The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 163: Direction

Jingu Bang struck the earth like a Fire Dragon descending from the sky, bursting into brilliant Divine Radiance.

After the divine radiance, the earth thunderously split open, terrifying cracks emerging, the whole land roared like a spider-web, fracturing and falling into the void.

A piece of land that had stood for billions of years was now disintegrating, with red flames burning fiercely on the ground.

At the peak of the giant mountain, living beings watched the sky in horror and awe.

Everyone could see the red radiance emanating from Sun Wukong, a radiance that could rival the sun and moon and contend with heaven and earth, yet it was a radiance of destruction.

"He's gone mad!"

"He's going to destroy this land!"

"Everyone run!"

The horrified and awe-struck beings began to run towards the ends of the earth.

Sun Wukong swung his staff again, the red Fire Dragon reappeared, the earth collapsed with deafening noises, plummeting into the void, chilling to the core.

"Swipe!"

A shocking rainbow descended from the sky, landing in front of Sun Wukong.

Why do this?

Emperor Donghua gazed at Sun Wukong questioningly.

As the earth collapsed, his powers were restored.

The powers of other living beings on the ground also began to recover, all frantically fleeing; anyone slower by even a moment would be swallowed by the red fire.

Sun Wukong's eyes saw some radiance invisible to others.

That radiance emerged on the ground, surged into the high skies with the wild wind, and poured into the Blood Egg within him.

Sun Wukong raised his Long Stick again, swung it, pillars of fire bombarded the ground, the wild wind became more violent, and the dome of the sky trembled and collapsed.

"Roar!"

On the soon-to-collapse land, all living beings were running madly. They couldn't withstand the red fire swung down by Sun Wukong; if touched, their souls would disperse.

No one expected Sun Wukong to do something so crazy.

Nor did Emperor Donghua.

He watched Sun Wukong for a long time before Sun Wukong finally responded.

"Keeping this land has no meaning."

His golden pupils reflected the widespread red fire.

He didn't know what these red fires brought back, but the radiance carried the mark of Hongmeng and hope, useful to that egg.

Emperor Donghua wanted to ask more.

But Sun Wukong didn't respond; he turned to one side, reached out his hand, and with a giant hand covering the sky, space itself trembled.

"Wait!"

Before the giant hand struck, a figure appeared.

The Shopkeeper stood in the void, bowing to Sun Wukong.

"I wish to exchange questions with Heavenly Emperor."

The Shopkeeper said.

Sun Wukong withdrew his hand: "Go ahead, ask first."

"Heavenly Emperor, what did you gain from this land?"

Immediately the Shopkeeper asked.

He was aware that Sun Wukong wouldn't destroy this land without reason; he must have known, or obtained some information.

"I saw a world."

Sun Wukong answered the Shopkeeper's question.

He saw a vast, boundless world on this land, a world that had not yet emerged.

"Through destruction, there comes rebirth."

Sun Wukong replied.

The Shopkeeper pondered what this meant.

He quickly thought of a possibility and was suddenly startled: "Could it be... that egg can create a world?"

"I have answered. Now it's my turn to ask."

Sun Wukong no longer entertained the Shopkeeper's words and asked, "Who established the pharmacy?"

He recognized that this Shopkeeper was not the owner of the pharmacy.

A pharmacy could not exist safely for so long without the founder being an ordinary person, and the spells they wielded were not ordinary spells either.

The Shopkeeper went silent.

"Is it the Immortals?"

Sun Wukong cut to the chase.

The Shopkeeper sighed, then nodded: "Yes."

The Immortals were not one person, but a group.

The pharmacy was an organization established by the Immortals before the endless ages, designed to find and collect things they needed, and this land was among them.

"The transaction is complete, Heavenly Emperor, I take my leave!"

The Shopkeeper bowed and transformed into a divine radiance and left.

He needed to immediately digest the information he had just learned.

Sun Wukong watched his leaving figure.

Friend or foe?

Emperor Donghua inquired with his eyes.

"Not known yet."

Sun Wukong shook his head.

But one thing he was certain of, his purpose was not the same as that of the Immortals.

Sun Wukong swung his staff again, watching the land below crumble.

The entire land was falling, but strangely, Sun Wukong noticed an area that was unaffected by the red fires.

Why hasn't it collapsed?

Sun Wukong flew down.

The power of the land itself, no, that's not right...

Sun Wukong suddenly bent down and picked up a transparent object.

Despite the passing of many years, the object remained crystal clear, untouched by any dust.

Emperor Donghua landed behind Sun Wukong, surprised by what he saw.

What is this?

He wondered.

"This is a tear."

Sun Wukong seemed to know Emperor Donghua's question, saying, "The original visitor of this world wasn't us."

He looked up as if he could see a splendid figure, a vision of crying here.

This figure, telling someone else wouldn't make them believe.

"Let's go."

Sun Wukong turned and left the collapsing land.

There were too many secrets in Chaos that he didn't understand.

But now, he had found the key to unlocking the truth.

The direction was clear, just proceed straight ahead.
