The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 461: The Three Realms Begin to Incubate

Opening his eyes, Hui Neng once again saw something unfamiliar.

The bright lantern had flickered on the wall for a long time before he remembered it was the magical light that the young monk in the temple had just replaced yesterday.

These magical lights could automatically adjust their brightness with the sunlight, keeping the room constantly lit.

But Hui Neng still preferred candlelight.

The world was already accustomed to change, accustomed to new things.

*Yet Hui Neng often felt as if he was in a different world.*

*He was in a constantly changing world, but always felt that the world shouldn't be like this originally.*

*Unchanging, that was the stance the Three Realms should have.*

*For millennia, there should not have been any changes.*

"Why do I feel this way?"

*Hui Neng felt confused about the conflict between reality and his feelings.*

"Abbott."

At this time, a young monk pushed the door open and came in, "Director Li has arrived."

"Let him wait a bit."

Hui Neng said, then got up to wash up.

Director Li had been the head of all the officials in the Prime Minister's Mansion, controlling everything.

In the war fifty years prior, he had chosen the right side and was heavily relied upon by Wanling Country. However, with limited skills, he was eliminated twenty years ago due to fierce competition, becoming grumpy in temperament.

He was a troublesome guest but still needed to be entertained.

After washing up, Hui Neng met Director Li in the wing room.

"What matter brings you here today, sir?"

Hui Neng inquired.

"I wish to ask the master to calculate my son's safety."

Director Li surprised him by not complaining but talking about his son.

"He was selected to participate in the fifth recording of the great catastrophe and hasn't returned until now."

"Wasn't the fifth recording completed a month ago?"

Hui Neng slightly frowned.

Director Li nodded, "I heard that dozens of people were sacrificed this time."

"I'll calculate it for you."

Hui Neng calculated with his fingers for a moment, then relaxed and said, "Don't worry, Director Li, your son will return tomorrow."

"Thank you, Abbott!"

Director Li expressed his gratitude.

"But Abbott, I've heard that the real great catastrophe is millions of times harder than during the recording. Can the Three Realms really withstand it?"

He asked.

"No need to worry."

Hui Neng replied, "The Heavenly Emperor has put the best talents of the Three Realms into confronting the great catastrophe and they will surely be able to resolve it."

In the current Three Realms, all development was guided by the great catastrophe.

To confront the great catastrophe, many incredible ideas were gradually becoming a reality.

Hui Neng often heard people expressing their concerns about the great catastrophe, and he pacified them meticulously.

Director Li's doubts gradually dissipated and he left contentedly.

Hui Neng escorted him to the temple gate.

Watching the figure gradually recede, Hui Neng couldn't help but sigh.

The Wanling Calendar opened and forty years passed in a flash.

Compared to his childhood, the Buddhist sect had become much more prosperous.

The development of the Three Realms changed rapidly, yet with rapid development, society was also full of problems and contradictions that couldn't be settled.

It was in this process that the wisdom of Buddhism was once again recognized.

Hui Neng was happy about this, but at the same time, a bit melancholic.

*Was the development of the Three Realms good or bad for all beings?*

*This question, even today, Hui Neng couldn't make an accurate judgment.*

He thought for a moment and decided to go out for a walk.

"Abbott!"

The young monks wanted to follow him.

"I'm going out for a walk, you don't have to mind me."

Hui Neng shook his head, leaving them behind and walked straight ahead.

This walk lasted ten days and nights, walking through desolate villages and prosperous cities, thinking all the way as if something was about to come out of his head.

Reaching a seaside, suddenly a light glided across the sky.

"Look, it's a floating ship!"

The children playing by the sea shouted.

Hui Neng looked up and saw a gigantic white object gliding toward the western sky.

It was a floating ship, without a single sail, and had changed dramatically compared to decades ago.

The children looking at the floating ship were also not the same batch as before.

*Hui Neng was suddenly thoughtful.*

*Perhaps the changes in the Three Realms were just like the generational succession of Wanling, although faster, it was historically inevitable and should not be stopped.*

"Amitabha..."

Hui Neng suddenly attained Enlightenment.

A dazzling light lit up from behind him, blooming gradually, becoming brighter and brighter, taking over the entire sky.

"I have attained Enlightenment."

Bright light rose from the ground.

Hui Neng turned around, and all the Buddhas were there to welcome him.

"Buddha."

They joyfully folded their hands, "We have come to receive you."

However, the Tathāgata, who had returned to his true form, shook his head.

"I must first visit the Heavenly Emperor."

He stepped toward the east, traveling a thousand miles with each step, arriving at Huaguo Mountain in just a few steps.

At Huaguo Mountain, the Immortals gathered there, and the Jade Emperor stood on Sun Wukong's left, smiling and looking over.

Evidently, they knew he had returned.

"How auspicious."

The Tathāgata clasped his hands together, without saying a word, and stood to the right of Sun Wukong.

At this moment, the three giants were formed.

Outside the Thirty-Three Layered Heaven, the enormous Barrier emitted a roaring sound, and infinite power fell like sweet dew.

"What is that?"

The Immortals looked up.

"That is a blessing."

The Tathāgata looked up with a smile and said, "I see, the Three Realms have been waiting for us."

He finally discovered that this path was the correct one.

As long as the will of all beings in the Three Realms was unified and everyone worked together, they could leave the mother behind.

The Three Realms began to incubate.
