Boundless cosmic void, a flash of white light streaked past.
Sun Wukong sped along the way, still unable to catch up to that egg.
It was simply too fast; no matter what spell was used in pursuit, he could only just manage not to lose it.
But for some unknown reason, there were always people blocking Sun Wukong's path ahead.
Sun Wukong smashed those obstructing him with his staff and continued to race forward.
Emperor Donghua trailed behind him, getting farther and farther away.
After Sun Wukong noticed this, he split off an incarnation to Emperor Donghua's side, persistently carrying him forward.
Some powerful creatures also followed behind Emperor Donghua.
Half a day later, Sun Wukong lost the sensation of the egg and stopped.
In front of him, deep within the boundless and enigmatic depths of Chaos millions of miles away, loomed an eerie fog, infinite and unfathomable, swallowing all light like a vortex.
"Is this a black hole?"
Sun Wukong furrowed his brows. He had never seen such a bizarre fog, where the surrounding space itself was cracking, devouring anything that approached it.
Such a scene was very much like the black holes recorded in the Heavenly Book.
Sun Wukong observed cautiously.
Soon after, Emperor Donghua and others arrived at this star domain.
Those powerful beings that had survived for a long time in Chaos took a deep breath upon seeing the fog.
"How could the egg have come here?"
"Could Hongmeng Land be inside?"
"This is the end."
A chill ran through the creatures' hearts.
Of course, they knew this fog; it was one of the most mysterious and terrifying places in the Chaos Realm.
Many had speculated in the past that this fog was the path to Hongmeng Land, venturing into it to explore, but all who entered disappeared, and no one has ever returned alive.
Sun Wukong stared at the dark vortex for a while, finally determining that it was not a black hole.
Sun Wukong turned his head and glanced at Emperor Donghua who had flown to his side.
Emperor Donghua nodded.
The two immediately flew forward, rushing into the vortex.
"Have they gone mad?"
The creatures were astonished. "What if they die?"
But some, bolder ones, clenched their teeth and followed through.
"The egg entered there; inside must be Hongmeng Land for sure."
Some figures rushed into the vortex.
Inside the vortex, the mist swirled, all light vanished, engulfed by darkness that sent shivers down one's spine.
Even with his Eyes of Golden Flame, Sun Wukong couldn't see clearly here.
The light from his body, the spells he cast, all were devoured by the mist, leaving him to only proceed side by side with Emperor Donghua, dodging the various bizarre fluctuations within the fog.
After an unknown length of time, Sun Wukong's heart stirred, and he once again sensed the presence of the egg.
He lifted his Long Stick.
"Go!"
Sun Wukong shouted, and the Jingu Bang shot out, colliding explosively miles away, piercing through the fog ahead.
A ray of light emerged from the distance.
"Let's go!"
Without heeding Emperor Donghua's astonishment, Sun Wukong took the lead and charged towards the light.
After a burst of blinding light, he broke through the mist, and the area ahead suddenly opened up, revealing the Chaos beyond the fog.
Here lay the ruins of Star Palaces, countless Divined Mountains, and Immortal Palaces floating in the void, yet devoid of any signs of life.
Sun Wukong withdrew the Jingu Bang from one of the Divine Mountains and looked up. At the end of this expanse of Chaos lay an unknown great land, vast beyond measure, like a slumbering Giant Dragon.
"Is that Hongmeng Land?"
Sun Wukong waited for Emperor Donghua to join him, and together they flew toward the land.
On their journey to that land, no storms or creatures barred their path, but the closer they approached the land, the more Sun Wukong felt something was amiss.
His Heavenly Dao powers were continuously depleting.
"Emperor Donghua."
Sun Wukong glanced at Emperor Donghua.
Emperor Donghua nodded, feeling his own Immortal Dao weakening, just like Sun Wukong felt.
"There are no enemies here, but this realm is peculiar."
Sun Wukong looked towards the ever-closer great land: "There are no forces here."
They landed on the land, and almost at the same time, they felt all their Divine Skills disappear.
But this was not a diminishment.
Their immortal power was still present within their bodies, just unable to be utilized on this land.
This land was like a dry well, where all spiritual energy, all power, even all life had vanished—
Sun Wukong and Emperor Donghua had no choice but to proceed on foot.
They passed a strange White Mountain, its length immeasurable, and Sun Wukong touched a giant stone at the base of the mountain; a rumbling sound emanated from within, vibrating his heart.
"This Giant Turtle has been dead for millions of years, yet its voice still lingers in its bones."
Sun Wukong said.
This White Mountain was the remains of a Giant Turtle.
The entire great land seemed like a vast graveyard, with the carcasses of Demon Beasts scattered on the ground, both majestic as mountains and resembling giant tombstones.
Sun Wukong and Emperor Donghua, tiny like ants, walked past the carcasses, looking ahead at the vast land, with tombs spread like a forest, filled with a sense of desolation.
These carcasses must have belonged to Hongmeng creatures.
Sun Wukong thought to himself that the Hongmeng World seemed to be a world of Demon Beasts.
Having seen several Hongmeng Demon Beasts himself, and with the corroboration of these carcasses—he could almost confirm that the Hongmeng World was indeed a world of Demon Beasts.
