The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 188: The Freak Has No Limits

Above Wanling City, countless totems soared, with various colors of light dazzling and auras astonishing.

The woman walked out of the library and saw that the city was already in chaos, and the crowds were running around in panic, trying to avoid the overwhelming light in the sky.

"How can there be so many totems?"

Voices of doubt began to arise beside the woman's ear: "Where did these totems leak from?"

"Nine, check it out quickly."

Those voices urged the woman to investigate the origins of the totems.

However, with just a few glances, the woman got her answer.

"They are coming out from underground."

In the center of Wanling City, where a huge pillar of light stood, totems continued to fly out.

"That pillar of light must be the source of the Spiritual Energy for this city."

The woman said, "I don't know why the totems are mixed with it."

But with this, the woman knew that the city was about to be destroyed by these violent totems.

She retracted the starlight in her eyes and began to observe.

However, the next moment, just as the totems were brewing their second explosion, something unexpected happened.

Countless figures rose into the air within Wanling City and, under their Spell, building after building lit up, the brilliance converging into a massive Wanling diagram.

The Wanling diagram sparkled with light, covering the totems.

"They're trying to suppress the totems."

The woman's eyes turned frosty.

These mortals were too bold, underestimating the totems.

These totems are Hongmeng's greatest legacy; they have never witnessed their true power.

"Let me show you."

The woman softly recited a Spell, and the totems in the sky, as if on command, swirled together, transforming into a giant bird with huge wings that covered the sky.

Flames rained down from the wings, the Immortal Fire blazing brightly.

"Kill!"

The shout came from the woman's mouth, and the giant bird dived toward the Wanling diagram.

Its impact was astonishing. Every person trying to protect the Wanling diagram coughed out blood and were shot out, their bodies aflame.

"Boom!"

The light from the Wanling diagram dimmed, and one pattern after another disappeared, turning into Spiritual Energy that filled the sky above the city.

The woman looked on indifferently as the diffusing Spiritual Energy created illusion after illusion, like a mirage, in mid-air.

Among those illusions, there were mountains and seas, and even some familiar scenes appeared.

The woman's body stiffened.

"How could this be!"

Her eyes suddenly widened, filled with disbelief.

"Impossible!"

"How could those things appear here!"

Voices in her ear began to shout.

But the woman seemed not to hear them, trembling, her soul quivering, liquid falling from her eyes beyond her will.

The illusions looming over Wanling City should not be here.

They were things that had vanished, existing only in their memories.

Those were things from the Hongmeng World.

How could they appear here?

Illusion, or trap?

The woman with tears, stared at the illusions as if bewitched.

"This must be a trap!"

"No, it's real, the Heavenly Dao can react with the Hongmeng Totems!"

The voices in her ears became a clamor.

"The totems record everything about Hongmeng, maybe this Heavenly Dao can recreate Hongmeng!"

"What the hell is Sun Wukong doing?"

"Nine, keep investigating a while longer, we absolutely cannot make a move so hastily!"

The undying people urged the woman to investigate further.

The woman remained motionless, watching the illusions in the sky until they all disappeared, then she regained her senses and wiped her tears.

"I want to look at this Heavenly Dao again."

She said so, "This is an opportunity, we cannot miss it."

This voice reached the Heavenly Palace.

"Indeed, it is so."

In the Virtue Palace, Sun Wukong retracted his glowing finger.

The surrounding Immortals looked at him in astonishment.

"Heavenly Emperor, were those totems released by you just now?"

Earth Virtues Star Monarch stepped forward to ask.

"Yes."

Sun Wukong nodded.

Earth Virtues Star Monarch was surprised: "Why would you do that?"

"Now is not the time to go to war."

Sun Wukong said: "This place is not suitable for a battlefield, I need to prepare some things."

He suddenly had a feeling that the upcoming battle would not be easy.

Out of caution, he devised this plan to buy some time.

The Immortals of the Virtue Palace were quite astonished.

"Heavenly Emperor."

Another curious Immortal asked: "How did you know that releasing those totems could buy us time?"

Emperor Yao also looked at Sun Wukong in surprise: "Your understanding of the undead seems to be no less than mine."

"I was just giving it a try."

Sun Wukong replied.

He was not entirely sure, but the first encounter with the undead had made a deep impression on him; that's why he attempted to use those illusive scenes to evoke the emotions of the undead.

It turned out that the undead really did resemble them.

Their feelings towards Hongmeng were extraordinary, beyond their comprehension.

Yet despite this, Sun Wukong also received some bad news.

"The control of the undead over totems appears to be no less than mine," he said.

The manipulation technique of totems by that woman had given him a sense of crisis.

But precisely because of this, he could not let the battlefield be in the Mortal World.

"Ao Luan."

Sun Wukong turned around, and as he finished speaking, a powerful fluctuation filled the air, and golden flames appeared out of nowhere, burning fiercely.

This flame emanated a strong aura, with countless totems flickering and transforming into a mirror. A surprised figure reflected within.

"Big Brother?"

Ao Luan in the mirror looked over: "What spell is this?"

"That's not important."

Sun Wukong shook his head, ignoring the dumbfounded Immortals around him, and said: "I need you to make some preparations in the Heavenly Court for me."

"Some preparations?"

Ao Luan put away his surprise and nodded: "Please speak, Big Brother."

"It's hard to explain, I'll teach you directly."

Sun Wukong's fingertips ignited with flames, and with a flick of his finger, the fire shot through the mirror and into Ao Luan's forehead.

"What!"

This scene shocked Emperor Yao.

"What kind of spell is this!?"

He looked at Sun Wukong in amazement.

The creation of a mirror linking to the Brahma Void Heavenly Court was already surprising to many, but considering the spread of the Heavenly Dao and totems, it wasn't too strange.

However, the fact that he could flick his fingers and tear through space, instantly striking Ao Luan, was truly astonishing.

Emperor Yao had never seen such a technique before.

"How did you do it?"

Emperor Yao asked: "Has your spell broken through the void?"

"The combination of the Heavenly Dao and the totems has led to new possibilities."

Sun Wukong replied: "I am still researching it, I can teach it to you later."

"How is that possible..."

Emperor Yao took a step back.

This spell seemed simple, but it was already beyond his imagination.

He has become stronger again!

Emperor Yao thought, his heart almost leaping out.

Does this freak have no limits at all?
