likely, and that person must have extremely strong management abilities, able to make many willingly sacrifice for him. So, we now know our next step."

...

Ye Guichen was almost at Shang Wen Dong's home when Zhang Fugui called, informing that no one was seriously injured. Ye Guichen instructed Zhang Fugui to stay alert before hanging up.

The fact that they openly came to the Chen Group showed they had no malicious intent.

The real concern was those who acted covertly.

So, Ye Guichen wasn't worried.

Upon reaching the gate of the community, Shang Shufang had already come to greet him. He approached and gave Ye Guichen a big hug, "Brother, you finally came. My dad has been waiting for you."

Ye Guichen felt a chill, quickly pushing Shang Wen Dong away, "Please, I'm not into this. Don't give me that."

"Haha, brother, people say 'once a brother, always a brother.' I'm just showing my excitement." Shang Shufang showed no trace of shame, instead led Ye Guichen into the community, introducing, "Brother, it's rare for my dad to invite someone home. I'll tell him later that I'll join you at the Medicinal Food Restaurant, haha."

"Alright, lead the way." Ye Guichen didn't know why Shang Shufang's father wanted to see him, but since he was invited for a meal with money promised, Ye Guichen had no reason to refuse.

However, upon reaching the villa, he distinctly sensed numerous intense murderous intents around.

Feast of the Hongmen?

Ye Guichen's mind tightened. He looked at Shang Shufang, who seemed unaware, becoming increasingly puzzled.

It appeared Shang Shufang didn't know about the intent to kill him.

Yet, Ye Guichen hadn't offended Shang Shufang's family, had he?
